2 out of 5 eggsdont think about getting the rebate...

This review is from: XFX One ON-XFX1-DLX2 Radeon HD 5450 2GB 64-bit DDR3 PCI-Express Low Profile Ready Video Card

Pros: price was ok without the rebate. mediocre graphics card, but considering the price, you cant expect a lot.

Cons: 1. customer service for rebate sucks! I sent in all the necessary paperwork, waited over 2 months for rebate, contact them and they tell me that I didn't include the receipt (I know I did, but whatever). bought the card on jan. 13th. mailed in rebate forms on the 16th or so. I contacted them on march 26th. told me to RE-SUBMIT a copy of the receipt and they would process the rebate. mailed on the 28th and get an email on april 10th saying that the rebate was denied due to being out of the promotion date. WHAT?! dates were from jan. 6th to feb 28th. how was I out of date? oh wait, because I RE-SUBMITTED in march, I was out of the target date! if that's the case, then why have me re-submit it? not only did I waste my time printing out ANOTHER receipt, I wasted a stamp!
2. unless you have a newer tower and motherboard with at least 2 open slots, don't buy this card. even though it has all the brackets to make it fit (low profile and such), if you have an older case, you cant set up dual monitors. the case that I have is from a dell, and I had to do some finagling to get a dual set up. the position of the outputs are off set, so that makes it hard to set up. kind of a pain. just something to keep in mind.

I will no longer being purchasing xfx products, especially ones with rebates!

Other Thoughts: I could go on and on about the situation, but now I have spent more than $15 worth of time venting.

4 out of 5 eggsRevised Review

This review is from: XFX One ON-XFX1-DLX2 Radeon HD 5450 2GB 64-bit DDR3 PCI-Express Low Profile Ready Video Card

Pros: Probably one of the top notch gpu you can get for a HTPC!

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: After my last review, I able to get in touch with the Manufacturer and their support team was very helpful and guided me through everything. I'm running the gpu on a "Gateway SX Series SX2110G-UW23" and it's amazing! LOVE the everything about it.

1 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: XFX One ON-XFX1-DLX2 Radeon HD 5450 2GB 64-bit DDR3 PCI-Express Low Profile Ready Video Card

Pros: None, the card didn't boot up on my computer. Connection was through the VGI running Windows 8 with "secure boot" disabled.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I'm trying to get the card replaced. Several really good reviews on the product...I guess I just got lucky and ended up with the defective one.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, We're sorry you are having issues with your card. Have you tried any other cards that work? Perhaps this card in a different computer? The Windows 8 UEFI bios issue is simple enough to resolve, but all of our newer cards should have a compatible UEFI bios.

Pleaes contact us at neweggsupport@xfxforce.com for further assistance.

Thank you

4 out of 5 eggsGood video card

This review is from: XFX One ON-XFX1-DLX2 Radeon HD 5450 2GB 64-bit DDR3 PCI-Express Low Profile Ready Video Card

Pros: Great video card for an older computer. It doubled my windows experience index.

Cons: Included software CD was a bit quirky for Windows 7. It appeared to work, then didn't, then did. I finally got it installed.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for the great review!

Pros: This card gives you all you can ask for for the price. I multi-box Everquest with it and I have no video chop even in heavily populated areas.

Cons: None yet.

Other Thoughts: I just don't think you can beat the deal on this card.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Card for refurbishing Older systems

This review is from: XFX One ON-XFX1-DLX2 Radeon HD 5450 2GB 64-bit DDR3 PCI-Express Low Profile Ready Video Card

Pros: I have used this card in older systems with PCI-E slots. It has worked beautifully to support older games - the last one I have done was for a teenager that wanted to play League of Legends. The card update boosted her FPS and load performance considerably. The family is very happy with the refurbished system they purchased from me - and this was a very cost - effective card to use to boost the graphics performance.

