5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card for Gaming on a Budget

Pros: Well built card featuring some really great features, high clock rate, fast DDR5 memory, and much more!

Cons: It's a large card that takes 2 slots, pretty standard.

Other Thoughts: This card performs almost as well as my R9 270x in games and benchmarks. That's amazing!

Manufacturer Response:

4 out of 5 eggsMisleading specs

Pros: Decent card, good price with the rebate.

Cons: Not the fastest card ... but knew that when I bought it.

Misleading specs ... ok, out and out fraud. See other thoughts.

Other Thoughts: So just got this cards and started playing with it. Seems to be ok so far; not a real gamer but wanted to get my feet wet a little bit; cost of entry here after rebate was pretty good so thought why the hell not.

First thing I did was run GPUz and low and behold the memory on the card was 1500. I bought this based on reviews and when 260x's were first released the memory ran at 1625 and all the reviews had that. This card was supposed to run at 1600 (6400 quad pumped) so not a big diff. That's what the specs say here effect memory clock=6400. So 1500x4 is 6000 not 6400.

So the specs for this card say 6400 and it really runs at 6000; seems like a pretty big difference and will slow the card down. And it wasn't that fast to begin with. So satisfied with my purchase ... not satisfied that I was mislead and the card actually runs slower than advertised.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for the great review Richard, we're sorry it was listed wrong, i will investigate this now.

1 out of 5 eggsDON'T GET

Pros: It ran CS Source stress test at 295 FPS.

Cons: The crossfire didn't work. Not only did I have to go and buy a crossfire bridge, because 1 didn't come in the box. Also, the second card doesn't read half the time. I can't even enable the Crossfirex on the CCC download that came with the package. The motherboard is compatible with crossfire, I have a high enough psu, and the fans work on the cards. They just wont crossfire. Both are r7 260xs

Other Thoughts: Such a waste of time and money. DON'T GET ANYTHING AMD

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Chase,

We're sorry you are having trouble getting Xfire to work. usually this is because of 3rd party software or if you installed the drivers with BOTH cards installed in the pc. Simply reinstall drivers with only 1 card in and that should fix it...

5 out of 5 eggsXFX R7-260X 2GB (review)

Pros: fans are quiet, crossfires good, plays game well.

Cons: I had to call XFX support for a crossfire cable did not come in box, they shipped it to me for free.

Other Thoughts: I had to use the longer crossfire cable because my motherboard pci-e slots are further away.
This is the 2nd one I bought so I could use crossfire.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for the great review!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card Will always support AMD and XFX

Pros: Quiet card can play most games on high settings. I bought 2 cards to crossfire model R7-260X-CDF4 and R7-260X-CDFR which is the same card. I can play any game with 60+ FPS so far with Cross enabled, BF4, Skyrim - with 100 mods, DOA 5 LAST Round, and others.
xfx support its quicker than useing the chat system less than 15 min on call.
call 800-880-3225

Cons: I originally bought the CDFR model from besbuy 8 months ago when they had a besbuy exclusive model. It has a higher clock than what besbuy has now and what newegg has. It bugs at lower clocks and has pink artifacts. If you had one of these cards just contact support at XFX and ask for the CDF4 model replacement or take it back to Besbuy and get the Newegg version which is the CDF4. Its just a simple mistake easy fix, you could just flash a different bios but would void warrenty.

Other Thoughts: Applied collaboratory Liquid metal pro thermal grease on both GPU's and CPU will give you a extreme drop in temps I get about 35C to 40C on max load since applying new paste. Original temps was around 50 - 55C on max load. Just a thought for advance users. As long as u use your screw driver over the stickers they wont come off and will not void warrenty it is stated in the terms. you can even put aftermarket cooling heatsinks as long as u register them with xfx.

5 out of 5 eggsA budget gaming GPU that doesn't disappoint

Pros: I am immensely satisfied with this graphics card. I am running it along with an FX-8370 and am getting satisfactory gaming performance (1080p/60fps, High-Ultra) in newer titles such as Alien Isolation, Borderlands: The Presequel, Metro 2033: Redux, etc...

The card stays relatively quiet while gaming. I have my case about 12" from my left ear while using the computer. The card is SILENT during idle.

This is a beautiful looking card. The silver finish with black stripe and black edging is quite impressive.

LIFETIME WARRANTY! I have not had to deal with XFX Support so I cant comment on how good their support is, but the warranty is a huge plus here.

Cons: I played around for awhile trying to overclock this thing and, admittedly, its almost impossible to squeeze more performance out it.

Although fan speed never maxes out during gaming, If you manually adjust the fans up to 100% using something such as ASUS GPU Tweak the card can get loud.

Other Thoughts: If you are looking for a budget card to get you through this console generation on your gaming PC then this one is a rock solid choice.

I would imagine that this card will be able to handle most [emphasis] upcoming titles at 1080p Med-HIgh 60fps for awhile to come.

If you are interested in this card, but want to see some real world performance there is a YouTube Channel (not my channel, for the record) titled "R7 260X vs Next Gen Games" that shows the real world performance of this card in new titles. I would recommend you check it out. I think you will be pleasantly surprised with how well this card performs.

A note on the black screens: I have never experienced this, not once in the 6 months or so I've owned this card. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the people complaining of black screens were running the beta Catalyst drivers. Make sure you keep your drivers up to date with the latest STABLE release!

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for the great review. We appreciate the positive feedback.

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent, even on a 2008 CPU

Pros: 1. pairs well with a Intel Core2Duo E8400 @ 3Ghz

2. Can be Crossfired with another card, Crossfires well.

3. Runs BF4 @ 50fps on medium 1080p with the AMD Mantle API

4. Skyrim runs excellently at 40-50fps with HD DLC and 2K texture mod combined with post process InjFXAA.

[all of the above pros were done with the Core2Duo]

5. XFX has a very sturdy full metal heat sink and cover on the card.

Cons: 1. Requires a good PSU, I recommend a 750W 80+ Gold rated PSU, I personally use the Rosewill Capstone series for builds.

Other Thoughts: Overall a very good card, excellent for the $130 spent on it.

4 out of 5 eggsGood card, but power hungry

Pros: - good for gaming on a tight-ish budget, runs Skyrim on ultra with intense modification at around 30-40 fps outdoors.
- like night and day coming from an HD 5450.
- cheap enough
- quiet when not under load

Cons: - black screen issue at first but was fixed, see other thoughts
- loud on full load
- requires a beefy PSU
- crashes playing Endless Legend, apparently because of the Unity engine. If you play games that use Unity, it may crash occasionally.

Other Thoughts: Replaced an old HD 5450 with half gig of RAM so this card obviously blew it out of the water. After a few months of using it though I started getting black screens often while using it, even when not under load (web browsing). No blue screen or error message, underclocking didn't work and required a restart to temporarily fix it. I switched to my mobo's onboard chip for awhile, trying to find a solution. According to a few websites like tom's hardware, its a GPU issue that could not be fixed and recommended getting an nVidia card.
Unfazed, I decided to try upgrading the power supply from an unbranded 400 watt to an Insignia 520 watt. I've since gotten one that I could ctrl-alt-del out of, but that seems to be another issue entirely and only came up that one time. Otherwise it runs flawlessly. Make sure that you have at least a 500 watt power supply before buying.

Thank you for the extensive review. If you are still having issues, please contact us for warranty servicing options or support. Thank you
