Up to 13dB Quieter and 45°F (7°C) Cooler Than Our Competitors

The Exclusive XFX Double Dissipation Design is Cooler and Quieter than Others

XFX's exclusive dual fan double dissipation design utilizes two larger fans which run at slower RPM than comparable single fan solutions which must run at much higher RPMs just to barely achieve the same cooling needs. Because of this design, XFX is able to achieve up to 13dB lower noise than the competitor while simultaneously increasing the overall cooling by 45°F (7°C).

Improved Multi Sample Anti-Aliasing MSAA Technology

Smooth Lines Make All the Difference Between Itty Bitty, Low-Quality Graphics Versus Smooth Realistic Graphics

MSAA smooths out the jagged edges of a curved object. A black curved line on a white background displayed on a computer screen will have some jaggedness along its edges due to the inherent limitations of using discrete pixels to display the image. Anti-aliasing smooths out this jaggedness by filling in the white spaces between the jagged edges with varying shades of gray which gives you the smooth soft shadows, crisp sharp lines of buildings, and crisp tiny details in clothing that make your experience truly realistic.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid Card, horrid drivers...

Pros: -Been using for 4 years on a wide range of games with solid performance
-Price point gives you a very good product compared to the cost of higher end GPU's.
-Can play games like BF4 and GTA 5 at max settings with 60+ FPS.

Cons: -Recent drivers have caused an insane amount of "shaking" and screen tearing. This happens violently at times on desktop screen or when surfing web-makes some games unplayable.
-Prior to using water-cooled setup, card combined with AMD 4.4 processor caused massive overheating (Not overclocked), cooling recommended.

Other Thoughts: Overall, the card is worth the price IF the drivers work, friend who has the same build as I has had zero issues with his card. May consider buying a more up-to-date card to meet requirements for upcoming titles, but still a good choice for an AMD build.

4 out of 5 eggsStable, cool, overclockable GPU, but voltage-locked

Pros: No problems installing or running. Boosted core clocks from 1080 MHz to 1180 MHz and memory clocks to 1700 MHz using MSI Afterburner. Temps still in the mid 60's C°

Cons: Voltage locked at 1.2v Cannot boost voltage for further overclocking (and can't undervoltage, either).

3 out of 5 eggsGood enough.

Pros: The graphics card is overall great.
Runs virtually any video game.
Looks very sexy.

Cons: A lot of glitchy screen tearing and freezing.(probably the drivers)
Very loud fans.
Gets pretty hot in a small environment.

Other Thoughts: The card is actually very good since it runs any game thrown at it. just a lot of screen tearing and screen freezing.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

Does this freezing only happen in 2d modes? It could be the motherboard and GPU not getting along in power saving states. We have a bios fix and modification for this. Please contact me.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: - Plays Fallout 4 on ultra settings at 50-60 FPS
- Quiet enough. I saw some reviews that mentioned coil whine and other noise, but I hear nothing of the sort.
- Cheap

Cons: - Too big. Had to swap cases and remove a drive bay just to make it fit. I saw other reviews that mentioned the size, and thought I would be OK. Nope, it's just too long. If you have mid-tower sized case with non-removable drive bays, be prepared to do some cutting.
- Runs a tad warm, 70-80C when gaming at stock speeds. Can't imagine it would overclock very well.

Other Thoughts: Bought to replace my ancient HD5850 purchased in 2009. So far, I'm thrilled. It was a huge pain to install, but now that it's done, I hopefully won't have to mess with it for another 5-6 years.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card

Pros: Looks great, works great, and was one of the best priced graphics cards for the ADM 280X

Cons: if you are looking for a smaller card, this is not the card for you.
It also was probably my case, but the screw holes on the card did not line up very well with the holes on my case to hold it in place.

Other Thoughts: For the price, you cant beat this performance. It's a little more than the standard Double dissipation, but that extra speed is nice.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card!

Pros: I have owned this card for about a year now. I have the Noctis 450 Case and asrock 990x killer motherboard. This Card paired with my FX-8320 is Great!! I can play any game I throw at it at high or ultra settings! Around Idle Temps it gets to about 35C. And under load the max ive seen is 60C Temp. I Get no game stutters at all playing Mad Max, Star Wars Battlefront, or Metal Gear Solid.

Cons: NONE

2 out of 5 eggsGreat card, Horrible coil whine

Pros: Framerates are as good as I could expect with just one card running, good sleek compact profile

Cons: in crossfire with my old 7950 it was a jittery mess on actual videogames where as benchmarks showed promising gains, and there is an extremely loud CoilWhine... I RMA'd the card and got another one with equal amounts of coilwhine and I'm extremely displeased about that

Other Thoughts: Really wish it didn't have coilwhine and that crossfire with a 7950 wasn't a jittery mess so that the purchase is actually worth it, because at this point I wish I didn't buy this card

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Alissa,

Coilwhine and "jitters" sounds like there is a throttling event and your PSU might actually be the bottleneck.

It would be worth trying each card individually to check their performance and see if the jitters go away. Please contact me for direct support.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Video Card

Pros: Card runs very cool due to the large heat sink. Frame rates definitely increased after installing this card. I bought this card to start my update from my three HD 7970's that were performing well until the release of the R Series video cards and drivers. I currently run one of these cards crossfired with 2 HD7970's and I can play anything on ultra at 5760X1080 resolution.

Cons: None that I can think of. Card has performed flawlessly. Looking to buy another one shortly.

5 out of 5 eggsA really great card for the price.

Pros: - It is very quiet, generally
- it keeps low temperatures
- it has nice clean aesthetics
- huge heatsink assembly
- its overclocked already without using Overdrive
- 3GB RAM
- Lots of output options (2 DVI, 1 HDMI, 2 DP)

Cons: - Sticks about an inch and a half off the end of an ASUS Sabertooth M-board. Can be a tight fit.
- Fan bearings/shafts/mounts/sleeves could be a little better. They get noisy (in a clicky way, not an airflow sound way) when they spool up to full.
- Draws a lot of watts when going balls to the wall.

Other Thoughts: Keep in mind that this 280x is an iteration of the 7970. However it is overclocked and the RAM runs faster too. It runs very nicely. Windows calls it a 7000/R200 series, but the correct 280x will show up if you use current version of GPU-Z. I'm pretty happy with the card, overall, and it looks and sounds great compared to my old 6850, and video lockups are no longer an issue.
