5 out of 5 eggsOwned it for 2 years

Pros: Good card for budget however will not play starcraft 2 or diablo 3 past medium settings with shadows turned off to get a steady 35-40 fps. no AA.

My system that i used was recently upgraded and i wanted to see how far it will go.

i5-4670K OC'd at 4.2ghz
16gigs of ddr3 @1600mhz
840 pro SSD (128gb)
intel extreme mobo
850 watt psu with gold cert.
And this graphics card.

I wanted to make sure that this card would be the bottleneck in the system to see the absolute max performance it would give.

very little heat and noise

Cons: It's a budget card so performance is not a con however the sapphire HD 7770 is only $20 more roughly and it is FAR MORE PERFORMANCE for the extra $20!

No manual control over anything, No OC'ing, no fan speed changes and no voltage control. I tried stock programs and third party software. Card is locked down tight.

Other Thoughts: I purcahsed this card 2 years ago back in 2011 from Be$tbuy when it was on sale from $119 down to $89.

Seeing its still brand new after 2 years at $89 is honestly a joke. You wont notice any difference in performance in the 2gb version of this card than the 1gb version (talking about DDR3***NOT*** 1gb of ddr5)

I think this card is honestly worth about $60-70 realistically. There are far better out there for just the extra $20-25 and when it comes to gaming, the GPU is always the most important part. Cpu's are important but GPU's do most of the work depending on the games. If your not buying this card for gaming but for office use or home use.....dont even bother. Invest in a CPU that has onboard graphics.

4 out of 5 eggsOK for my system

Pros: --Pairs OK with AMD APU A8-5600K for Crossfire mode
--Small, low heat
--Able to overclock the dual graphics settings in AMD Control Center

Cons: It's a budget card (but a good one)

Other Thoughts: Bottom Line: Great card if you don't want to spend $200+ on a video card, and if you're OK with just decent graphics in today's games (example: FarCry 3 has ~30 FPS on the 'high' settings, while running Crossfire with A8 APU)

If you're serious about gaming, try to invest in a $200 video card, like in the 7800 series of Radeon. If you're like me and are satisfied with a sweet spot price/performance ratio, go with my system setup:
AMD A8-5600K APU (CPU+onboard gfx)
RAM: 8 GB x 1333 DDR 3 (I recommend grabbing DDR3-1866 RAM, will be my next upgrade)
Two blue WD drives in Striped volume (raid 0)

Here are some 3dMark11 benchmarks (basic):
(Dual graphics Crossfire mode of APU + this 6670)
P1975 with AMD Radeon HD 6670(2x) and AMD A8-5600K
Graphics Score 1907
Physics Score 3759
Combined Score 1372

(Score with just the 6670 enabled, APU disabled):
P1352 with AMD Radeon HD 6670(1x) and AMD A8-5600K
Graphics Score 1229
Physics Score 3850
Combined Score 1112

(Score with just the APU running in this system):
P1110 with AMD Radeon HD 7560D(1x) and AMD A8-5600K
Graphics Score 989
Physics Score 3724
Combined Score 978

4 out of 5 eggsWORKS QUITE WELL

Pros: Video card works properly with no problems for the 6 months i had this card

Cons: Beware if you hook the hdmi cable from the video card into a receiver and then out through the receivers hdmi to the monitor. This caused enough of a delay in the tdr that i was constantly getting the display driver has stopped working and has recovered.

2 out of 5 eggsStay away from this one.

Pros: 1 slot card

Cons: Card struggles streaming even streaming standard def video. Games? Look elsewhere.

Other Thoughts: I bought the same gpu in 2011 here by xfx, but it had 1 gig of ddr5 memory (XFX HD-667X-ZAF3 Radeon HD 6670). That I'm guessing is the huge difference in performance between the two cards. The card with 1 gig of ddr5 is great. The ddr5 rates 7.1 on the windows scale this card 6.7. That said my 256 mb xl800 (windows rating 4,7) direct x 9 card out preforms this card in the real world. As I said stay away from this card and IMO all of the 6670 cards with ddr3 memory. Have to see if New Egg will let me return this turkey.

2 out of 5 eggsLighting Issues

Pros: It's cheap. And it works.

Cons: Yes, it works. But the:

- Lighting quality
- Color quality

If there are shadows or what you're watching wasn't brightly lit when it was shot the screen may as well just be black. Can't see a thing! Same issue for games. Those shadowed areas in corners where the special items are hidden = black. Area's in FPS games I've been playing for years that are shadowed are flat black, can't see a thing, but you get shot from there because someone's there. You lose because you can't see them because shadows=black with the horrible lighting this card produces.

If you do graphics this card is a big no no as well because the color quality is equally horrible. On pages like facebook, as an example, where there are different shades of blue for the alert icons vs the background they're can't see the icons. When a friend's profile is linked in a comment or status, it's black just like the rest of the text. No way of knowing what's a link and what isn't if they're not underlined or stand out in some way other than color.

Other Thoughts: Ok card if you just want a fast one that's cheap and works.
Horrible for gaming and an ultimate sin for graphics creation in my experience with it.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: quiet, cool running, powerful, and might I add EXCELLENT service from XFX if ANYTHING goes wrong.

Cons: Bought two, one for my computer and one for my husband's computer. About two months after install the fan on my husband's card began to fail.

Other Thoughts: The reason why I have not taken away any eggs is because the company worked with my husband to make sure he had a working video card. XFX has made customers for life. If you have problems with your video cards from XFX CONTACT THE COMPANY.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works great and 2gigs does make a difference. I can play any game on ultra settings and no hiccups whatsoever. It powers through video editing projects (or course the crucial ssd helps too...hee hee hee.) I have had it for about 6 months now and have used it in a number of different rigs for testing purposes and it has worked flawlessly. And its black so it matches my board and look nicely too.

Cons: It isn't a 7000 series. Absolutely none. I have no idea what the other people had issues with. And yes the whole registering to get drivers from xfx site is annoying but whatever.

Other Thoughts: nada

1 out of 5 eggsSave your Money

Pros: Pros......Its cheap and quite

Cons: Had the Card for exactly 4 hours, then it died.

Started to artifact, rebooted system, artifacts at post, then nothing at all.

Contacted Manufacturer for support, they advised re installing the drivers, support was no help at all.

Other Thoughts: Returning to newegg for a replacement will update if I get better results from the replacement.

1 out of 5 eggsSketchy...

Pros: 2Gig of DDR3 ram
Quiet, Powerful, Keeps a cool 29c idle.

Cons: I've had this thing for about 3 days now and about every hour or so it gives me " The driver has stopped working and has been successfully restored " which is total cr@p!

Other Thoughts: I just built my gaming rig and this so far has been the only thing wrong.... I don't know if it's the card or what but I've even tried other cards and no problems, I've updated drivers and everything can't seem to find a problem I'd hate to have to return it... It may just be a faulty card I have no idea. Any help would be appreciated. Will update if anything happens.
3.3 Quad Core
8gigs of DDR 1600 ram
Decent motherboard ( don't remember the name Asus Saber sounds right )

Manufacturer Response:

We are sorry to hear that you have had a problem. Please contact our support staff at They can help troubleshoot your problem and offer RMA service if it is needed. Thank you.

5 out of 5 eggsNice card

Pros: lower cost, cool, ease of installation and use.

Cons: No cons really, just don't expect it to be the same as a Radeon 7970. You get exactly what it says.

Other Thoughts: Won't handle heavy gaming action but fine for detailed graphics manipulation and editing. Recommend for any other activity but gaming.