Cons: Gets warm - but with an exhaust fan pulling air across it - venting just fine.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Radeon HD 5450 implementation

This review is from: XFX One ON-XFX1-DLX2 Radeon HD 5450 2GB 64-bit DDR3 PCI-Express Low Profile Ready Video Card

Pros: Low profile and smaller passive heat sink make it easier to install and fit. 2 GB DD3R. The old 512MB version has a huge heat sink that extend the height of the board by .5 inch and the back side by .5 inch and that make upgrading in a small computer a big hassle. This new 2 GB version must have use a smaller semiconductor node size to reduce the heat and increase the yield. Windows Experience Index for this 2 GB vs the old 512 MB in my 4 year old computer is Graphic 4.2 vs 3.0 and Gaming Graphics 6.0 vs 5.5.

Cons: None with respect to various Radeon HD 5450 implementations.

Other Thoughts: Bought 2, but rebate only allows 1 per household.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty good card

This review is from: XFX One ON-XFX1-DLX2 Radeon HD 5450 2GB 64-bit DDR3 PCI-Express Low Profile Ready Video Card

Pros: Very good card.
Gave a pretty decent boost in FPS.
Went from low to Medium settings immediately
supports two monitors.
Very quiet due to heat-sink
Came with Low profile bracket.
Fits in very tiny case.

Cons: Very hot, This card gets extremely hot in my tiny case (Reason why I got a low profile card) Luckily I have a fan that blows directly on it. Before turning the fan on, the graphics card got to very very hot temperatures, but putting a fan on it solved that problem.
Can't run newest games so well

Other Thoughts: Driver Installation was very easy, took just a few minutes, and after that i tested it on a few games, I do have a fairly old computer (3 Gigs of ram, Dual core processor) and it still boosted my frames, i guess my old integrated card was that problem. I tested it on World Of Warcraft went from Low to all ultra except Shadows, Liquid, and a few other graphic intensive settings, and it ran like a champ.
Also, I'm Running this with a 220W power supply, so it doesn't require a whole lot of power.
I have to say, it was a great upgrade from my integrated card.
Overall great graphics card for the price, Just watch out for the heat-sink, get's awfully hot.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Zeniuz,

We're sorry you are having trouble with this card. Are you getting any overheating issues? What temperatures are you seeing? We designed this card to be exceptionally stable, if you have any issues what-so-ever, please email neweggsupport@xfxforce.com for help. Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsWindows 8.1 stable and works in a PCIe Version 1.0 slot

This review is from: XFX One ON-XFX1-DLX2 Radeon HD 5450 2GB 64-bit DDR3 PCI-Express Low Profile Ready Video Card

Pros: Yes the box says PCI-E 2.1, and YES it does work in older PCI-E version 1.0 slot (at least in my ancient Dell Vostro 400). Replaced the nVidia 8300GS whose drivers are completely unstable (as in BSOD) under Windows 8.1 - I tried 5 different NVidia drivers from the nVidia website and tried all of the Windows 8 forum recommendations. Simple, easy, low risk.

No fan, clean PCIx card design, Newegg had it, and a rebate to boot

Cons: Install not quite Windows 8.1 friendly ---- Go to the drivers folder on the CD and run the setup from the appropriate folder

Other Thoughts: If you have an older desktop and need a better / stable card for Windows 8.1, this is a good option to try.

2 out of 5 eggsBe wary

This review is from: XFX One ON-XFX1-DLX2 Radeon HD 5450 2GB 64-bit DDR3 PCI-Express Low Profile Ready Video Card

Pros: Good price with rebate; nice hardware package.

Cons: Software sucks - crashed my system, required rollback to earlier state before would boot.

Other Thoughts: Bought this to replace an on-board ATI HD 3300 with only 512 of ram. Figured system is already using ATI, so an ATI add-on board should work fine. Wrong. Native Windows 8 software auto-loaded but left my desktop buggy and jerky with a performance rating of 2 (the on-board 3300 had come in at 4). Downloaded ATI's Catalyst drivers, which raised the performance all the way to 2.4 and then crashed my system on the second day, requiring a roll-back before I could even re-boot. Believe it, I will NOT be buying an ATI product for the next upgrade.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, we're sorry you are having trouble with this card. Please contact me at neweggsupport@xfxforce.com and I will be happy to help you resolve this issue.
