4 out of 5 eggsPlays BF4 on High Settings

Pros: Quite- Not loud like most Cards with blower box style
slight rugged- Looks Nice
Length Size... Fits Most Cases
Plays Battlefield 4 on Ultra Settings- Very smooth!
Nice Heat sink design, Card Naturally stays cool without the need of downloading software to cool card.

Cons: Dual PCI-E plug ins on side of card instead of back.

Other Thoughts: Keep The heat sink design. The GPU deserves to be treated like a CPU, Heat wise!

Manufacturer Response:

Excellent. We are happy everything is going as expected.

Pros: - Great card for its time
- Still plays games on high settings past 30fps

Cons: - Fan is loud at times
- Overheats VERY easily
- Needs 3rd party software to control fan speeds from default to prevent overheating (or, preferably, aftermarket heatsink/fans)

Other Thoughts: Just recently, after having this card since 2011, I was experience extreme overheating while playing just simple games (temps went as high as 109ºC). I haven't really had much problems with over heating but the temps have always been high (around ~65ºC on idle and around ~85-90ºC on heavy load). But recently the overheating started to cause my computer to shut down. I had to take the heatsink and fan off just to see what the problem really was. The main problem I noticed right away was whoever made this card used WAY too much paste. There was so much paste that it was spread onto the main board. I had to clean all of the paste off and re-apply. After this I was getting MUCH better idling temp of ~51ºC. This was still not good enough for me so I installed MSi Afterburner and changed the default fan speeds just to see if I could get any lower. Now I am getting an Idling speed of ~37ºC. As far as being under heavy load I have not yet tested that, but I will check back with my results. This should not have to be done to get good temps, but it's a fairly old card so it was expected to do a little maintenance.

1 out of 5 eggs2nd RMA

Pros: Fast... adequate and still relevant.

Cons: One of the most horrible tech experiences I have ever had. Kevin and Mark are both pompus holes who lie for each other. They cover each others backs and constantly lie. They told me that their supervisors dont take calls. What? That pretty much sums it up for me. What kind of company is that?

Other Thoughts: Buy it for the warranty but be ready to wait and wait and wait thru their stupid rma process. Their rma guy stripped the screws on the housing of the card and sent it back on my DIME! Didnt even repair the fricken card in the first place, rather made it worse off than it was before i send it in. I only discovered this because they tried to save a buck and send me the replacement fan, upon taking the card apart i discovered the stripped screw to the housing. I wouldnt recommend this company any honestly even being a fanboy i would go invidia if this was the last ati company out there.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, Im sorry we have to revisit this problem again. We have offered you a prepaid label and RMA to resolve all your issues. If you change your mind, please contact us. Sorry for your dissapointment. Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsgreat

Pros: great cards. I have 2 in crossfire and they can handle anything I throw at them. I run Skyrim on the highest settings with the HD pack mod and these cards give great Frame rates, great textures, and smooth performance at good temps. Best buy yet.

Cons: my only issue with these cards is the fan noise. They put out a great amount of power with great quality but the fan noise is a bit more than I would like. At 40% fan speed the tepms stay at good levels during gameplay but still a bit noisy. Not enough to lose an egg over though.

4 out of 5 eggs2 years later

Pros: It was reasonably priced and could handle a lot of the current games. Even when Skyrim came out, I could run it on high (not ultra) settings without a problem. Handled Battlefield 3 on high settings well enough as well.

Cons: The cinematic briefings in between levels in Battlefield 3 would be extremely choppy and stutter nonstop until the game crashed or it successfully caught up with itself.

After 2 years, the vram has started to fail with artifacts not being drawn in 3d correctly. The card was given a lifetime warranty, so I put in a support ticket.

Other Thoughts: This was the first card I ever purchased that made my computer feel like a real gaming rig. I'm sad that it is starting to die after only 2 years, but maybe XFX will surprise me when they process my support ticket.

Pros: Looking to buy this card, anyone want to sell theirs?

Cons: They Discontinued selling this card, not cool.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Except...

Pros: Great card, took everything I could throw at it and never asked for anything in return.

Cons: Cooler fan died after 1 year of purchase. I currently have contacted XFX for a replacement cooler, it's now 2 WEEKS later and I still don't have a finished support ticket (Just 1 response asking if I want to replace it or receive a new cooler to replace myself). After waiting this long just for a reply, there's no way I'm waiting to have this replaced by them.

After looking at more reviews, this seems to be a very common issue with this card.

Other Thoughts: I've owned other XFX products before, and the cooler fans have always been an issue. I get about a year out of every one before they die out. I've never had a problem with XFX support until this one, so I'm not sure if this will keep me from buying XFX from now on. I did, however, buy a replacement card (Gigabyte 7870) to give another brand a shot. The real reason I bought the other card though is because even after waiting 9 days for XFX tech support to finish my stupid support ticket, this new card will STILL be here first! That's bad. Real bad...

Again, I don't know if it's enough to make me never buy XFX again, but another similar support issue in the future definitely would be. Who can typically afford to go 2 weeks + without a closed support ticket, let alone without a GPU? Thankfully I don't mind the noise and can let a box fan take over for the GPU fan while I wait. What a turnoff though...

2 out of 5 eggsGot what I Payed for

Pros: this card really does meet most of what I need it to and even then some. handles most simulation software nicely and games run well most of the time.

Cons: This card is a little unstable. I even attempted to lower the clock speed finally. It helped but even still this card gets hot. and its got an incredibly loud fan on it.

Manufacturer Response:

It sounds like one of the fans has failed. Please email me at and i will gladly replace it. This card comes with a lifetime warranty to protect you from things like this.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Card

Pros: Great card, out performs some better known brands. Price is good and definitely worth it. Despite some other peoples complaints the XFX site is really easy to register and navigate and tracks your info so you can find the correct download easier.

Cons: Haven't had any problems yet

Other Thoughts: Overall I am impressed with XFX as a company, I was weary of getting a card from a less known company but I would definitely buy from them again.
