5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Bought 2 of these last holiday season to update my fiancee and my computers...just purchased a 3rd to build my kids a budget game rig this year for Xmas. Scores a 7.8 WEI for graphics. All 3 cards are pretty quiet, at least in my opinion. Runs everything out there...BF3 on ultra get over 60 fps on highest settings, same w/Skyrim...GW2 getting solid 40+ fps. Shorter form factor fits easily in about every case.

Cons: No 2gb version? Requires 2 power inputs.

Other Thoughts: Their new rig:
CM HAF 912 case
XFX HD-685A-ZCFC Radeon HD 6850 1GB 256-bit DDR5
16 GB G.Skill Ripjaw 1600
60GB Intel 330 series SSD boot drive
1TB WD Blue storage drive
600w OCZ Modstream pro modular PS
GIGABYTE GA-970A-UD3 AM3+ Motherboard
FX-8150 CPU w/liquid cooling

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Card

Pros: This card is awesome for the price. This is an awesome card for any gamer out there. With this card, I can run crysis on the highest settings at over 60 fps and skyrim with enb and over 20 mods on ultra settings at 40-60 fps. This card is awesome.

Cons: None so far.

3 out of 5 eggsSo loud

Pros: Solid craftsmanship. Great performance for price. Low wattage requirement. Plays Starcraft 2 on ultra with really good frame rates (i3-3220 processor).

Cons: So incredibly loud. The fan howls even at 10% throttle. I thought it was the fan noise against the aluminum casing, or the odd shaped rear vents. In fact, the fan is just really loud. Whatever type of bearing they are using is not working well.

Other Thoughts: Try another brand! Or be prepared to buy an aftermarket heatsink.

5 out of 5 eggs@ young fellow

Pros: Great card!

Cons: 2-6 pin power connectors, may be a con for some. Most other 6850's have 1.

Other Thoughts: @Young Fellow, Considering you have a PSU with 2-6pin pci connectors it works great, Although I would go with another 6850 with only 1, that way if you have the option you may crossfire more easily with less power consumption. The 6850 is also a better option to the similarly priced HD 7770 which is about as powerful as a 6790. Although if your looking to CFX* I would go with the hd 7770, get 2 off the bat for around $240, and you have a setup that will best a 7950 at a 7850 price with lower power consumption. Hope that helps. :)

5 out of 5 eggsHow does this operate?

Pros: Great midline graphics card!

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I would just like to know how this GPU operates, may someone tell me by just thumbs up or thumbs down?
