Runs Skyrim, SCII, DIII, and PoE on 1080p.

Cons: None

1 out of 5 eggs4 failures

Pros: None.

Cons: 4 failures in two years. Last one is blamed on my monitors, XFX has the worst support in the industry.

3 out of 5 eggsSucked at first

Pros: Runs well now that the hotfix is out.

Cons: I think if you buy this card now you will not have a problem with it anymore, if you bought it when the card had just came out then if you haven't heard already you will from me. Either you computer wont boot up at all with it installed, or like me you will have some sort of problem with it when running a graphic intense program. I had mine refurbished 3 times and once the hotfix came out it was just fine.

5 out of 5 eggsBought at another Dealer

Pros: Just like all other 5850s that work when u get them, they are just amazing and can handle every game. Bought this one because it was on sale with rebate at the other dealer and it was more money here, sorry newegg

Cons: None as long as it is working which it is so none

Other Thoughts: Should have went with XFX all along I am crossfiring this with a PowerColor 5850, I am really upset with their customer service and want a refund on my other card so i can get another one of these

Pros: this card is amazing for the price! I can max out graphics on every game and have no problems at all. when i 1st got this card it was like 500 bucks and i was still very happy with it now sense its down in price man u would be a fool too pass on this card!

Cons: it takes up two slot and on some boards u loose a pci slot but for me i don't care not worth me taken an egg away..

Other Thoughts: i am about to buy one more and a few other upgrades to build a new gaming computer wanted to get this card to try it with crossfire ;) so ill tell ya next how cross fire is with it ;)
plus i use water cooling in my pc for the cards and cpu.. so the little overclocking i can do the cool temps help too ;)

5 out of 5 eggsvery good card !

Pros: Fastest in class PERIOD ! best bang for the buck PERIOD ! runs nice and cool, fits most all cases.

Cons: Fan is abit loud at full speed, but what fan isnt?

Other Thoughts: To the reviewer that said the 6850 is a better performer sorry but your wrong, this thing matches the 6870 when over clocked, read the reviews buddy,The 68 series is not no upgrade to these 58s.Dont take my word, read the reviews ! the only thing the 68s beat the 58s in is power efficiency THATS IT ! but when your a hard core gamer who cares about that? i know i dont !

1 out of 5 eggsUpdate to Earlier Post

Pros: Newegg's return policy was *much* better than XFX's return policy. Newegg offered to replace (w/free UPS shipping), refund (-15% restock), or if the card was out of stock, credit toward a new/different card. I chose the replace option, but am hoping I can convince them to credit me the money and go for a 6850 or 6870... (see Other Thoughts below.)

Cons: XFX's return policy was mediocre at best. They offered to either repair the current dead card, or replace it with a refurbished card. So I would get to pay full price for a refurbished card with a refurbished warranty (which I *should* pay much less for actually). Full price for less value, plus a month of troubleshooting and x-country shipping? Thanks XFX! </sarcasm>

Other Thoughts: And to top things off - one of the attractive points of this deal was a $30 rebate, which has since expired, and I really can't qualify for the rebate because I don't have the card/box/proof of ownership.

So now it's really worth less. And to add insult to injury - the 6850s just released after XMAS, are cheaper than this card, and perform better.

I'm going to go fix a motherboard with bad audio now.

1 out of 5 eggsDead Card

Pros: None. DOA.

Cons: DOA. Here's the message I sent to XFX:

The system refuses to boot with the 5850 installed. No beeps at all. The system works fine from VGA on the MB. The system also works fine with other video cards.

Removed my other PCs 5770s and put this card in that complety different PC. That system also failed to boot (no beeps - no video - nothing)[Fans spin - same as above].

So - between my two PCs here, I`ve narrowed the issue down to this card. CPUs/RAM/HD/BIOS - all work with both boxes. But if I put this card in either box, it kills the box. I`d like a working version of this card, please.

Other Thoughts: Deciding whether to RMA this with Newegg or XFX.

I'll update this post as appropriate.

1 out of 5 eggs2 cards failed within a few days each

Pros: XFX has a strong reputation and excellent warranty, but noone's perfect I guess. I also own an earlier revision of the XFX 5850 Black Edition (585A-ZNBC) which has performed flawlessly for nearly eight months.

As usual, newegg delivered outstanding customer service in handling my issues with this card. They processed both my RMA's, first for replacement and then for refund, quickly and courteously.

Cons: I ordered this card to crossfire with my existing 5850 black edition when the parts for my new build arrive later this month, and decided to test it first by swapping it into my existing box. The first 585X-ZABC card I ordered failed within a day--the screen started artifacting and the computer crashed, then would no longer boot with the new card, but worked fine when I put the old one back in.

The second card I received did a little better--it lasted two days before failing, although I didn't do any gaming on the first day. When noticed some artifacting again, I opened CCC to check the temps and noticed them start to climb alarmingly; shortly thereafter the card died completely. So maybe the problem was a bad batch of heatsinks.

Other Thoughts: As I mentioned, I own and have been very happy with a previous (reference) version of the XFX 5850 Black Edition; unfortunately that one goes for $100 more than the current revision and not for sale on newegg.

It may also be significant to note that XFX no longer lists the 585X-ZABC model on its website. If a different revision of the black edition were available at a comparable price, I would buy one.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Card

Pros: I've had this card since Feb. of 2010 and it has not shown any signs of letting up. It has ran like an absolute charm and has not even hiccuped.

This Card can blow through any of the games I throw at it with the settings on Ultra High, resolution at 1200x1920, and runs very quiet and cool. Games include Dirt 2, Crysis, Dragon Age, Starcraft 2, Left For Dead 2, and many others.

It is under $300 now! When I bought it I paid $360 for this thing and now it's gone down over $100, that quality and reliability for a good price. I know the new 6000 series are already out and the 6900 series is coming very soon, but I'm just saying that this is a great card for when it was new.

XFX does a great job standing behind their products and their Black Edition members as well.

Cons: None that I can think of honestly.

Other Thoughts: Personally, I would spend $50 more dollars and get the XFX 6870 Black Edition since this card is slightly outdated now, but like I said... I was an amazing card for when it was new and has treated me well. I don't want to see thing thing have 4 stars just because some people rated it on account of getting defective card. That happens with every product... No company is going to make a perfect card every time. RMA the thing and THEN write a review.
