4 out of 5 eggsDoes the job

Pros: Great video card for the price. Runs cool and quiet.

Cons: Been a huge fan of this company for such a long time and even recommended it to my friends and clients. But the VC Died after 4 years (RIP) lol. I tried to contact the manufacturers for an RMA but it took them 2 weeks to reply and only to notify me that their not gonna give me the RMA ticket because i didn't have the receipt back from 2012. Oh well I guess its safe to say that I wont be recommending this company (XFX) to anyone.

Other Thoughts: i would not recommend this company (XFX) to anyone. Because its hard to get help and even harder if you don't have the receipt. You're safer going for the brands like MSI, Gigabyte and even Zotac. They wont give you a hard time on the RMA. Thanks

3 out of 5 eggsWas a good card, but just died after a year

Pros: Felt like a solid card and ran any game I threw at it without a hitch.

Cons: After a year of use, it died. Oddly enough, just yesterday I got an auto update notification so did the run through and updated all the AMD drivers for it, and today my pc wouldn't boot. After further inspection, when I try to power it up, there was slight puff of smoke coming from the card and had a burnt smell.

Not sure what the deal was but it certainly feels like odd timing.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this card, even given the circumstances. I felt like it was a solid card for a fair price. Because of the circumstances and lifecycle though, I can't give it higher than 3 stars.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

It sounds like you are still having trouble getting your card stable. It should only take 2-3 minutes to install drivers and get up and running.

If you are still having trouble, please let us know. XFX Support

5 out of 5 eggsQuite good, served me well

Pros: Reasonable cost for high quality performance
Ran very cool for its entire lifetime

Cons: No complaints at all. However...

Other Thoughts: I got this a little over two years ago, as part of a Christmas computer build for myself, so I got it on a slight discount which made it an even more impressive bargain. It gave me no trouble at all and worked better than I could have expected. After a few months though, I started noticing the odd visual glitch. They came up very rarely, maybe a couple times a month at most, and never really caused trouble, barring one or two full screen distortions that forced a restart. I never thought much of it. But then, one day, it started to glitch on EVERYTHING. I could hardly run anything at all, but my desktop remained somewhat stable, though with artifacts. Yet, within about one day of first experiencing this, it acted up and suddenly crashed me while in a game, and I found that the entire card had given out, making me unable to even get into Windows and filling my Safe Mode with tons of visual artifacts. It was a very abrupt failure, and really discouraging on something that had otherwise worked completely fine and given me no hassle!

I suppose the signs that the VRAM was potentially decaying were there early on when I saw the glitches, but I really didn't expect it to fail so rapidly and spectacularly. I would still recommend the product (if this particular one was still being sold, heh); this is at least my story with it.

4 out of 5 eggsXFX Double D Radeon HD 7870

Pros: -I've had this card for about 6 months now, still runs smoothly and can run most games with good graphics if you take your time and overclock it a little.
-I can run fallout 4 on high-medium settings and get 60 FPS smoothly
-The card isn't loud at all, very quiet that being said, if you do overclock it to alot it can get loud because of the fans and such.
-The cards price is good for the quality of the card

Cons: -One con I found is the card is fairly large, that may be due to me just having a smaller computer case or because the card is a little large,
-The card seems to have alot of errors, The drivers seem to crash if you even try to watch 2 things or play a game in the background and watch a twitch live stream,

Other Thoughts: I would buy this card if you're on a budget, obviously there is better options out there. You think about yourself and see if the price is worth it. If you can spend more just buy a better one because there is much better ones out there but for the price of this card its pretty good deal.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't get it

Pros: It worked ok for about a year.

Cons: There are cards that are far better for around the same cost. After about a year it would frequently crash and cause the screen to flicker. Now it flickers every few minutes while gaming. I had to remove it from crossfire mode and now run my other card by itself. My gaming hasn't been soo smooth like this in ages. This card is basically junk. Don't get it.

1 out of 5 eggsDidn't Last too Long

Pros: Worked well for a while

Cons: This Video card was used minimally for the time I owned it. I tried to get customer service to warranty or see if they could help but their customer service is very poor. I started a ticket and received a response several days later asking for my receipt. I sent that over and they will not respond. If your not going to help out at least respond to my emails. No way to retain a customer!

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Joseph,

We're sorry for the delays, it was over a 4 day holiday weekend and our support staff was on leave to observe the Thanksgiving Holiday.

We are all caught up now.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsStill a great card 3 years later.

Pros: I bought this card from Newegg back in October of 2012 and 3 years later it is still running strong. Fans are still quiet and I have no issues playing any games I throw at it. Would love to find another one of these to run Crossfire with, but it is not the easiest thing to find 3 years later. Will eventually upgrade but am in no hurry to do so considering how well this card still runs. Didn't write a review back when I first got this card, but if anyone is looking at this card on the secondary market, in October 2015 it is still worth it.

Cons: None

4 out of 5 eggsLasted 2.5 Fantastic Years

Pros: This is (was, in my case) a fantastic graphics card when I bought it and it still is today. It's fast, relatively quiet, and cool. I was always very satisfied with it's performance.

Cons: It died after 2.5 years with very moderate use. One day it just stopped outputting video. I tried the HDMI, mini display ports and the DVI connections to no avail. I know that 2.5 years is a long time, but I have more heavily used computer components that have lasted longer and are still going strong. It is also sad because it is still a powerful and relevant card today. Sad that I had to put a 5 year old card in to replace it while the budget is tight.

Other Thoughts: Loved the card, just bummed it only lasted a couple of years. Probably would have gotten something cheaper if I had known it wasn't going to last longer.
