4 out of 5 eggsExcellent, even on a 2008 CPU

Pros: 1. pairs well with a Intel Core2Duo E8400 @ 3Ghz

2. Can be Crossfired with another card, Crossfires well.

3. Runs BF4 @ 50fps on medium 1080p with the AMD Mantle API

4. Skyrim runs excellently at 40-50fps with HD DLC and 2K texture mod combined with post process InjFXAA.

[all of the above pros were done with the Core2Duo]

5. XFX has a very sturdy full metal heat sink and cover on the card.

Cons: 1. Requires a good PSU, I recommend a 750W 80+ Gold rated PSU, I personally use the Rosewill Capstone series for builds.

Other Thoughts: Overall a very good card, excellent for the $130 spent on it.

4 out of 5 eggsGood card, but power hungry

Pros: - good for gaming on a tight-ish budget, runs Skyrim on ultra with intense modification at around 30-40 fps outdoors.
- like night and day coming from an HD 5450.
- cheap enough
- quiet when not under load

Cons: - black screen issue at first but was fixed, see other thoughts
- loud on full load
- requires a beefy PSU
- crashes playing Endless Legend, apparently because of the Unity engine. If you play games that use Unity, it may crash occasionally.

Other Thoughts: Replaced an old HD 5450 with half gig of RAM so this card obviously blew it out of the water. After a few months of using it though I started getting black screens often while using it, even when not under load (web browsing). No blue screen or error message, underclocking didn't work and required a restart to temporarily fix it. I switched to my mobo's onboard chip for awhile, trying to find a solution. According to a few websites like tom's hardware, its a GPU issue that could not be fixed and recommended getting an nVidia card.
Unfazed, I decided to try upgrading the power supply from an unbranded 400 watt to an Insignia 520 watt. I've since gotten one that I could ctrl-alt-del out of, but that seems to be another issue entirely and only came up that one time. Otherwise it runs flawlessly. Make sure that you have at least a 500 watt power supply before buying.

1 out of 5 eggsBlack screen

Pros: it nice, and never get hot, thank to the fan, still able to play high setting on hard core pvp mmorpg game and others

Cons: after 5month of using it, I start having black screen wipe-out for like 4-5sec and boot up again, but it only happen 3times so far for me out of those month of using it, and yes I play the card without OC or anything. However, I play everyday on my game on it probably 24hrs none stop or even 48hrs without turning off. May I get the issue what wrong with my graphic card or is it something else. One more thing I didi change my powersupply I thought it was that but it wasn't so just u kno ahead thank you for replying me.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello and thank you for the review. rare-crashing events like this could be caused by extended hours of gaming without rest or reset, sometimes ram related or PSU related as well. We would like to help solve any GPU related issues you have. If you have any questions, please let us know.

2 out of 5 eggsit performs well, but goes out randomly

Pros: -it performs really well, i can play all my games with good settings and high fps.

-its insanely quiet, i had to run a monitor program to make sure the fans were spinning.

Cons: -i get black screen once every 2 days

-xfx support seems slow to respond

Other Thoughts: i sent a ticket to xfx support about the black screen problem. he said he can do an RMA, but if the card doesnt doesnt crash while its there, they cant replace it. i asked if they can keep the card longer than the standard '3-5' days to increase chances of them detecting a crash, and i havent gotten a respond in 5 days.

i really regret waiting so long and not doing an RMA with newegg.

Manufacturer Response:

Hey Dave,

If a Tech support agent told you that, its likely that your issue doesn't sound like a typical GPU related issue.

If you lack the means to test other graphics cards, or this card on other systems, i would encourage you to RMA the card and get it tested here.

Email me at neweggsupport@xfxforce.com and i can personally assist you in this return and testing. Thank you

1 out of 5 eggsGreat for some hours then it black screens

Pros: It works great when you first turn it on. Runs games pretty well in 4k as well.

Cons: My computer black screens after some hours and there is no way to get the screen to come back on unless you do a hard reboot.

Other Thoughts: From my understanding the black screen is due to a clock rate issue. Others online have clocked it down to prevent it from black screening but then that defeats the purpose of selling it at the specified spec. I'm in the middle of an RMA with XFX.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello AD,

we're sorry your card wasn't stable at stock speeds. Hopefully, this is likely a faulty piece of VRAM which will allow for us to replace the entire card. If you have any questions, please let us know.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat GPU even though its old :D

Pros: Its a great GPU by the way, There isnt much cons than there is Pros. The thing thats good about this GPU is that it is stable even if its OCed. But of course this GPU does well when you pair it with a good CPU that wont bottleneck it. I recommend a AMD CPU because its true what they say about AMD CPUs being great with AMD GPUs. So yep. this thing can run your games on medium to high settings on at least 60FPS at 1080P resolution. Well, I only tested it with Final Fantasy 13 and Battlefield 3-4 so I wouldnt know..its up to you to find out :D oh and mantle actually helps!

Cons: It can run hot sometimes to I suggest not leaving it OCed for a very long time. 5-8 hours are the time when you actually unOC it or else it will cook itself to death and you will LITERALLY notice less performance. So plan your use of it, since it might be a great card but when overused or abused it would kill itself to escape your wrath.

Other Thoughts: I can truthfully recommend this GPU becuase I have owned other Ghost series card from XFX and they have never failed to impress me with their great performance and design. However, there are time limits that people need to be aware of when using the Ghost cards..I dont know if its just me or if others are havign this same phenomenon happening to them but yeah XFX Ghost series card have this curse of having a time limit to their performance..Maybe its just me

4 out of 5 eggsXFX R7 260X DD edition

Pros: Great price for the quality of the card. Benchmarked pretty well on Unigine Heaven 4.0 and Unigine Valley 1.0. Runs all games I like to play on highest settings on 1920x1080, and does great with HD movies. Have not experienced any hiccups of artifacts.

Cons: Card runs remarkably hot on factory settings... during benchmarks i was hitting 78-84 degrees Celsius on factory settings... I Over clocked the card to see what the temps would do, and to my complete surprise the temperatures didn't variate AT ALL, staying between 78-85 degrees Celsius (@ 1200 MHz core, 1800 MHz memory )...
I worry about the life span of the card with temperatures that hot at factory settings, but am happy XFX has a lifetime warranty on their products.
I will be replacing my current case with a Rosewill case for better cooling, i hope that lowers the temperatures a bit...

Other Thoughts: This is the second XFX R7 260X i have bought, the first one came Dead On Arrival, but was replaced instantly, so I cant judge XFX or B*****y on their return policies and warranties. Am looking forward to purchasing the XFX R9 290X DD edition for my newest gaming build due to their incredible customer service and warranty.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing card for the money

Pros: I made the swap to ATI cards for the 3rd time in over 15 years and this is the first time I didn't regret it. I swapped from a GTX 550 Ti that was getting out dated. This was the first time I bought a mid-level graphics card (at the time about $180) and got more performance than I was expecting for what I paid. The quality of this card is on par with EVGA which is saying alot. Most importantly I've looked across the board at XFX products on newegg and the manufacturers are VERY active in responding with their customer base. That's extremely nice to see and they've got my business.

Cons: It's not a 280x =)

Other Thoughts: I have 4 buddies I build systems with and have gamed with for over 10 years. We were all pretty hardcore EVGA Nvidia users. I've tried some Gigabyte cards (great boards, lack luster performance on their cards), and PNY (which was a complete joke and half their stuff I've bought has arrived DOA). This is certainly going to be my go too manufacturer.
