4 out of 5 eggsWorks Fine

This review is from: XFX One Radeon HD 5450 ON-XFX1-DLX2 2GB 64-Bit DDR3 PCI-Express Low Profile Ready Video Card

Pros: Price, Simple installation

Cons: None considering the low price

Other Thoughts: Replaced a failing HD5700 in a 5+ years old Asus P5KE/Intel Core 2 Q6600 Win 7 system. It may not test as well as the 5700, but it drives a 27" Samsung monitor just fine for general non-gaming use.
Only "problem" is that HDMI to HDMI performance is poor. Had to used DVI to DVI cable. This appears to be a problem with either my monitor or my PC -- probably not a flaw of the XFX card itself.
Don't understand the complaint of one customer about Newegg packaging and customer service. Card arrived with protective packing by Newegg in the extreme and I've NEVER had a problem with Newegg.

This review is from: XFX One Radeon HD 5450 ON-XFX1-DLX2 2GB 64-Bit DDR3 PCI-Express Low Profile Ready Video Card

Pros: $20 mail in rebate

Cons: Card stopped working in less than one week. Less than 5 boots. Returning for refund. I'm out more money for shipping but what can you do? First and last XFX. First impressions are a big deal to me.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

W'ere sorry you experienced issues. If you have any issues with your replacement, please let us know.

4 out of 5 eggsWorth the money

This review is from: XFX One Radeon HD 5450 ON-XFX1-DLX2 2GB 64-Bit DDR3 PCI-Express Low Profile Ready Video Card

Pros: Easy to install. It automatically disabled the onboard video which is nice. That means, my RAM is now using its full capacity for the OS. This card has extended the life of my PC by another few years.

Cons: I have a good case with plenty of fans and circulation. This card gets really hot. It is currently running at 125F, and this is with the default settings. I still recommend this card if you are buying it with decent rebate.

Other Thoughts: I am not a gamer, so I just wanted my windows and browsers launch faster. I also watch movies on my computer occasionally and the HD movies were jerky with the onboard video which had 1/2 Gig. I expected a lot more out of a video card with 8 times as much RAM. But the performance is better, not super but adequate.

I have filled out the rebate form and sent it in with the required documentation. Lets see if I get the rebate.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for the great review.

We can manually approve rebates if you have any questions, pleaset contact us.

3 out of 5 eggsIt's kinda "eh"

This review is from: XFX One Radeon HD 5450 ON-XFX1-DLX2 2GB 64-Bit DDR3 PCI-Express Low Profile Ready Video Card

Pros: It's compact, quiet (duh, no fan) and easy to install once you disable your onboard graphics. CD failed so just went to the website for the install and drivers. Always love the Catalyst Control Center -- gives you everything you need to install, tune and update. Once installed the card worked fine for what I needed.

Cons: VERY quirky with Win 8.1. Lost the "sleep" function in the shut-down menu, as well as a few other power-saving options. Also, Windows was telling me I had 2 monitors installed: a generic non-pnp and a generic pnp. This caused the cursor to extend way off the screen to the right, supposedly to the non-existent 2nd monitor, which makes it virtually impossible to access the charm bar. Did considerable research on both these issues and it seems they're common problems, but non of the remedies worked. GPU issue or Windows issue, it's annoying.

Other Thoughts: Because of the issues noted above, I pulled the card and went back to the onboard graphics for now. Everything is back to normal. I'll probably drop this in an older Win 7 machine and hope I don't run into similar problems.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Randy,

It sounds like you have a driver installatoin issue, or you installed on top of an Anti-Virus/malware protection that wasn't willing to let the drivers completly install all functions.

Please contact us for support and a quick guide to fix this issue.

3 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: XFX One Radeon HD 5450 ON-XFX1-DLX2 2GB 64-Bit DDR3 PCI-Express Low Profile Ready Video Card

Pros: Had a nice box and the card looked good. This card shut down the on board video function of the motherboard when installed and this allowed my to teach my son how to trouble shoot those problems. FOR THIS I GIVE 3 STARS!

Cons: I needed a Video card for my sons computer that I am showing him how to build and program. We got the card and it did not function at all.

Other Thoughts: I know why Newegg products are usually dead on arrival and I have told them every time I have to RMA a product.

THEY JUST DON'T CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER ENOUGH TO TAKE CARE OF THE ISSUE!!!!!!!!

All Newegg needs to do is put padding underneath the and sides of the shipping products not just at the top of everything leaving the sides and bottom exposed to impact from being tossed around during shipping. Newegg just hasn't figured out yet what the rest of the world has known since man walked upon the earth. If you don't protect it, it will get damaged.

Manufacturer Response:

Hey Jens

Thank you for the review.

We want you to know, we stand by our XFX Products 100%. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us. If the display still isnt working, we can provide steps to help resolve that.

5 out of 5 eggsBetter Graphics

This review is from: XFX One Radeon HD 5450 ON-XFX1-DLX2 2GB 64-Bit DDR3 PCI-Express Low Profile Ready Video Card

Pros: This video card is an exceptional replacement for the built-in video found in most motherboards today. I believe the maximum number of displays it will support is 2 as I was not able to configure it with 3 monitors. I did however use it as an addition to my onboard graphics which supports 3 separate monitors for a total of 5 monitors monitors. (Make sure your motherboard bios is properly set to support onboard + the XFX One Video Card.

For those who may be thinking of using this card in a Virtual Machine enviroment, it works very well as a video passthrough device, ex: unRAID. ;-)

Cons: No real Cons.

Other Thoughts: Doesn't seem to support 3 monitor ouputs, although this feature was tested only in a Windows 7 environment.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for the great review. Quick and informative. Also, this card only supports 2 monitors.

If you have any questions, please let us know.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat For The Money

Pros: Love It! Inexpensive and easy to install.

Cons: Lot's up updating needed. Interface menu could be a little more straight forward. More of a programming issue than a hardware issue.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Product

This review is from: XFX One Radeon HD 5450 ON-XFX1-DLX2 2GB 64-Bit DDR3 PCI-Express Low Profile Ready Video Card

Pros: Performs. Silent.

Cons: Depending on your case design, with the low profile bracket, the HDMI port can be close to the edge of the case. This could interfere with using an HDMI cable that has a "beefy" end to the cable. I had to use one with a smaller end. Not a really big deal.

Other Thoughts: Can't really beat this for the price.

I bought this card as a replacement for the stock video in a Dell OptiPlex 760 I got for a steal from Newegg, so I could use it as a replacement for my ailing HTPC. I'm using Win7 Pro 64 Bit.

I haven't used it for any gaming purposes but it works very well with XBMC (Kodi) playing 1080p material (MKV). Dolby TrueHD through the HDMI port works perfectly, unlike some other experiences I have had where the HDMI handshake fails or the pass through/decode doesn't work at all.

XFX recommends 400 watt PSU but this Dell only has a 255 and I have had no problems, although as I said I haven't put it under a load like gaming would. The card runs warm (SpeedFan reports 50-58 C) and considering the CPU in this machine is also heat sink cooled and the small form factor that is pretty good in my book.

The chassis on my machine is SFF, and XFX provides a bunch of plate options for the back of the card.

AMD provides the ability to accelerate video encoding, but I haven't tried it. You have to download an optional component from them to install it.
