5 out of 5 eggsGreat For The Money

This review is from: XFX One ON-XFX1-DLX2 Radeon HD 5450 2GB 64-Bit DDR3 PCI-Express Low Profile Ready Video Card

Pros: Love It! Inexpensive and easy to install.

Cons: Lot's up updating needed. Interface menu could be a little more straight forward. More of a programming issue than a hardware issue.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Product

This review is from: XFX One ON-XFX1-DLX2 Radeon HD 5450 2GB 64-Bit DDR3 PCI-Express Low Profile Ready Video Card

Pros: Performs. Silent.

Cons: Depending on your case design, with the low profile bracket, the HDMI port can be close to the edge of the case. This could interfere with using an HDMI cable that has a "beefy" end to the cable. I had to use one with a smaller end. Not a really big deal.

Other Thoughts: Can't really beat this for the price.

I bought this card as a replacement for the stock video in a Dell OptiPlex 760 I got for a steal from Newegg, so I could use it as a replacement for my ailing HTPC. I'm using Win7 Pro 64 Bit.

I haven't used it for any gaming purposes but it works very well with XBMC (Kodi) playing 1080p material (MKV). Dolby TrueHD through the HDMI port works perfectly, unlike some other experiences I have had where the HDMI handshake fails or the pass through/decode doesn't work at all.

XFX recommends 400 watt PSU but this Dell only has a 255 and I have had no problems, although as I said I haven't put it under a load like gaming would. The card runs warm (SpeedFan reports 50-58 C) and considering the CPU in this machine is also heat sink cooled and the small form factor that is pretty good in my book.

The chassis on my machine is SFF, and XFX provides a bunch of plate options for the back of the card.

AMD provides the ability to accelerate video encoding, but I haven't tried it. You have to download an optional component from them to install it.

1 out of 5 eggsIt's not working

This review is from: XFX One ON-XFX1-DLX2 Radeon HD 5450 2GB 64-Bit DDR3 PCI-Express Low Profile Ready Video Card

Pros: None yet

Cons: I plugged it in and when I started the computer all I got was a black screen. I thought it was my power supply but I bought a 520 watt PSU and that didn't work I think it's faulty I have no idea.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsNice Card

This review is from: XFX One ON-XFX1-DLX2 Radeon HD 5450 2GB 64-Bit DDR3 PCI-Express Low Profile Ready Video Card

Pros: Inexpensive card.
Silent

Cons: CD with drivers didn't work, but it isn't a big deal.
Nothing so far but still too early to tell.

Other Thoughts: Bought this card to replace on board graphics and this works great. The CD for the drivers didn't want to cooperate but that is why I have the internet. I have been monitoring for just how high the temps get with normal usage (i.e. internet surfing, watching movies/youtube ect.) no gaming and the temps went up to around 60 degrees C. I have thought about adding a dedicated fan to help or just apply some better thermal paste to heatsink. My computer motherboard has a PCI-Express x16 slot and the box the graphics card came in said PCI-Express 2.1. It turns out it works no matter what version the card is, I just won't be getting full throttle of the card. I am happy that it works in that slot. I guess you learn something new everyday. Overall, I am satisfied with how the graphics card is performing so far but as i said earlier it is too early to tell.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for the great review, we appreciate the positive feedback.

2 out of 5 eggsdont think about getting the rebate...

This review is from: XFX One ON-XFX1-DLX2 Radeon HD 5450 2GB 64-Bit DDR3 PCI-Express Low Profile Ready Video Card

Pros: price was ok without the rebate. mediocre graphics card, but considering the price, you cant expect a lot.

Cons: 1. customer service for rebate sucks! I sent in all the necessary paperwork, waited over 2 months for rebate, contact them and they tell me that I didn't include the receipt (I know I did, but whatever). bought the card on jan. 13th. mailed in rebate forms on the 16th or so. I contacted them on march 26th. told me to RE-SUBMIT a copy of the receipt and they would process the rebate. mailed on the 28th and get an email on april 10th saying that the rebate was denied due to being out of the promotion date. WHAT?! dates were from jan. 6th to feb 28th. how was I out of date? oh wait, because I RE-SUBMITTED in march, I was out of the target date! if that's the case, then why have me re-submit it? not only did I waste my time printing out ANOTHER receipt, I wasted a stamp!
2. unless you have a newer tower and motherboard with at least 2 open slots, don't buy this card. even though it has all the brackets to make it fit (low profile and such), if you have an older case, you cant set up dual monitors. the case that I have is from a dell, and I had to do some finagling to get a dual set up. the position of the outputs are off set, so that makes it hard to set up. kind of a pain. just something to keep in mind.

I will no longer being purchasing xfx products, especially ones with rebates!

Other Thoughts: I could go on and on about the situation, but now I have spent more than $15 worth of time venting.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

We're sorry you had isues with the rebate company. The company handling the Newegg Rebates is not XFX, but i can help you contact them to help resolve any issues.

Please contact us at neweggsupport@xfxforce.com.

Thank you
