3 out of 5 eggsDual Graphics NOT Crossfire

Pros: The card is good for what it is. It is an entry level card meant to do decent on graphics and be affordable to the general gamers and good for movies.

Cons: None, it does what it is meant to.

Other Thoughts: Contrary to what Kuldeep said above, this card does NOT crossfire, it works in dual graphics mode with the processor. Dual Graphics and Crossfire are entirely 2 different things. Do not buy 2 of these, and expect to crossfire them, it won't happen.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

Thank you for the review. This is correct, If it doesnt have room for a bridge, it wont support Xfire.

most newer 270, 285, and 290 cards do Xfire without a bridge now, but not the smaller stuff.

If you have any questions, let me know.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Graphics for the Price

Pros: Low cost, comes with low profile kit for tight spaces, doesn't need an extra power cable (it gets all of it's power straight from the MB), it made a huge improvement in my PC's overall performance.

Cons: One of the screw holes on the low profile kit didn't line up with the threaded hole on the card, the driver cd flat-out did not work.

Manufacturer Response:

Excellent! Thank you for the great review, we appreciate your positive feedback.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent for the price!

Pros: Great price/performance ratio
Low profile
Single slot width card
Works flawlessly in VMware ESXi 5.5U2 passed thru to a virtual HTPC!

Cons: None whatsoever.

Other Thoughts: I am using this card for a VM to streams movies using Kodi AKA XBMC. It is installed in an ESXi host in PCI pass-thru mode. I am using a HDMI over Cat6 Ethernet cable to carry the signal to my 60" TV in my sitting room. Audio and Video works flawlessly! I purchased this card because the HD6450 I was using would not carry HDMI audio over the HDMI over Ethernet extender. Streaming 1080p content and Netflix works great! I plan to buy more of these cards to have virtual HTPCs throughout the house!

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for the kind review, we appreciate your feedback.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great with A8-7600

Pros: I bought this card to use as the second graphics for my A8-7600 APU for use as crossfire (dual graphics), and it works great. I am able to play many games (dirt 3, far cry 3) in 1920x1080 and with 40+ fps.

Cons: None.

4 out of 5 eggsFor what it's worth.

Pros: It is inexpensive and got it with a discount to boot. Also came with 1 free game from the AMD Game Rewards promo. Comes with 2 low-profile brackets should you need them.

Cons: The standard bracket it came attached to was bent by a very slight >2 degrees almost midways length wise of the bracket, which I find strange given that it came in a fairly firm box inside of a padded envelope.

Other Thoughts: For what it is I am not expecting it to perform miracles. I got it so that it can go into a decent med-high end budget build for a client. So this nice little affordable card is more than sufficient for his average system needs and then some should he need the graphics capability.

As a note I am not sure why, as it was not listed on the NewEgg specification page, wether it is supposed to run on 8x mode or 16x mode. Currently AMD Catalyst Control Center states it is running at PCI Express 2.0 x8 mode. Not much of an issue to be honest but a little nit picking I had to point out. I am still baffled by the slightly bent default bracket installed on the card, it is why I deducted 1 egg, otherwise it's fine for what it is.

On a lighter note, thanks for the free game promo, though the Bronze rewards section @ AMD Rewards is seriously lacking at the moment unfortunately, so I settled with Just Cause 2, because it's a decent game.

4 out of 5 eggsCheap Card for Cheap Use

Pros: It you need a cheap Video Card for daily tasks to supplement a CPU or MB that doesn't have a built in GPU this will work nice.

When I bought it I got a gift voucher for up $40 for a free game from AMD via Steam. The card was only $70 at the time, so that basically made the card $30. Applying for and receiving the game was a breeze. I had the game downloaded shorty after Newegg processed my payment.

Comes with a Low Profile Bracket. This allows the card to be used in a standard case or a low profile case. However, when using as a low profile you will lose your D-Sub Output, but keep your HDMI and DVI Outputs, which is nice.

Cons: None. Uses it as it is intended and it is a fine card. For example, I ran 3D Mark Firestrike on this card. Failed horribly with a score of 1058 (see Other Thoughts).

Other Thoughts: This is NOT a card for high end use/demanding video games. Yes, it has 2GB of GDDR3 Ram, but it is a 128-bit Card that draws ALL its power from the MB.

Do not assume that since it is newer than the HD Series (for example) that it will out perform them. Do not assume a game that recommends a HD 6xxx card will run well using this card.

The best application for this card is Facebook games and watching Netflix. As the title says it is a cheap card for cheap use.

Use the card as intended and it will serve you well. If you need a higher end card, you need to spend the money for a higher end card.

5 out of 5 eggsMost Bang for Low Power PC

Pros: Using it work for business applications, and some heavy graphic work. Extremely quiet, and thrifty on power. I installed this on a Lenovo ThinkCentre M81 (Sandy Bridge i3) Small Form Factor (SFF) desktop, and it works great. The desktop only has 280 Watt power supply, so did some research, and found that this is the most powerful GPU you can get for per watt. It boosted my Windows Graphics score to 6.8. I did install an SSD drive, so it wouldn't compete with the Graphic card.

Cons: The Catalyst Command Control Center is weak. Lots of bells and whistles, but couldn't find the current driver version. Had to look at the installation CD to find the driver version. It's printed on the front.

Other Thoughts: I'm not using this for gaming, but eventually I will take this desktop home, and use it as a HTPC.
