5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: I have a HAF case and noise means a lot to me. This card is very quiet.
Plays BF3 in ultra settings with very usable fps
Nice high end card.
I would recommend for any system

Cons: Locked bios and I can only clock it to the default levels of the 6970.
There is firmware out there but that would void your warranty

For the guys who complains about crashing. Try reinstalling your video driver. I would crash during gameplay (and in BF3 that is really annoying because you lose all your points during that game) and get the BSOD. Looked like a corrupt file. Reinstalled driver and no crashes yet. But just did that.

Other Thoughts: Had a 5870 that I purchased from here and it ran great for a few years until the fan started making a lot of noise. Claimed on the warranty and 3 weeks later I have a 6950 as a replacement in retail box. XFX has always been a little more expensive but worth it because of the quality and warranty. They make a good product and anything that is mass produced will have lemons. Will continue to buy XFX.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Runs quiet and fast! Great Warranty!

Cons: none so far.

Other Thoughts: I was concerned with some other posts regarding XFX's rebate turnaround, however so far I have been very impressed. I have received e-mail updates along the way with scanned images of all the paperwork I sent in. This has been the most detailed rebate program I have yet worked with. We'll see if the check card comes as smoothly and quickly as the rest has been. As far as the card itself, I was able to overclock it to the same levels as the XXX edition using catalyst. I was able to get mid 80's FPS on the highest settings with the included Dirt 3 game. I would highly recommend this product.

1 out of 5 eggsnot for eyefinity

Pros: plays all games very well and can handle crysis in eyefinity crossfired even with only 1gb memory

Cons: not for eyefinity all amd cards sold with assorted ports will have screen tearing due to the different connections on at least 1 screen making the gaming experience terrible. if you think having a few dead pixels on a monitor is bad this is a 100 times worse. amd requires at least 1 connector must be dp to work in eyefinity but most cards have an assortment of ports. most are 2 dvi 2 dp and 1 hdmi even that flex card with 3 dvi port has screen tearing because 1 is still natively dp converted by the card to dvi

Other Thoughts: get a card with 3 or more dp ports there is an asus with 4 or go nvidia surround 2 cards needed

5 out of 5 eggsGood card, low OC limits.

Pros: -Does exactly what I want it to do
-Runs BF3 at all High settings at about 50FPS w/ 4gb DDR3 1333 9-9-9-24 Ram.
-Once you figure out how to get past limits, OC's pretty well
-Two fans, extremely quiet, good cooling

Cons: -OC limits are set pretty low in CCC, gotta use MSI afterburner (and go into the config file and allow to push beyond normal OC it, its a bit complicated)
-No dual bios to unlock extra shaders
-I hit my card limit at about 965 mhz core with 1.25V....which means that no matter how much more voltage I throw at it the card won't be stable with higher clocks (speeds)
^^ Each card is different, so you could be stable at over 1Ghz, or you could be instable at 920. It's like that with pretty much any card.

It's a good card, however if you plan on playing BF3, I'd recommend getting the 2GB version. It'll allow for more textures to be loaded as well as giving higher results on higher resolutions and higher AA levels. Should allow you to hit ultra on some of the visual settings, depending on your resolution

Other Thoughts: Phenom II X6 @ 3.6Ghz (OC)
G.Skill 4GB 1333 9-9-9-24
Asus M5A88V-Evo
750GB Western Digital, 6 Gb/s
Stock Heatsink, Antec Case with 2 intake fans and two outtake fans (90, 90, 90,120mm)
18" dell monitor, 1280x1024

2 out of 5 eggsCan't unlock

Pros: Regular HD6950 Specs as expected
Doesn't run too hot (up to low 90s celsius at max load with no overclock).

Cons: DOES NOT UNLOCK! If you want to experience the full potential of the HD6950, look elsewhere. This card will not unlock all of it's shaders as I had hoped.
No dual BIOS switch. Not like it's of any use since it can't unlock, but a disappointment nonetheless.
After a few months, the fans are starting to make a high pitched noise when the card is running at it's maximum. This is not a good sign. I expect I might have to replace the card in the next couple months.

3 out of 5 eggsAmazing card, but dont expect to get your money back with mail in rebate

Pros: XFX is a good company with a good warranty. This card runs everything from SC2 maxed out to skyrim with everything maxed out, asides from AA.

Cons: XFX is horrible at honoring their Mail In Rebates.

3 out of 5 eggsQuestionable...

Pros: XFX is a great company!
The service people are tops!
The lifetime warranty is great!
(Even if their replacement parts are used most of the time, as long as they work is ok)
This is a nice card, but read the cons...

Cons: This is a replacement card from XFX. The HD5870 ( bought at NewEgg )was sent in and they don't have replacement boards for HD5870.
The heat sink and fan...
No rpm moniitoring!
The 3 direct touch heat pipes are too far apart. ( ok for Nvidia that has a larger rectangular chip )
Because of this the ATI chip transffers heat mainly to the center heat pipe and the alumminum next to it. Forget about the 2 outer heatpipes transfering heat away from the chip directly. I understand that sometimes design is not perfect, but XFX is ATI now. you should know better!
I would have been happier with a refference cooler.
May be ok as a single card. One card next to another? Forget about it! Needs lots of room to breathe and I have lots of fans...Have to run it at 800 core to keep it at 90c and 100% fan with 65F ambient.

Other Thoughts: If you call and complain the answer is like, Oh 95 or 98 C should be able to handle it. Maybe even higher.
I'm not one to complain, but, they missed the train on this one.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Awesome card for the money! Keeps cool, quiet and maxes out Crysis 2, SC2, BF3, and hopefully will max out Skyrim when it comes out.

Cons: could have been cheaper?

Other Thoughts: XFX is a good company with quality products.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome card

Pros: Nice look.
price tag.
Direct contact heatpipes.

this card rocks, i am running bf3 beta on ultra settings with 60fps
bad company 2 on ultra settings at 60fps
dead island on max settings 60fps.

Cons: not one.

Other Thoughts: just a note, i post that all my games run at 60fps, they may or may not run higher but i only comment they can run 60 because the human eye can nly process 60fps so 60 is literally the max you can get benefit from.

also the guy who keeps posting on video cards about them crashing HARD is full of @#$% i've seen his exact post on lots of cards he's just angry about something. dont let his bad review push you away this is an amazing card.
