1 out of 5 eggsFailed after 4 months

Pros: Worked awesome until it didnt work anymore

Cons: Only after 4 months the card failed. Wrote a ticket for XFX support but still didnt get an answer. If they had better support system, I would mind a lot less. Im really disappointed with this company. Heard a lot of good things but they have failed me.

Other Thoughts: I swaped the card to other system to confirm that the card was faulty

5 out of 5 eggsLove XFX

Pros: I bought two of these things for crossfire and its pretty insane. At first i was worried about getting these cards because of all the bad reviews but I only buy XFX so i rolled the dice... No regrets (knock on wood). Both cards worked fine no DOA and didn't go up in smoke like for some reviewers. I do have an amazing case with a push pull config blowing directly on the top card and a push on the bottom with good spacing between both gfx cards. Played PS2 on ultra settings and the cards didn't go above 65C. In my other crossfire rig my top card is usually 10C higher. This one only a 2 - 3C difference. Point being if you have a good case with proper airflow you should not have any problems (I think). I have bought 6 xfx cards total in the past 3 and a half years and all have worked great, thank you XFX!

P.S. these cards are huge (even bigger than my 6870 black editions) So make sure you have a big case so you can not only fit these suckers in but maintain proper airflow as well.

Cons: none yet

Other Thoughts: Haven't had a chance to thoroughly test or OC these cards yet but I'm hoping to take them to 1200 mghz while maintaining ~85c full load. If it works ill let you guys know xD

1 out of 5 eggsGreat Card, Bad Support

Pros: Great card that can handle anything thrown at it.

Cons: Broke down after 6 months due to a coil problem and the RMA process is painful. Support leaves you in the dark and doesn't tell you whats happening with your card. It has been almost two months now since I last received any update about my card. If you go to their facebook page or read other reviews you can see other people with the same issue.

Other Thoughts: I wouldn't suggest buying it from this company, try a different company with better support.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, The RMA process was a bit cloudy over the last 2 months, but we are fully caught up and all units are on schedule. We apologize for any inconveniences this may have caused you. If you have any questions please contact us at neweggsupport@xfxforce.com

3 out of 5 eggs7970

Pros: Great GPU when it works.

Cons: Had to return this right away due to a very loud and annoying coil whine. 2nd card i got has 0 coil whine.

Other Thoughts: If your card has a whine return it asap it will not go away its a defective product.
The XFX customer support was good and they sent me a free mouse-pad and playing cards in the mail.

2 out of 5 eggsWorks for a little bit

Pros: It was a great card while it lasted. I was able to play my games on higher settings and it helped reduce some load times when going into a heavily populated area (think GW2 Jormag events). Easy to install and get up running.

Cons: About three months after it was purchased I started seeing artifacts appear on the screen. When I checked the temp for the card it was running around 70c and sometimes even less when they appeared. Recently though, I've had to take the card out and uninstall completely because my computer shuts down after opening any application other then the web browser. I thought I would e-mail XFX for support, but I havn't heard back from them at all, not even an acknowledgement e-mail. Their whole support website seems very low key, with broken English everywhere. If I didn't know better I would have thought this to be a scam website.

Other Thoughts: Great card...while it lasted. Terrible customer support so far(completely no contact). Would buy another brand if I had the choice.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, At this time our new support site is fully functional and the helpdesk is completely caught up. If you are still having any communcation issues, email me at neweggsupport@xfxforce.com and i will get your RMA started. Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsSo Far, a Strong Product...

Pros: Iam pleasantly satisfied with this card. I game mostly at 6080x1080 res. Eyefinity on 3 27" Viewsonics and this card preforms as expected for a 7970 Ghz card. Cooling is rather good with this design, card ranges from 36` Cel up to 69 Max that's w GPU OC 1110 and Mem Clock 1700. Overall if card holds up will be crossfiring soon once prices come down again w next gen cards on the horizon.

Cons: Price but as they say, "You get what you pay for."

Other Thoughts: Cant wait to Crossfire. Getting anywhere from 60-68 fps at 6080x1080. ( Bezel Comp.) on a Asrock Z77 Chipset. w Intel i5-3570K OC to 4.4 all on Air. Cant be Happier ;).

5 out of 5 eggsLove my XFX 7970

Pros: Nearly 3 months in card still running great still have not figured out my GTA 1v issue though. Been thinking about re-buying it during steams next sale with all of the GTA games as it seems to be an issue with installing from the disc. I bought this when Crysis 3 and Bioshock Infinite was free but they emailed me a code for the third game now listed Far cry 3 blood dragon. I like the way they treat you with free games that you didn't expect to get like that.

Cons: If you have a lanboy air case like me be careful installing the card as it won't fit if you pull out the motherboard tray to install it. You have to manually hold it in position while having someone else screw it in place. I did manage to do the installation by myself but suggest getting a friend to help out as it was a pain to do alone.

Other Thoughts: Not sure why it is getting so many bad reviews can only speak from my results but I don't overclock my card and have not had any issues, other then the fans blowing but that is because my case enhances noises lol.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Alone, Poor for Crossfire

Pros: Can play any game at max settings with a 1080p resolution without issue and many at 5760x1080 with fairly high settings. There are plenty of benchmarks out.

The twin cooling fans are fairly quite and are not even noticeable if you wear closed, circumaural design headphones during gameplay.

Cons: Horrible for Crossfire configurations. The card's cooling system needs to grab cool air from directly below it inside of the case. All of the hot air is then dumped around the card to be picked up by the card above it.

If you install two cards side by side without a gab you will have issues with the top card overheating, period. No amount of case fans or even a high velocity garage fan next to an open case is going to fix that.

If you install two cards with a gab it will work but you will need some high quality case fans blowing directly on the GPUs to prevent the top card from overheating. But expect the fans on the top card to be making some noise.

I would assume this issue is universal with a brands using this type of cooler system but should not be an issue with cards based on the reference design.

Other Thoughts: Virtually all the texture flickering and corruption issues many have mentioned have been resolved with the release of Catalyst Control Center 13.4
