3 out of 5 eggsLow profile bracket missing

Pros: Does the job in HTPC

Cons: Came without low profile bracket...and "comes with low profile bracket" was the main reason I bought it. Neither XFX nor Newegg responded to request for replacement.

4 out of 5 eggsGet driver from NVIDIA website

Pros: NVIDIA chipset. 3 different connector options. On-board HD audio for the HDMI connector. Hard to beat the price for a reputable brand (and I got it even cheaper w/ a rebate).

Cons: One egg off because the driver CD was worthless (it literally said to go to their website for the latest but didn't give any sort of direct link). Save some effort and go to the NVIDIA website and find the latest driver for the 8400 GS. It's not a small download so do it while you're waiting for your package to arrive. And do install both the graphics and HD audio drivers. This card has HD audio for the HDMI port; if you don't install that driver then "plug-n-play" will waste time repeatedly looking for drivers.

Other Thoughts: Being used in the office of a small non-profit, so no high-end graphics demand. Install was easy once I figured out to use the NVIDIA driver and once I found the right spot in BIOS to turn off the on-board graphics (which had been sharing system memory).

1 out of 5 eggsXfX Products

Pros: n/a

Cons: Purchased a product that came with lifetime warranty but failed. The replacement i registered was removed from registry all together for some reason then upon seeking support was denied any. Horrible customer support, products and rma process ...

Other Thoughts: Avoid this name brand due to consistent poor customer support and product quality..

3 out of 5 eggsAnnoying Card

Pros: Cheap, low power.

Cons: Constant driver and adapter issues, chokes up on many "low graphic" games.

Other Thoughts: I used this card for almost 2 years in my desktop and it was just one minor headache after another. I had the latest drivers and some monitors would not display properly on it. If you dont game, this card is reasonable, but if you want to play anything or watch movies, get something a lot newer and a little more powerful. The biggest issue now is that this card is just so old. The 8 series came out in 2006, and even though this card is updated, it is still very behind considering since then the 9 series, 100, 200, 300, 500, and 600 series all came out after this. You might as well pay the extra $10-$20 and get a 520+ or 620+ and you wont regret it.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat price!

Pros: Really quiet and does a good job as a basic card for everyday office-type use.

Cons: For that price? None.

Other Thoughts: Replaced a loud & ailing GeForce low- profile card that came with an older HP Slimline desktop that just does office tasks. Media Center did work just fine though!

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Card. Terrible Rebate.

Pros: Installed on an older computer with a GHz Intel Pentium 4.
Works fine. Installed easy.

Cons: Had trouble with the driver installer. It might of just been my ignorance. :P
-1 star for the 'rebate'.
The rebate stated, 'Ship before 12-31-11'. Shipped 12-29-11.
Got a rejection to my rebate because it hadn't arrived until 1-2-12. Really lame excuse not to pay the rebate. But, what can you do without spending 4hrs. on the phone with customer service?

5 out of 5 eggsDecent card

Pros: Low price
decent for light use

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: decent cheap card, not really intended for gaming but for light gaming it will do, its a great card for the price and i would recommend it to anyone who needs a upgrade from their onboard card.
