2 out of 5 eggsBurned out

Pros: Card ran great. 1920x1080 most games were perfect on high and ultra settings.

Cons: Card burned out after only 2 years. It was shorting out and would reset my computer when the load was too high, and also when the temperature was too high. It only had to be one or the other, not necessarily both.

Other Thoughts: I would stay away from this card. You can find something better that will last longer, for cheaper too.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, We're sorry you had trouble with this Unit. Please contact us at xfxsupport.com to get an RMA started to repair/replace this unit. Thank you.

2 out of 5 eggsWay too hot

Pros: *Was a pretty powerful card

Cons: *Ran way too hot. Waaaay too hot. Idle temps should never get near 50C.

Other Thoughts: I should have read the other reviews before blindly choosing this one. Thankfully the RMA process was smooth, but I've definitely learned my lesson.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, it sounds like your fan has failed. If you need any more assistance, please contact me at neweggsupport@xfxforce.com. Thank you

1 out of 5 eggsBad card for me

Pros: Powerful card runs everything i throw at it which is not much at 1680x1050.

Cons: Runs hot on metro and battlefield 2 games it should run great at 90-100% fan speed still gets 80+ temps ran hot blew out my PSU and now i have to buy a new PSU and deal with customer support to see what is wrong with my card. I had OCZ 550 Watt PSU plenty of power and good supply.

Other Thoughts: Well update with customer support on whether they where helpful or not.

4 out of 5 eggsloud

Pros: runs my games just fine with a phenom 960t. the only one i had to turn down was bf3. and it still ran at 45+ i just like to keep 60.

Cons: runs way hot but had it a while and it still works fine... sometimes gets loud when the fan kicks on but im used to that from xfx.

Other Thoughts: wish it had dual fans or a nicer cooling unit in general. but i got the cheap one.

2 out of 5 eggsLow quality fan wears out quickly

Pros: I vowed never to put another ATI product in my PC 10 years ago. (All other ATI products have given me problems) I broke my vow and I was pleasantly surprised that the ATI video cards seem on par with NVIDIA these days.

Low price

Best value at the time for bitcoin mining

Cons: I purchased two of these and am running Crossfire. Both cards fans have failed in less than 1 year. I have little faith in XFX quality since I've had heat sinks fall off of another XFX card a few years back.

I have just opened support tickets and will update this review based on the outcome.

XFX brand did not come with long crossfire cables. Most / all other brands don't either. I ordered a new motherboard due to lack of cables to work with my existing board.

Other Thoughts: Fans are the bain of my existance. I have 17 computers and most run 24 x 7 and its a constant battle with fans. If you leave your stuff on, pay more for longer lasting fans whenever possible.

2 out of 5 eggsXFX HD 6950 Support

Pros: Newegg rocks HANDS DOWN!!. Not bad cards when they works. Price wise I could have bought any brand of similar card for about same price. choose XFX for warrenty.

Cons: XFX is now out of my buying market, only because of their service department. Lifetime guarantee also means lifetime to respond to customers (step it up XFX). RMA'ed card, they tested, found no fault,
funny how it malfunctions in all units I tested (4), and spare card (exactly same) does not malfunction when installed. nor does other spares I have as well.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Solid performance (when its working)

Cons: * Causes system crashes
* Overheats

Other Thoughts: I'd stay away from this card. Ive had nothing but problems from it since I bought it. I get guaranteed crashes at some point in every 3d application I use and even during web browsing pages with flash or other embedded features. The only selling point to the company at this point is that they did honor their rebate however I am soon going to test their warrant to see if I can get a working replacement or like item exchange.

Manufacturer Response:

Please contact our support team at xfxforce.com. We can help diagnose the problem and give instructions on resolving overheating issues of the card is running to warm. Thank you.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Value

Pros: Great Game Performance
Good Price/Performance Balance
Plays everything game I have at 1920x1080 with Maximum Quality
Eyefinity

Cons: You can get the 2 GB model for only a few more dollars (Does not seem to matter if you are gaming at 1920x1080 or lower)
Eyefinity beyond 2 monitors requires additional Active Mini-Display-Port adapters

Other Thoughts: Eyefinity--Once you get used to having three screens, working with only one seems impossible.

3 out of 5 eggsfast but hot

Pros: fast in games & good benchmarks
maxes everything

Cons: very hot running card. i have this card running in a nzxt beta series case with 5 120mm fast including one blowing air directly on the card and still see load temps as high as 92c with the fan set to 50%. anything over 50% and this thing is painfully loud. i looked up the max temp for the 6950 and it is 95c so xfx is cutting it close with this one. bad cooling design.

Other Thoughts: overclocking is out of the question. i have to set the fan manually in order to prevent shut downs after gaming periods of only 30-60 minutes. i now set the fan to 63% and can tolerate the noise. with this fan setting i have seen the card hit 85c which is still high but acceptable for the price/performance.

get different brand or aftermarket cooling
