5 out of 5 eggsI would like to write a retraction for this product

Pros: It's an excellent card that can play many games on High settings @60fps.

Cons: Frame rate drops whenever playing games on Ultra (there are a few exceptions), AA doesn't work well past 4x. Direct X11 features and Physx technology DOES NOT WORK WELL with this card (since it's AMD brand, duh.)

Only 1 GB dedicated video RAM makes it seem outdated for new generation of gaming.

Noisy.

Other Thoughts: This card works. My previous review was incorrect.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for the great review!

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent value

Pros: I bought this card to replace the piece of garbage I had in my 2007 Mac Pro and it's worked great ever since. It hasn't flinched with any game I've thrown at it yet although granted, I play more retro games and emulators than anything else. I can play Half Life 2 on 1920x1080 with all settings maxed and I get no hiccups or slow downs. Also works well with all the C&C games I played.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Really good card for the money.

2 out of 5 eggsDead after 6 months of light use

Pros: Amazing performance for the cost, played most games on high/ultra settings without any issues.

Cons: Randomly died during use after 6 months, with no apparent heat issues.

Other Thoughts: Ticket open with XFX, will update review/rating depending on warranty/support outcome.

1 out of 5 eggs"Unable to detect XFX product:"

Pros: Looks nice on box.

Cons: I don't understand.

I installed this thing in my PCI slot like normal, and it says whenever I install the CD that it canot find the product. Whats worse, is that sometimes the entire monitor won't come up when the 6 pin PCI slot is inserted in any way.

Simply put, this doesn't work. Ive never used RMA, but it looks like ill have to.

I want either a replacement, a full return, or at least store credit.

Other Thoughts: NOT HAPPY

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Lang, please contact me at neweggsupport@xfxforce.com and i will help you resolve this immediately. It is like a windows 8 Secure boot issue. Thank you

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Quite, runs cool, can run new games on high/ultra for a lesser card w/ 1 gb.

Cons: Only has 1 gb total memory.

Other Thoughts: Even with the low memory size it can handle new games( Fallout New Vegas, Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon, Htman: Absolution, and The Witcher 2) on Ultra settings, definitely a budget card that has amazing capabilities.

Manufacturer Response:

We're glad its working great for you. We appreciate the positive review. As always, if you have any questions, please contact us at neweggsupport@xfxforce.com. Play Hard!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat price, great performance!

Pros: Awesome performance for the price!!!
Needs/costs relatively less electricity to run!
Stays very cool, I haven't seen it reach 60c (my room temperature is ~25c, my case is the Lian-Li PC-P50).
Very quiet, I never hear the fans run.
It will play all the highest-demanding games such as BF3 on ultra at 40fps, 60+fps if you turn down Anti-Aliasing (tested on a single 1080p monitor and a Phenom II 965).
Short PCB so it will fit in small form factor cases.

And it looks cool!

Cons: Only 1GB memory on this particular model (however the price is much cheaper compared to a 2GB model), but this is not a problem for games if you are playing on one monitor <= 1200p. It may become an issue if you plan on using eyefinity with high texture resolutions or using texture mods (on a single screen), for example GTA or Skyrim high res mods.

Other Thoughts: I upgraded from a stock 1GB 5870, and this card runs games significantly faster while using less power and running cooler! According to AnandTech benchmarks, the 7850 uses 57 less watts on idle and around 100 less watts during load.

If I ran my computer 6 hours a day and played 2 hours of games a day, and assuming one KWH costs 13 cents, I would save around 25$ a year just from upgrading.

At the time of this review, I have owned the card for 2 months.

4 out of 5 eggsfollow-up

Pros: Follow up to "needs work" post below. Working very well now. RMA took a little over 2 weeks from the time I first asked for an RMA to the time I received my replacement card. I think that's good. The new card works well. Also got the rebate card the same day. YaY!

Cons: None, happy camper now thank you!

Manufacturer Response:

Great! We're happy everything is back to normal. As always, if you need anyting, please contact us at neweggsupport@xfxforce.com. Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Card

Pros: For a high end card, this card is whisper quiet and runs extremely cool (I never see this card peak above 55C) This card replaced the 5770 I had and it is roughly the same length and still uses only one PCIe power connector :D

Cons: None :D

Other Thoughts: I have a Phenom 965BE O/C'd at 4GHz, this card chugs along nicely on games like BF3, Planetside 2, Borderlands 2 all on High.
