5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Love the card. I can run all my games at 60 fps at 1080p with no issues. For $110, it fit my budget perfectly and got everything I needed. Also 2 free games never hurt to make a deal better.

Cons: none at the moment

5 out of 5 eggsTook a lot of tinkering and research, but after much effort I managed to get this beast working.

Pros: This card is definitely worth the 112 bucks I paid for it... I've had several games such as crysis 2 and batman arkham origins, which I've owned for a while now, and I am finally able to get the full experience from these games! Most of my games run smoothly at ultra or highest settings at 1080p. So far I've had no problems and hope that none occur.

Cons: Just make sure you have at least a 500w psu (or at least a psu with a 6-pin connector) and plug in a DVi d or hdmi or display port cable into the card. If you don't your system won't recognize it. This is a noob mistake and now I know for next time I buy a card.

Manufacturer Response:

Excellent. We are happy everything is going as expected.

2 out of 5 eggsDecent for the price

Pros: Seems to be adequate for low-mid settings gaming. I had no problem raiding in WoW with this card.

Cons: Like others have said, my XFX R7 260X does the exact same black screen crash thing. And not just in games, it happened mostly in browser based videos. YouTube, HULU and so on. I tried everything I could think of. Old/current/beta/windows update drivers, fresh windows installs, different psu's, different memory configurations, a different computer entirely and it still does it. I found it happened less if I turned off hardware acceleration in my browsers settings but it still happens from time to time with games. It is very annoying especially since all the research I've done says it's a common issue, but there doesn't seem to be an actual fix for it. When this card was in my main rig it would happen 1-3 times per day, and usually if I left my PC on overnight I'd have to reset it in the morning. At first I thought it might have been some other part of my computer, but I've tried it in so many other configurations it's clear that this card is at fault since it's the only constant. I wish I would have RMA'd it when I had the chance.

Other Thoughts: I have since replaced this card with an MSI R9 270 and haven't had a single black screen crash with the R9.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat card for the price

Pros: Cheap, cheap and CHEAP. My rig is a music studio rig - not intended for gaming but I do a little gaming on it from time to time. I was using my APU for gaming which got the job done but I wanted a little more "umph" but not spend a lot of cash. This puppy did the trick. 60+ fps on ESO at high video settings. Ultra drops it to 30's but I was happy with high settings. APU ran 20 and under on medium settings.

Cons: I cant find a single problem with the card. Install was smooth because my APU also used catalyst drivers. Seemless transition.

Other Thoughts: I got mine at Tiger Direct because there is a local store where Im at and it was on sale - less than NewEgg with shipping cost.
Great card for the price point if you arent a heavy gamer and fragger. Beats an APU hands down and its quiet! I use a coolermaster water cooler for my CPU and at full load, I cant hear the card fan over my water cooler fan. Bottom line - "just do it - get it"

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for the great review, we appreciate the positive feedback.

1 out of 5 eggsDidn't work out of the box

Pros: None

Cons: When I ordered it I had high hopes for this graphics card seeing as many recommended it to me but when I received it, it wouldn't even power on the fan or send a signal I my monitor.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, Please remember to plug in the 6pin power connector, that is a very common issue.

2 out of 5 eggsUnstable series

Pros: - Used to be good performance per watt
- Small, fits into many ITX builds

Cons: - Search "black screen" and "260x"
- Loud fan

Other Thoughts: Can't really talk about this card without mentioning the black screen issue. Not stable in 2D mode for whatever reason. Searching the issue showed a myriad of possible problems causing a black screen and a restart; from flash acceleration problems, to firefox HTML5 compatibility problems, to idle state memory speed up problems.

I don't have all the time in the world to troubleshoot a card. XFX support was unhelpful. I moved on to a Nvidia 750 ti which is quieter, smaller, cooler, and requires almost half the power. And the drivers are stable too.

Two stars only because the card was a great performer in games and was a performance per TDP king for a while before the Maxwells came out.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Compycompy,

We're sorry you are having issues with your card.

Unfortunately the google search yields unreliable results. Try to google any video card model followed by "black screen" and you will likely find a reported case.

The 260x has no known issues and if you were experiencing an issue, we would most certainly be able to determine the cause. Sometimes the video card is the cause, however its more of an exception rather than a rule.

We would be happy to help you resolve any questions you may have, please contact us at neweggsupport@xfxforce.com.

Thank you

3 out of 5 eggsRandom Black Screens

Pros: Works well with all my games, runs them with no problems. For the price, I thought it was a good deal. It was recommended on Tom's Hardware.

Cons: Usually when I'm surfing the web or watching Netflix, my screen goes black and I am forced to reboot my computer to get it back to normal. While the screen is black, I can still hear everything going on, but no matter what, a reboot is needed to temporarily resolve the issue.

Never had this issue with my old GPU and I've tried multiple drivers and still have the same issues. It doesn't happen every day, but when it does, it's when I'm not playing a game.

Other Thoughts: Searching online, I saw other people have the same issues and not really finding a way around to revolve it. Some were saying that the card may be defective.

Manufacturer Response:

We're sorry you had issues with this card. Please contact us at neweggsupport@xfxforce.com for support.

It sounds like this is a driver issue, possibly even a ram issue.

Thank you

3 out of 5 eggsGood buy, sketchy manufacturing

Pros: Great video card, a real value performer and recommended chipset by Tom's Hardware.

Cons: The mounting bracket was formed badly on my card and I cross threaded the screw installing it.

I did get it installed and working, but by the slimmest of margins. I'm worried that if a standard bracket can't be made right, what does that say about the manufacturing of the chipset itself?

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, The bracket metal is very pliable, its possible it was shifted in shipping. Have you tried simply applying a little pressure to place it where you wish?

If you have any questions, please contact us at neweggsupport@xfxforce.com.

1 out of 5 eggsno cross fire

Pros: runs great nice color 32 gigs

Cons: can not get X fire to work have a GIGABYTE GA-970A-UD3P AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard CCC will not allow Crossfire without the bridge.I have tried to enable but will not

Other Thoughts: have down loaded new every thing will not X fire

Manufacturer Response:

Correct, this card will not crossfire. We are correcting this issue now.

We do have some models of 260x that are Xfire capable which we can replace these with if you wish.

Please contact us at neweggsupport@xfxforce.com.
