4 out of 5 eggsDoes the job

Pros: Stays cool & quiet. Bought this card to make Cycles rendering in Blender bearable on my 5 year old Core 2 Duo E6750 Dell Optiplex 755 SFF. My primary machine blows it away but at least usable as a secondary machine now.

Cons: The fan shroud interfered with a large capacitor on the motherboard, so had to remove the shroud to get the card installed. The fans also interfere with the hard drive bracket, so I had to relocate the hard drive to the floppy drive bay. Definitely not a drop-in upgrade.

Other Thoughts: This card takes up 2 slots becase of the heatsink/fan combo. So if you're looking for a low profile card to drop in a small form factor OEM case, make sure you have at least one slot's worth of space between the PCIe connector and the rest of the components on the motherboard. Otherwise, find yourself a card that only takes up 1 slot.

3 out of 5 eggsAlmost there

Pros: Fit perfectly into an HP Slimline Pavilion as an upgrade to the factory supplied GT-220. My HP model is s5380t but would work in any of this same case. Also worked fine with the built-in 220W power supply over the last few days. Easy to install low profile bracket included. Was able to max out WoW to ultra on all but shadows and ground detail with this card. Fairly quiet fan profile.

Cons: The heatsink/fan assembly actually moves around because the two screws attaching it have too much play in the PCB holes. It's just sliding on the thermal paste. The first time I installed it the card was not recognized which was surprising. I reseated it and it ran 72C at idle causing my PC to hang intermittently! Finally realized it was the loose heatsink/fan assembly and moved the heatsink around until it finally settled down to 44C idle. After that it's been stable. I'm going to keep it running burn in for a few more days and see how it works out before considering an RMA. It's a fine card the does what it is supposed to, just poor assembly on the Double D design by XFX.

Other Thoughts: I unplugged the VGA connector ribbon cable to keep this a one slot solution.

5 out of 5 eggsNo Complaints

Pros: Card runs cool with the dual fans.

Low-profile and low power use; did not require the additional 6-pin power. Low-profile brackets were included.

The heat sink and fans seem to be pretty solid in construction. Much better than the garbage cards I had always bought before this.

Cons: If needing to use the low-profile brackets, the VGA ribbon cable can be a bit tight and need some work to get set into place. Not hard but not as easy as it could be.

Other Thoughts: Included COD4 Modern Warfare, a nice bonus. I let TF2 idle in game over the night, and in the morning, the case was still cool to the touch.

Reviews of cards in the similar range/market say this card is slightly overpriced and under performing in comparison. I consider myself to be a casual gamer only, and the performance meets my needs. I have no complaints, but nothing better to compare against.

The drivers installed easy under Windows XP SP3 and also in OpenSUSE 11.4. The card will run off of a 300 watt PSU, but anything more demanding than playing a DVD would cause the video driver to crash. Once the card was given an appropriate PSU (specs say 350 watt min.) the card has performed wonderfully.

As always shipping from Newegg is fast. Thank you, Newegg.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Product

Pros: Used to build a system on a budget and have been very impressed. It even came witht he shorter brackets if you have slim case. I like the fact you can run three monitors at the same time.

Cons: None found so far

1 out of 5 eggsReboot loop

Pros: Two fans

Cons: Installed driver of the disk onto Win7 32Bit Dell Optiplex 745, on the reboot got a blue screen, tried the latest Nvidia web site drivers, same thing. Very frustrated, wil just RMA it. Works fine in generic VGA mode.

Other Thoughts: I will go back to my AMD HD6670 card, at least it functions!

3 out of 5 eggsCard was defective or incompatible.

Pros: Very affordable card with lots of RAM and supports pci express 3.0.
Drivers were easy to install, although I had trouble reading the screen as it was very blocky because the card was defective.

Cons: Card was defective out of the box. Bad, blocky display using any of the three outputs and multiple monitors. It may be a nice card, I have no way to know since I had to return it.

Other Thoughts: The new motherboard came with built in video so I am using it for now. It looks great and works fine with Windows 7 64-bit. I disabled the built-in video and the card still was blocky. I tried it in 3 different pci express slots, so I am assuming it was defective. I tried my older geforce card and it worked fine as well, just is not a powerful card for todays games.

Newegg customer service was helpful in getting a return going.
