3 out of 5 eggsHot Hot card

Pros: This card can run almost everything i throw at it max settings with playable fps.
It was on sale and came with 2 free games.

Cons: Fan is noisy 80-100% fan speed.
This card gets extremely hot
45-55 degrees Celsius idle
80-100 degrees Celsius under load

Other Thoughts: This card is so hot I won't be buying another Radeon.
With rma's and repairs costing for shipping and/or 2-3weeks or more wait i'll just be replacing this card with a Nvidia.

On another note i'll be able to use this card for another pc that can double as a small home heater.

3 out of 5 eggsOne Dead One Malfunctioning

Pros: Quiet & powerful. Has not trouble with any of my games at max settings and 1920x1080.

Cons: See other thoughts.

Other Thoughts: My first unit only lasted a day or so before dying. And I mean it was totally dead. It would not even allow my PC to boot as it would hang on the VGA every time. Swap it out with my old 5770 and everything was fine. I figured I had just got a lemon so RMA'd it with Newegg. After a week or so I got my second unit. I run triple monitors so I knew I would need an active mini-display port adapter for this. I get my second unit in and running and all three monitors are working fine. Then my third monitor (the display port) stops getting a signal after about an hour of use. I figure my mini-display port adapter stopped working (its happened before) so I RMA'd it. Got the new adapter and plugged it in only to find that the third monitor STILL will not work. My PC will cannot even see the third monitor is there (which if the adapter were working in passive mode the PC should at least see it). At this point I am fairly certain the mini-display ports on my second 7870 are dead. This makes TWO lemons IN A ROW. That is not normal. You can take this with a grain of salt. But two cards with issues back to back is something that should be pointed out for potential buyers.

At this point, after multiple RMAs, I am probably going to have to go through XFX’s warranty process to get yet a third card and pray it works. When all is said and done, the money I saved getting this card when it was on sale will have gone to waste on paying the shipping charges for the multiple RMAs.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card for a great price

Pros: Amazing card. Plays most games on max or high settings with good frame rates. Handles PlanetSide 2, Battlefield 3/4, and Far Cry 3 like a boss. Much better value for the money then for the Nvidia equivalent. Made even more worth the cost by the fact that it comes with a lot of great games (Blood Dragon, Tomb Raider, Crysis 3, Bioshock Infinite, and Xcom)

Cons: None so far. Have had the card for about 5 months now.

Other Thoughts: Heatsink it comes with is excellent and keeps the card very cool and runs quietly.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for the great review!

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Card, will not disappoint!

Pros: Runs anything I throw at it at high or ultra. Games I have played on these settings:

Far Cry 3: around 30-40 fps
Bioshock Infinite: around 40-60 fps
Tomb Raider: around 40-60 fps
Crysis 2: around 40-60 fps
Assasin's Creed 3: around 40-60 fps

Card runs pretty cool.

Cons: Gets kind of loud under a load, but nothing too unbearable.

Other Thoughts: Overall I love this card. I'm running these games at 1366x768 so YMMV. I had some problems with the BF4 beta but I don't think it was graphics card related, LOTS of people were having issues with it with all sorts of different builds.

5 out of 5 eggsAwsome

Pros: The Card Runs quiet and well. It runs everything that I have thrown at it. Including heavy 3d rendering and any game at max settings. no screen lag frames are wonderful. I bought two and am running on a ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0 AM3+ with the AMD fx8350 Vishera 4.0 8 core of course there is only once the whole system hasn't been cracking and popping. Overclocked a small amount but didn't really need to.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I wish the red plate on the top came stock blue or at least a interchangeable.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Card

Pros: This card is awesome especially when I got it on sale the card is quiet if you keep it under 50% but if you put it higher then that you will hear it. It plays all my games on High and some on Ultra. I wish I got a 7950 though for the little more extra power would be awesome to have a crossfire for this.

Cons: No cons except that it can get loud if you put the fan speed over 50%

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card

Pros: This card is a great mid price range range card. That being said I am running 3 screens in an eyefinity setup (5750x1080) with this card and it has no issues until I try and play 3 instances of any game at that resolution. All those games being on ultra settings.

Cons: To get the third monitor to work you have to have an active converter from mini display port to what ever you want. Not the easiest thing to find at most local stores but I was able to pick one up off Neweeg for around $25-$30

Other Thoughts: I am very happy with this card and am thinking about buying another to toss on two more monitors to my setup.
