2 out of 5 eggsNot recommended

Pros: Good output connections, quiet

Cons: High pitched sound comes from card. Even older games lag a bit.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this card quite some time ago. Initially paired with a Q6600 with 8GB of RAM and a 500w power supply. From day one, the card has emitted a high pitched squeal when under load. Note that this load could be something as simple as scrolling quickly through a webpage. Initial explanations for this were either the PS not having enough power or the sound board getting interference from the card. Built a new system, ensuring to both get enough power (750w) and solve the audio board issue. Same problem.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, unfortunately Coil Whine can be caused by many thing. Have you tried any other video cards to confirm the GPU as the culprit? We can always test it under warranty for you as well.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat performance for the price.

Pros: I picked this up for a teenager's homework and gaming machine. This card does everything that is asked of it. I do not expect it to run three 30 inch monitors either so just remember what level of card you are buying and what performance you will receive.

Cons: The fan is a little louder than I would like but not a big deal.

1 out of 5 eggsbuy xfx if you want a great card, but are ok with being ignored by support

Pros: this is a review for XFX Support, i have 2 of these cards i bought from newegg more than a year ago

Cons: xfx support is terrible, the support section is under construction more than it is up, and they tell you to email support email. funny thing is they must not monitor the email at all. i had to email them this week about one of my cards not being recognized by my system (no video, not showing up in device manager) and have not heard from them. i have also emailed this same email address SEVERAL times in the past year to no avail, over 5 emails to XFX with NO RESPONSE. double lifetime warranty isn't worth it if they won't recognize you as a customer, i feel duped.

4 out of 5 eggsXFX Delivered this Radeon well.

Pros: The cooling on this card is exceptional. When running Furmark this cooling system keeps the card in a very safe zone. The fan isn't that loud. Run games in medium to very high settings without too much difficulty. Would ease the strain by disabling VSync. Does really well with anti-aliasing.

Cons: A 2GB card would work much better in most gamer's situations.

5 out of 5 eggsFast Enough in Crossfire

Pros: Two cards for less than the high end card alone. Running two of these cards in Crossfire mode on a Sabertooth 990FX MB, AMD Phenom II X4 970 Black Edition slightly overclocked to 3712 mhz, 3xHDD 1TB each 6gb transfer, 16gb memory & Win7 64. Runs all games on full without a hiccup.

Cons: None so far...

5 out of 5 eggsNice

Pros: Great video card for the price. Does Planetside 2 just fine with some minor tweaking. Does guildwars 2 great as well even in high combat areas. Minecraft using high resolution graphics and such is also 60 - 100 frames at least. Smooth as silk in low to moderate rendering requirements.

Cons: Not top of the line, if you're expecting 120 frames with ultra graphics you won't get it with this card.

Other Thoughts: If you're expecting top of the line performance this isn't the card you want. Go with the 7980 card. You will pay a lot for it. This one is a budget gamer's alternate card. It'll do 90% of the games out there at a decent FPS. Well within playable limits. With proper tweaking and overclocking you can probably squeeze out a bit more out of it. I did not do any of that so I get around 30 - 60 frames in ultra game settings in planetside 2 which is a very graphics intensive game. I'd say that if this card can do that fairly well, older games and less graphics intensive games should fare well against anything that can be thrown at it. Planetside 2 looks absolutely beautiful at all times with decent frames as well.

5 out of 5 eggsit runs eyefinity at max settings

Pros: Right off the start it was easy to install and drivers updated automatically. Stock heat dissipation is surprisingly good, and my card hasn't ever had cooling issues even when overclocked. Handles eyefinity even on max settings with playable (30-40) fps. A great card for the price.

Cons: Only 1Gb ddr5
Needed a bit of tweaking to get it to overclock.. but what card doesnt these days.

Other Thoughts: The price is fair, but with the price on the 7k series dropping this might not be the best bang for your buck in a month or two.
