Improved Multi Sample Anti-Aliasing MSAA Technology

Smooth Lines Make All the Difference Between Itty Bitty, Low-Quality Graphics Versus Smooth Realistic Graphics

MSAA smooths out the jagged edges of a curved object. A black curved line on a white background displayed on a computer screen will have some jaggedness along its edges due to the inherent limitations of using discrete pixels to display the image. Anti-aliasing smooths out this jaggedness by filling in the white spaces between the jagged edges with varying shades of gray which gives you the smooth soft shadows, crisp sharp lines of buildings, and crisp tiny details in clothing that make your experience truly realistic.

With every new generation of Direct X, major improvements are made which greatly advance the graphics capabilities of games. That's why it is essential to ensure that you are using a graphics card with the newest Direct X driver compatibility so that you'll get the most out of your gaming experience. Partially Resident Textures PRT Technology

Radically Change the Detail of Your Games from Flat to Realistic

Even in the latest titles, gamers may have noticed that games often reuse or repeat textures, particularly on the ground or in background scenery such as mountains or trees. This is because increasing the physical size or number of textures in a game can have a negative impact on the performance of a GPU. PRT is a radical technology that hopes to break this cycle.

1 out of 5 eggsKeep shopping

Pros: Works fine for browsing the internet.

Cons: If your a gamer, keep shopping. I bought this card for GTA 5, works great for 30 sec to 10 min but then freezes my system, even while playing team fortress 2. thought maybe it was over heating, or maybe another hardware problem, so i spent hours testing and replacing different hardware to no avail. Slapped my old MSI 7770 in and no problems since. First time buying XFX and will not do it again. Maybe it was just bad luck, but i won't be fooled again. oh wait, i have been fooled again, i have to pay to ship this back, awesome. yeah me.

Manufacturer Response:

Hey Tom,

We're sorry you are having issues with your 270x. Driver wise, the 7770 and 270x are somewhat similiar, so i doubt its that. I would guess either a bad card or a PSU struggling to provide the extra 75 watts.

Either way, the 270x is a fantastic GTA5 card and we want to show you that.

Please contact us for warranty support if you haven't received the replacement alraedy.

3 out of 5 eggsSupport doesn't actually read emails sent

Pros: Excellent FPS and smooth gameplay. Came with 3 games via the AMD promotion, only one of which I ended up playing (Alien Isolation).

Cons: Hate and I mean HATE Catalyst software and especially AMD Evolve bloatware. Don't get me started on unreliable drivers. Never had issue with Nvidia in my life.

Had an issue where no matter what monitor I plugged in to wither DVI output the primary would randomly SCRAMBLE when I moused over to my secondary monitor. I had to reboot to get the darn screen back to normal. HDMI simply would not work at all! (Found that out after the 30 days were up). Epic failure and had no luck finding a solution via support.

Other Thoughts: I sent VERY detailed info and the responses I got indicated that support had ignored much of what I told them. They only replied 3 times then stopped responding. Should have just returned the card but decided to keep trying to troubleshoot on my own and ended up past 30 days. So I boxed it up and will try and sell it. Such a waste of time and money.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Grandmasimulator.

Please send your emails to neweggsupport@xfxforce.com or create a ticket at xfxsupport.com.

Your card should still be in warranty and should have no issues with being offered an RMA replacement.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing..

Pros: It's XFX
It's still XFX
This card is great. I was worried about the length of it and possibly putting alot of weight on my PCI-e slot and was surprised when there was zero bending!
So far, I have zero complaints, it is a phenomenal card.

Cons: None. It's XFX, there shouldn't be.

Ok, one minor complaint. I need some stickers to put on my case as a few of my friends and I go to LAN parties and I would like to show off the manufacturer of my graphics card so when they say, "Man, how are you getting 80 fps when I only get 20?" I can point at the sticker on my case and tell them why.

Other Thoughts: I am a XFX fanboy and for good reason. Their products have yet to fail me, I've been a loyal customer for 12 years, I still have my 8600 GT that I bought as my first graphics card. If that doesn't say how well their products are made, then look elsewhere.

I know my next purchase will be XFX, there's not a doubt in my mind.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

Thank you for the great review and continued loyalty to XFX. If you would like some XFX case gear, please let me know.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Easy set up...

Cons: Having a hard time getting it to run my Dell 3011 monitor at 2560x1600 resolution with DVI...tried a couple of different DVI cables. HDMI gives me only 1920x1200. At wit's end..don't know what to do. Their support site is too cumbersome-can't even call them for help without divulging my grandmother's personal health details.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Redsam,

Our tech support # is listed on our website under support: 800 880 3225.

If you dont want to divulge your personal details, you are welcome to insert false data. We only use it to mail you back your replacement card. If you provide the wrong address in your shipping address, it could cause complications.

You have a 2560x1600 so you need to run a Dual-Link DVI cable to the graphics card and it should automatically detect it when you restart once or twice.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: Benchmark at 5721 on my system, compares to cards costing $350 and more. Was easy install, exactly same set up as previous card (AMD 6800HD) which died. Took 3 day ship option, was here next day (nice) shipped from LA area and I am in Phoenix. So far, so good. No problems.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Only 4 stars because it is still new. Could be 5, just not sure yet.

5 out of 5 eggsXFX R9 270X Beast!

Pros: This card is simply fantastic. The first thing you notice is how good it physically looks. It will blend into any computer with its all black plastic shroud and its subtle chrome accents. It really does look nice. Then there is the performance. It's hard to beat this card, especially now that its selling for $220, which is $10 less than when I picked it up in early February of this year (2014). With the newest driver updates today, it scored 1392 in the Unigine Valley benchmark test with an average of 33.3fps on ExtremeHD settings. I also run a A10-7850K APU, and when I ran the test, I wasn't sure if the two were working together, but anyway, that was my test result. This card is also quite. I never hear this thing unless I am really stressing it in a bench marking utility. In game, it never gets that hot, and I never hear it. Having owned it for 8 months now, I have had not one problem, and I literally mean, not ONE problem. Not even a driver issue, (which has nothing to do with the physical card), but still, it has run like a complete beast these past 8 months. I highly recommend this card if you are in the market for one and willing to spend $200-$230. I have had nothing but a very positive experience with this card, and telling from the slue of other 5 egg reviews, I can tell that it simply is as good as I think it is.

Cons: None so far!

5 out of 5 eggsR9 270X (1050MHz edition)

Pros: This card is a beast; it can handle any game I throw at it at max settings. I can say this is a best bang for the buck especially for the Battlefield 4 fans out there rocking the AMD Mantle!

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I bought mine from Best Buy because it was more convenient and replaced my GTX 750 ti super-clocked edition.
