Cons: Heatsink blows air in the case

5 out of 5 eggsVery Satisfied

Pros: Low idle power consumption. Handles Crysis on Max settings @ 1680 x 1050 resolution like a charm.

Fits nicely into the Antec 902

Cons: heatsink keeps warm air inside the case, but with proper air flow, it's not a big deal

1 out of 5 eggsWhy did I buy this card?

Pros: When it works, it is much faster than my 4850.

Cons: Everything else. The Aliens VS Predator coupon was BLANK. It has the coupon, but no code. The card randomly locks up my computer and gives me a grey screen of death in games. It could be 30 seconds or 2 hours, but my computer will inevitably lock up in this exact manner. The desktop seems fine, but I bought this card to run games, not browse the internet...

Other Thoughts: XFX support has been trying to help me with the grey screen issues, but so far doesn't care at all about the blank coupon code. I spent the extra few bucks to get the one with the game, and now I have nothing to show for it. I don't think I'll be buying another XFX product any time soon.

Manufacturer Response:

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please email me your support ticket number so I can assist. Neweggsupport@xfxforce.com. Thanks.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat card until your 30 days are up!

Pros: Card plays everything I throw at it. Minimal temps, really no noise at all.

Cons: A little over a month after I bought it, my dvi connections do not work.

Other Thoughts: Now that I've owned this card for a little over a month, I came home last night to find my monitor not getting a signal. There was nothing special going on, on the pc, so I can't imagine why there would have been a problem. I cold booted, and could not get a post. I tried all the no-post things that I could, and low and behold, I tried an HDMI cable instead of DVI, and it boots no problem. Neither dvi port works now, and when they are plugged in, the fan spins up at max rpm, and the computer will not post. It seems to be working fine with hdmi, but I have opened a trouble ticket with xfx. Time will tell if they are as great as I thought they would be when I put my dollars down for this card.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Fast. Maxes out anything I play. Fairly cool in comparison to NVIDIA product line.

Cons: Uses 2 6 pin PCIE connections

5 out of 5 eggsDandy

Pros: Solid construction, great price on Newegg. This is a heavy duty card, People complain about the "cheap heatsink". For a stock heatsink it is so much nicer than people are giving it credit for. It has 2 offset heatpipes and an aluminum dispersion ring, the blades on the dispersion ring are solid.
If you bought a video card a year ago, the construction and quality of fans and heatsinks didn't come close to this.

Cons: Not as aesthetically pleasing without a full coverage encasing fan solution but... Having the board and area around the GPU open allows my fans to keep this card cooler by blowing across it.

Other Thoughts: Having 2x 6pin pci connectors at the rear works well IF you have a ground mounted PSU.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Eyefinity is Awesome
3 Displays possible
No more low res games with Terrible frame rates
Great Bang for the buck
I Run a 1080p monitor and my 62" 1080P while I game so I can surf on one and Frag on the other. Haven't been able to test out any newer games but runs WOW and the STALKER game it came with on max settings with very little slow down.

Cons: Uses 2 6pin connectors which means my thermaltake 775w PS will not be enough for Quad Crossfire down the road.

Other Thoughts: This thing is massive. Debated on this or crossfiring two 5770's for the same price. This thing is definitely the way to go. will not need to toss out 2 GPU in the future. instead I just buy another one of these badboys and crossfire till I run out of PCI-e slots.

5 out of 5 eggsRevision

Pros: I'm revising my first review where I gave this 1 star for constant BSOD, I could never get the OS to load after these drivers installed. My first card was RMA'd with newegg.com (very easy experience). The second card still wouldn't work. After a month of messing with things, I finally found it was a BIOS setting enabling RAID5 (which wasn't being used) that was conflicting.

Between my first rating of 1 and this of 5, it should average 3 stars, which is what I would give it because the XFX tech support was less than stellar.

Cons: XFX tech support isn't open on weekends, which is really the only time that I, and I'm sure many others, have to troubleshoot.

It took 1-2 days to get a reply, and the replies were pretty worthless, as was Gigabyte's support for the mobo. After over 1 month and a dozen e-mails to XFX and Gigabyte, I finally figured out the problem myself and it was nothing even close to what tech support was offering.

Other Thoughts: I know a VGA card tech support can't troubleshoot mobos and vice-versa. But the answers I was getting were really non-answers, I give very detailed info which was never read, and their non-answers coming back every few days were beyond maddening.

Tech Support people, listen up and take notes - try READING the issues people write about, don't just assume you know what I'm telling you, then tell me to try something that I already told you that I tried! This isn't just to XFX, but to all online support people, it's the same everywhere - nobody actually reads my entire, detailed, concise issue, they scan it and think they know what I said - but totally missed the point.
