4 out of 5 eggsGreat!

Pros: This card is pretty awesome for the price I bought it for and the two free games it came with! I was pretty excited to get Thief for free as a option for one of the free games(didn't expect that). Overall this car is very affordable and has great performance. My friend recommended this card to me when I was building my Gaming PC and so far it's doing great. I plan to have three monitors in the future but for now one is good enough for me. AMD may be iffy on their mobo but the graphics cards are pretty awesome.

Cons: None So far

5 out of 5 eggsXFX AMD R7-260X 2GB. (review)

Pros: Best video card I had so far that plays games really well. I did a lot of research choosing one and I got this one.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I'm using this card on a pci-e 2.0 motherboard and it works. using a 750 watt power supply. 6 pin for video card power.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Pretty good improvement over my previous HD5850. The dual fans help keep the video card that much cooler.

Cons: Nothing really towards the card itself, but mostly just the current drivers. See other thoughts.

Other Thoughts: The openGL support in the drivers are very poor, not the drivers on the CD that comes with the video card. For example, with a very old game, Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, framerate wise you only get maybe 10fps. Until you find the fix that is in the amd forums, which is basically an older version of the openGL dll file.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card low cost

Pros: Looks great, runs great. Not $400.

Got this on sale for $150. It looks so slick in my sabertooth motherboard.

Even with just 4 gigs of ram and an Old Phenom II quad core processor I can run games like BioShock Infinite in max settings no problem.

Cons: None thus far.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for the wonderful review, we appreciate your postive feedback.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Buy

Pros: High Performance at Low Cost.

Coupled with AMD FX-6300 and [only] 4 gigs of RAM, I run all my modern games on High. These include: Hawken, Hitman: Absolution, Thief, and Titanfall.

Take it form me, I'm a long timer gamer and Video Game Programmer. You don't need a those over marketed, over priced cards to run the latest games. Manufacturers (and benchmarks) make you think you do; you don't. Just get this card. Then, when you need a new video card down the line, those [current] overpriced cards will be the same price is this [cheaper] card is now. See how that works? :)

Cons: No VGA port, but who uses VGA anymore; it's old news.

Other Thoughts: I built a gaming rig that can run all modern games on High for $400 [I got a $20 discount that longer applies, so $420 for you]. That's right, you don't need all that fancy hardware that manufacturers make you think you do. Here's what I got.

CPU

GPU
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150695 (You could even get one of the slightly cheaper R7 260x cards on newegg and you'll be just as well off)

Mobo
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131795 (No, you DON'T need more than 8 gigs of RAM or dual GPU support. That stuff is a gimmick. When you do (in distant future), you'll need a whole new mobo anyways, so just save money and get this one).

RAM

I didn't buy an HDD here. You probably already have one. If you don't, they're $20 for 1-2TB on e-bay, used (they're perfectly fine; don't be paranoid, save money instead).

P.S. "e-bay" without the "-" is deemed an "inappropriate word" when writing this review.

5 out of 5 eggsXFX DD R7 260X

Pros: First my setup is simple:
AMD Quad Core Fx 4300
8Gig DDR3
Win7
Graphics before AMD R7 240 2Gig

Now, the computer was fast and decent with the old card. It ran most games on medium/high. Average FPS was around 30-45 at the most.

With this new card, I also chose this over the Ghost Core Edition 7770 because of the dual fans and 2 gigs of ddr5. I knew I would not have to upgrade this over the next few years since this is a 260x, a fairly new card compared to the 7 series.

The card was simple to install, though it's pci express 3.0, I have a 2.0 MOBO and it looked like it wouldn't fit at first (theres an extra tab of board before the pci bracket itself). It is slightly large but just make sure you look at the dimensions of your case space before you order. Simple on your part, should not be their fault if you run into space. Only thing I had to do was move a sata cable.

Performance
The card is quiet, and very powerful. I am able to run WoW, CS, DIRT, SHIFT 2, THIEF and a few other games that I own* have not tested any more yet* on max settings. Battlefield has a mix of High's and Med's but it is incredible. I was barely pushing High's with the old card, and mostly mediums. Card was quiet throughout performance test's and stress tests and could deliver what I expected.

Im glad that I waited a week to order this as they put back the AMD REWARD cards with this. I got DIRT 3 and THIEF with it. Code worked flawlessly and quickly redeemed my codes in steam.

Cons: None, see thoughts though please

Other Thoughts: I am completely happy with this card. Delivered, installed and up and running within minutes. Make sure to uninstall the previous drivers before hand and you are all set.

One thing I messed up on was that there is the protective plastic on the card that's on the aluminum and fans. I took off the aluminum plastic, but there was also some on the fan that I thought was on the whole top of it, it turned out to only be a little ring and I took off the sticker to the fan logo. Doesn't bother me, and Im sure it doesn't void the warranty, but I put it back on. Really happy and I will not have to upgrade for a long time now. Spend the money and get this card.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: *Price Point
*2 Fans
*Crossfire Support
*2 Gig GDDR5

Cons: I didnt order from Newegg so I didnt get 2 free games :(

Other Thoughts: I wish I had ordered this from Newegg so I could have gotten the free games. I ordered it from another site because I had a bunch of credits so I got this card for almost no cost. I run Guildwars 2 on the highest setting and it looks great and I only get FPS dropping in huge epic WvW battles that have 60 players in a small area trying to kill each other. I cant wait to get a 2nd one and setup my Crossfire!

(If anyone wants to give me the free games I will take them :)

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for the great review. We are happy you are pleased. Unfortunately we don't carry extra game codes on hand to hand out. Sorry.

4 out of 5 eggsUpdate:"Fast Middle-Class Card"

Pros: I bought the R7 260x on 2/08/2014 and i just want to update my review. So far this card can run Thief on High settings and Battlefield 4 on High.I forgot to mention you get two free games with this if you buy it with Radeon Rewards Card. And I have been playing all my games at 40-61fps at stock speed without overclocking which is 1100MHZ for core clock and memory speed is 1625MHZ. And I used to own a XFX Radeon HD 7750 2gb DDR3 and it clocks at 800MHZ Core speed and memory 667MHZ. So in my opinion if to start pc gaming start with this card.

Cons: -No 6 pin Molex power Connector

Thank you for the positive review. We appreciate the feedback.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, This is not an acceptable review. Please contact us at xfxsupport.com or neweggsupport@xfxforce.com for further assistance.

As far as your question is concerned. It is unlikely you would notice a GPU difference in the 2.0 vs 3.0 slot. However, the increased motherboard performance would likely appear to enhance all aspects of your computer.

5 out of 5 eggsShocking

Pros: For a card in the price range I did not expect much. But after using it I was shocked. I held its ground against my dual 650s that came in my laptop. This is a great low budget card. It played starcraft at max setting with good frames.

Cons: These cards where cheaper when they came out.

Manufacturer Response:

Excellent. We are happy you are pleased.

Thank you for the great review.
