Cons: none so far

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent upgrade for Dell Optiplex 755 DT

This review is from: XFX One ON-XFX1-PLS2 Radeon HD 5450 1GB 64-Bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready Low Profile Ready Video Card

Pros: Good video upgrade
Cheap price for 1GB
Easy to install

Cons: Low profile adapter plate for VGA port doesn't work in all applications - in my case, a Dell Optiplex 755 Desktop

Other Thoughts: I am using this card in a Dell Optiplex 755 DT.
When you use a add-in video card to upgrade the video (say, for a Windows 8 upgrade) in Dell Optiplex Desktops (DT), the low profile adapter plates for the VGA port won't work because the video card slot is the last available slot on the left.
No problem, add a DVI-I to VGA port adapter and off you go! This is the only upgrade you need to bring your old Dell Core 2 Duo desktops up to Windows 8 x64. If you have the money, invest in an SSD & make sure your RAM is maxed out - 4GB in an Optiplex 755. All 755 Vista x64 drivers work with Windows 8 except for video. This card will fix that!

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for the great review. We are happy you are pleased.

2 out of 5 eggsruns hot but ok so far

This review is from: XFX One ON-XFX1-PLS2 Radeon HD 5450 1GB 64-Bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready Low Profile Ready Video Card

Pros: Its cheap, it does work, loaded without any problems

Cons: Runs at 80c so maybe sensor is out or something, but it is running. A little disappointed in Newegg which had it on the rebate search page even though the rebate had expired the day before

Other Thoughts: I also recently bought the MSI card that is essentially the same for the same price and its better

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Jimmy,

We're sorry you are having issues with the rebate tracking #. please contact us at neweggsupport@xfxforce.com.

We can help you get the rebate approved.

As far as the temperature is concerned... its a wee-bit warm, we really dont expect to see them get that high unless they are under consistent 100% load with low-air movement in the case. It should work as intended at 80'C up to 95'C though.

1 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: XFX One ON-XFX1-PLS2 Radeon HD 5450 1GB 64-Bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready Low Profile Ready Video Card

Pros: only $9 AR.

Cons: Like many other said this thing gets really hot. It is easy to accommodated, to install a small fan on the video card cooler. But, that costs money and violates the silentness that it advertised.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, we're sorry you had concerns with your card.

This card is safe up to 95'C, but should stay around the 70'C range. They simply dont need a fan and are commonly confused with CPU temps which need to stay down near the 60's.

4 out of 5 eggsVideo is good - fits Dell Optiplex desktops

This review is from: XFX One ON-XFX1-PLS2 Radeon HD 5450 1GB 64-Bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready Low Profile Ready Video Card

Pros: This card fits into any Dell Optiplex desktop style case with correct PCI port
Good graphics
No fan!

Cons: Low profile adapter is not usable with Dell Optiplex desktop case computers. This was the reason I purchased it. On Optiplex desktop systems, the video card slot is the last slot to the left. The low profile adapter only fits with the VGA port to the left of the card, not the right (the cable is too short) so there is no space to mount it. I had to use a DVI - VGA adapter and chuck the VGA port & plate. This isn't a big issue but it's more money and may cause issues in tight spaces.

Other Thoughts: Used in a Dell Optiplex 755 desktop

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for the great review. We appreciate your kind feedback.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for replacement onboard video

This review is from: XFX One ON-XFX1-PLS2 Radeon HD 5450 1GB 64-Bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready Low Profile Ready Video Card

Pros: Great 1/2 height card.

Cons: You can easily loose the full height bracket.

VGA pins not labled, and you have a chance of connecting the cable backwards.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello and thank you for your review.

The VGA port should be an isosceles trapezoid, making it so the Vga cable can only fit 1 way, the correct way.

or did you mean the ribbon?
On the VGA cable you will find a colored band and an arrow to indicate which way it plugs into the PCB.

if you have any quesitons, please contact us at neweggsupport@xfxforce.com.

1 out of 5 eggsMaybe I got a bad batch

This review is from: XFX One ON-XFX1-PLS2 Radeon HD 5450 1GB 64-Bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready Low Profile Ready Video Card

Pros: Good price. Low profile bracket included. Passive heatsink.

Cons: Failure rate!

Other Thoughts: I purchased 6 of these cards in Dec. 2013 for 2 different clients that needed dual monitor support and 3 have failed in the first 5 months. I have used XFX products for years but I think they got a bad batch of RAM for these cards.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

We're sorry you are having issues with this card. Failure rates are typically under 1%.

What are you using these cards for?

We would be happy to help you with the replacements.

2 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: XFX One ON-XFX1-PLS2 Radeon HD 5450 1GB 64-Bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready Low Profile Ready Video Card

Pros: Inexpensive

Cons: I purchased this card for use in a home theater, but found that output from the HDMI port at 1080P flickered quite a bit making this card less than great.
Could not get the ATI Catalyst Control Center installed. Blue screened every time I tried to install it.

Other Thoughts: I ended up using an ASUS EN210 SILENT which cost me only 5 bucks more and 1) faster 2) doesn't flicker 3) installed without glitch

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Ken, it sounds like you may have an older Motherboard that doesnt support PCI-E 2.0. We would be happy to invesitgate this for you.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card for business use

This review is from: XFX One ON-XFX1-PLS2 Radeon HD 5450 1GB 64-Bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready Low Profile Ready Video Card

Pros: Renders 2560x1080 on my Dell U2913WM perfectly using the HDMI connection. Screen fonts are crisp and clean. At the same time, my other (dual, extended) monitor is an older Dell 1901FP running 1280x1024.

Cons: Does not have built-in K-cup brewer.

Other Thoughts: Netflix and other video is smooth.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for the great review. We appreciate the positive feedback.
