2 out of 5 eggsCard has issues...

Pros: Card seemed like a good performer for the price, also the included games were nice (although to get WatchDogs I had to install some Ubisoft game host client bloatware, which was disappointing as Steam does it SO much better)

Cons: This card is such a headache. When I completed my build I ran a 4k monitor (for graphic design work which needed ALOT of real estate, not for gaming) alright. It was somewhat sluggish in games however, even in reduced resolution (like 1300x766 reduced) it was still choppy in games like Tropico 4 and WatchDogs was virtually unplayable. Thinking it was the drivers, I updated the drivers from the xfx driver included on the install disk. Once the new drivers were installed, I tested game performance again, it was just about the same, no improvement at all. It was during this phase of game testing that I had my first black screen. It was a non-responsive black screen that required restart. I started to wonder if the card might be a defect, but I knew that at 500w on my PSU I might just be having issues with the power supply. I bit the bullet and bought a new PS and a new monitor as well (reduced resolution from 4k to 1920x1080). After all this, I still get black screen hangups at the most inconvenient times. I gave this card every shot at being a good performer for the money, but it keeps causing issues, and I'm tired of it. I could not recommend this card to a friend

Other Thoughts: Not recommended

Pros: Worked very well for about 4 months, then died.

Cons: Returned on RMA. Replacement appeared to be new but was DOA.

Other Thoughts: I'm not willing to spend more money time and money to re-RMA the second card and return yet again. RMA fatigue. Moving on to another brand.

Manufacturer Response:

4 out of 5 eggsGood for the money

Pros: Runs all my games on max settings, and it's fan is really quite. Gets the job done for the price.

Cons: (In Other Thoughts because I believe its a driver issue)

Other Thoughts: I bought this knowing the drivers were not the best out there, but I took a chance and it was a good one i think. Since i got this though sometimes my display will flicker, with a graphical tear looking thing, and just recently my display turned off and my pc shut down but that could be heating related I dont know if this is just because it got to hot or if its just the drivers but other then that nothing wrong with it.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello and thank you for the thorough review, we appreciate the postive feedback.

Screen tearing and artifacting isnt usual a driver issue, but more like 3rd party software interfering with the drivers. We can fix this with a proper installatoin.

1 out of 5 eggsBad drivers!

Pros: zero......

Cons: I'm sure it would be great if it worked. The only way to get it to semi-work is without any drivers installed. This defeats the purpose of why I bought it to use the HDMI ports because without a driver they will NOT operate. How does a product release without sufficient drivers. Waste of money and thinking XFX makes me depressed.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, Every video card should work fresh out of the box without drivers, Perhaps the Motherboard is too old or you have a UEFI BIOS?
Please ocntact us at neweggsupport@xfxforce.com for support.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Mid-tier

Pros: I love this thing. It looks sleek, and all the parts - including the faceplate and fan - look well-made and solid. The card is quiet when not under load and even though it rev's up under stress, it isn't anything noticeable after the card has been given time to adjust. The newest drivers, some hard gaming, and It's nearly quiet until I set everything up to Ultra. It makes some noise then, but I haven't run across any framerate that wasn't buttery-smooth.

Cons: Bit of a pain getting the drivers installed, but I doubt that hasn't been said at some point for every existing video card/gpu in existence.

Other Thoughts: I didn't get the promo games that were sold with it around two hours after I processed my purchase. It'd be nice to have them ( Tomb Raider looks awesome ) but that isn't the fault of Newegg or XFX. Just my poor timing, and in no way a con.

5 out of 5 eggsWow...Just Wow

Pros: Price to power ratio, Surprisingly fast, Despite what others are saying mine seems to be pretty quiet and cool with load temps reaching a peak of 55 C. It can also be overclocked with very little effort though I haven't done it to time yet. Oh yeah and I loved the 2 free game promo I got when I got this card.

Cons: Cons... It won't make me a sandwich and it didn't come with a XFX case badge. Not a R9 series card.

Other Thoughts: When I said it wasn't a R9 series, I already knew that when buying it, but this thing is a little beast of a card. Every game I have thrown at it so far has played on high to ultra settings at 1600x900.

1 out of 5 eggsNot the usefulness I hoped for.

Pros: Nice looking card with plenty of outputs for me.

Cons: I bought this to replace an older Nvidia card I've been running for a long time. My old card had 384 megs of older style memory and ran pretty well for a lot of my Steam games. Some didn't run at all though and I thought a new card with a gig of faster memory would help, So I get this card with more and better memory. Right off the newest Radeon drivers will not work on my system with this card. I also noticed other users were having similar problems with the new driver. I hunted some old drivers and installed them to keep my system running. I 'm no expert but I think the old driver I use now makes this card run like a generic vga card. I really haven't been able to game since I got this card and I already gave my old card away.

Other Thoughts: I'm really sorry this card is not working for me. I didn't give a high rating just for my personal experience. It is probably a combination of my old system (quad core phenom, some kind of Radeon video linking motherboard, etc) and a newer card that just doesn't play well with it.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Tolemo,

We would be happy to help you resolve this issue. There are no known compatiblity issues with this card. It is more likely that you attempted to install the drivers over an antivirus program or windows needs to be updated.

Please contact us at neweggsupport@xfxforce.com for assistance.

Thank you
