4 out of 5 eggsGood card

Pros: Runs fast, plays all games at max with no problems. Very good card for the money. Cooler is good.

Cons: After a few months the back cooling fan started to make a very loud grinding noise. Its pretty annoying and very noticable. It seems that the fan is hitting the heatsink.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, We would be happy to fix this for you. Please contact me at neweggsupport@xfxforce.com. Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsSatisfied

Pros: This card runs every game I throw at it without missing a step. Beautifully designed and pretty quiet too, my case fans are louder. Other than occasional driver update issues it's never given me a problem. Runs like a dream.

Cons: Didn't receive the promised games after my purchase, not really a big deal though since I bought them all later anyways.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for the great review. If you have any further questions or concerns, please contact me at neweggsupport@xfxforce.com

1 out of 5 eggsUgggh

Pros: Looks cool.

Cons: Worked for 5 hours, then quit working. Wont output a display signal on either DVI or HDMI. Tested with 2 working PCs. Have both a Gigabyte GTX460 and HD7950 working perfectly fine in both systems.

Other Thoughts: I guess this is what I get for trying XFX. It will be returned.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat Card on One Monitor

Pros: Card looks great, and the graphics are very good.

Cons: Noticed the card overheating while playing some games. Card was idling at almost 60c and wouldn't drop unless the fans were on 100%. When I unplugged the 2nd monitor the idle temp dropped around 25c.

Other Thoughts: This is a solid card, but cannot handle a 2nd display. If you only run one monitor, I would say it's a great card.

5 out of 5 eggsVery satisfied.

Pros: This edition of the 7950 seems to cater to the ever increasing numbers of people in the enthusiast pc builder market heavily invested in aesthetics. Everything from the minimalist yet solid packaging the documentation seems to live up to what one can expect from such an old brand as XFX.

On to the goodies..
Extremely high quality. You can see how precisely crafted this card is, from the high quality flux which leaves no nasty residue around the contact points, to the expertly machined aluminium heatsink casing, it is almost a pity it is going inside my machine as opposed to being openly on display somewhere in a glass case.

Performance wise, it leaves nothing to be desired. Able to handle battlefield 3 which is one of the more visually intense games of today at a stable 60 fps maxed out at 1920x1080, it stuns me with its performance. Temperature wise, it tends to hit a maximum of about 70 C, which seems to be very tolerable. And under load, the fans are quieter than the stand-by hum of my samsung spinpoint F3's, which is pretty ridiculous. In my long and arduous trek through chipset manufacturer brands, i started with an old 7900gs by xfx and tried everything from asus to evga to gigabyte, I've found myself falling back to my roots in this iteration of the annual upgrade.

In short, Knockout card by ATI/AMD providing more than ample single core power for the enthusiast, perfected by the XFX brandname and premium.

Cons: None that i can think of at this time, except for driver stability. Upon opening this card, excitedly slotting it into my computer, and installing drivers; i found that i could not actually play the game i had anticipated playing that evening (WoW) due to a driver instability issue which caused the computer to cause extreme aritfacting/grayscreening which rendered certain games pre-DX11 standard unplayable. Going from a HD6950, i automatically assumed so, and restored to an earlier driver (212.03) which instantly fixed the problem. However, this was at the cost of a theoretical 10% performance, which is negligible unless taking into consideration the fact that i was going from a 6950... so it would have been rendered a pointless upgrade had i needed that extra power. It is not, however, an issue with modern games. Since then though, i assume there has been multiple revisions to address the instabilities. Not taking an egg off simply because its more a fault of an oudated graphics engine/api than the hardware/CCC.

Other Thoughts: Hopefully this has been helpful in selecting your new card, and hopefully its been enough to convince you to get one.

5 out of 5 eggsBEST GPU EVAR!!!

Pros: Great card. Ran all my games (planetside 2, bf3, blacklight retribution, skyrim, eve online) at 70-250 fps with vsync off and straight out of the box. Great temps: 31 C at idle and 63 C full load, 67 C overclocked to 1 ghz. Can't be happier even with a 680 and will probably cf this baby in the future. This is seriously one, if not the best 7950 of all (along with the sapphire and msi.)

3 free games as well, and not bad ones at all ;)

Cons: Lack of registered gpu overclocking software, but can be solved with msi afterburner. Nothing worth knocking off an egg.

Does not make me sandwhiches :P

no other cons at all +1 to XFX

Other Thoughts: currently exploding with happiness

5 out of 5 eggsSo very pleased

Pros: I made the jump from an older 5670 to the 7950. XFX has been good to me and I seeing this card I knew this was what I was waiting for. I had few problems with 8 gigs of ddr3 before but I chalked that up to the card. Now I play on the highest settings without a second thought. Quiet, low operating temperature... I could go on and on.

Cons: I am upgrading the hard drive and adding more memory to really push the rails. The only con I have seen is that it makes me want to push the card harder.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: I was hesitant to buy this card as it's over the $300 range. The most I've ever spent on a video card was $240, and that was back when the EVGA 460 1GB's had just come out. Seeing how this was the best bang for the buck (via reviews), I took a chance and bought this.

XFX is known for their amazing customer support and warranty, along with build quality, so I chose this brand. The dual fans ensure that it'll stay cooler than other models of the 7950 cards. I was a bit of an Nvidia fanboy, seeing how they have Physx, CUDA, and 3D Vision, but I never really used that anyway. It was time to retire both of my 460's and get something newer without the flaky-ness of SLI or Crossfire.

AMD's drivers aren't as nice as Nvidia's, but they do the job to get the card to run. I had no problems getting it set up to use. I overclock with MSI Afterburner and the card runs even better.

As for performance, this card performs exceptionally well. I run Crysis 2, Battlefield 3, and Metro 2033 on the highest settings with a 24" 1920x1200 monitor. No framerate issues, no stuttering, no lag, no overheating. The fans don't get too loud (then again, I'm used to two 460's in SLI and wearing a headset). I can't wait for the price to drop on these in the future so I can pick up another one for Crossfire when the time comes.

As an added bonus, I love how the card itself looks. White/silver case with red stripe on the top. It looks lovely in my Corsair 600D White.

PS: Don't forget XFX's Double Lifetime Warranty. That means you can sell your card in the future and whoever buys it also has a lifetime warranty - that's a great selling feature.

Cons: Lacks Nvidia's features such as Physx, CUDA, and 3D Vision, but rarely any games use Physx and Cuda and my monitor can't do 3D.

So really, there are no cons.

Other Thoughts: The 3 games it came with were Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Nexuiz, and Dirt: Showdown. I don't play these games, but I was able to activate them all on Steam and add value to my account.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great looking card and tears through every game on the market.
DD works well in my setup.

Cons: Card crashes regularly. Appears to be a common problem with the 79 series. Also appears to be a common thing among xfx cards.....

Other Thoughts: I am in the process of an RMA and refund so i can buy an Nvidia. I am an AMD fan all the way, but when it comes to graphics, i should stick with nvidia. They have never given me any problems in the past.
