4 out of 5 eggsPerformance Budget Style

Pros: The awesomeness:
1- 2 gig DDR3 memory
2- Whisper quiet fan
3- 128 bit
4- Decent GPU heatsink
5- Runs cool even under heavy load
6- NO mini HDMI
7- HDMI/VGA/DVI ports
8- Cool gamer doorknob sign included
9- No PCI-E 6 pin required
10 PCI-E 2.1 backwards compatible with PCI-E 2.0/ 1.1/1.0
11- 480 streaming processors
12- XFX quality
13- Decent performer with right combo
14- I bought two so far @ $69.99 (customer purchases)

Cons: What not so cool:
1- DDR3 instead of DDR5
2- I wanted one for myself for free LOL

Other Thoughts: I know alot of online reviewers use this card with less than the recommended *min 400 watt power supply. Although it will run on less I know for a fact you will take a big performance hit if you choose to do so. There is a huge difference between at idle draw and under heavy load; hence why AMD recommends at least a 400 watt power supply. For grins I installed this card in my build; before putting it in a customer's Ubuntu 14.04 LTS x64 pc. In a large heavy graphical 3-d world I was clocked at approx. 62 FPS...connected via HDMI to 32" LED tv @ 1280x720p resolution: AMD FX-4100 Black Edition Quad-core oced to mild 3.9Ghz/core...8 gig Crucial DDR3 1333 RAM oced to 1400 MHz...Rosewill Hive 750 watt power supply...MSI AM3+ board...Ubuntu 14.04 LTS x64 OS...I am impressed and so are the two customers I recommended it to. If you are going to use this card for budget gaming/HD streaming you need to get at least a 400 watt power supply for max performance. This was a walmurtt.com purchase and I got it "site to store" in **two** days. This is second one I ordered (for customer) and with right combo packs quite a graphical punch. When building a pc think of it as building a drag car engine...all in combination of parts you use whether it turns out to be great performer, or a dog.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid performance for the price and form factor.

Pros: I initially bought this card because it was the best slimline GPU I could find for the computer I had at the time. It is *capable* of running skyrim, bioshock infinite, Borderlands 2, and a whole host of other games you wouldn't think a card at this price point would handle. You do have to turn the detail down, though.

Cons: My card has a bad fan, but that's kind of to be expected after nearly 2 years of pretty much 24/7 operation. It's still working, it just makes a lot more noise than it should.

The DDR3 version of this card is significantly performance handicapped. If possible, buy the 1GB GDDR5 version. Not enough to dock half an egg, though. Like I said, it's a good GPU in its price range.

You cannot use 3 monitors with this card without 2 of them being hooked up through either the DVI port or the HDMI port. It may have D-Sub, DVI and HDMI, but it will not run monitors on all three of them at the same time. Dock .5 egg.

Other Thoughts: If the XFX 280x was a little bit cheaper, I would have bought that card for my upgrade instead of the Gigabyte version. I love XFX's warranty and the styling on their cards.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for the great review, we appreciate the positive feedback.

We might have a replacement fan available for that model that we could send you free of charge.

If you have any questions, please let us know.

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad for indie gaming, etc a bit overpriced these days..

Pros: This is a decent card. If you do your research you'll know this was a high quality card back in the day and was running games/etc quite well at the time. However, it's dated nowadays and I believe I actually got it cheaper at the time than newegg is actually selling it for right now.

Cons: Not really too many cons, you get what you get. Of course if you expect it to be a giant upgrade these days, you're going to be upset.

Other Thoughts: I bought this card back in July/August for a really cheap gaming PC I was making after I moved and didn't really have anything but a cheap laptop. I made a decent enough PC at the time that could play BF3/4 on medium and on a dual-core, so if that gives you an idea, and helps in anyway, make your decision upon that. However, if for whatever reason you decide to buy this card in 2015, do not buy it for 69.99. that is a total rip off for what you can buy with just 10-20 bucks more.

1 out of 5 eggsVery disappointed

Pros: 2 gigs of Ram, HDMI 1080p output, when purchased lifetime warranty if registered within 30 days. registered 3 cards same night as the purchase

Cons: Now a little over a year later, one of the video cards has a dying fan. Went to log into the support portal, and my account does not exist. Re-created my account, but didn't want to register any of the cards again, am hoping their customer service will respond quickly (website said 1-2 days to review). No 800 number to call on the website.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, We're sorry you are having issues with your card. Please contact us at neweggsupport@xfxforce.com for immediate assistance.

Thank you for your review.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Card

Pros: Inexpensive, smaller than most other 6670 cards. Does the job.

Cons: Doesn't install itself

Other Thoughts: Don't listen the poor review the guy who rated this one star. That person doesn't know what they are doing. And to rate the card poorly because you incorrectly assumed the card doesn't support one feature you want is childish. This card works very well, supports multiple monitors. Works with Linux! I actually have this card installed on a DL380 server. It handles whatever graphical duties I throw at it.

1 out of 5 eggsFactualy Inaccurate Product Information

Pros: If you don't need 2 VGA monitors, it's probably fine.

Cons: Product description makes no mention that it has DVI-D. What this means is this card can only support two monitors if they are digital. If people read that the card has DVI, which is all that this product's description says, they assume it'll work with DVI to VGA adapters, which DVI-D does not.

Other Thoughts: What's doubly frustrating is that if you look at the DVI plug, it has the 4 pins surrounding the flat pin, which is supposed to be an indicator that it is a DVI-I plug. They have a note card in the box that says "STOP - This product can not support DVI to VGA Adapter DVI Port is a digital signal only". Well come on guys, why don't you put that in your specs then!

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Micro9mm, The DVI-D port will not support VGA, but an HDMI to VGA adapter will. Sorry for the confusion. If you have any further questions/concerns please contact me at neweggsupport@xfxforce.com
