5 out of 5 eggsDrives my Seiki 4K and another 24" montior

Pros: This card is cheap and is therefore underpowered compared with high end gaming systems. I didn't take off eggs because you shouldn't expect it to perform that way for a third of the cost. The passive cooling and low energy usage for engineering and desktop applications is great.

Cons: None, again, it's a sub-100 dollar, passively cooled card.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for the great review. We appreciate the positive feedback.

If you have any questions, please let us know.

1 out of 5 eggsDoes not seem to work with Dell U3014

Pros: None so far, since I cannot get the card to work at a sufficient resolution with a Dell U3014.

Cons: The card does not seem to support a Dell U3014 monitor at its native resolution of 2560x1600. It cannot run it at a resolution higher than 1920x1080.

Of course, I have a DVI-D cable. In fact, the exact same setup works fine with an Nvidia 610 card.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,
We're sorry you had issues with this card. This setup should work, perhaps the monitor isnt being detected by the AMD drivers? did you install them without an anti-virus or firewall?

Thank you

2 out of 5 eggsExpected too much

Pros: Low-profile(but does take up 2 PCI spaces)
Quiet (fanless)

Cons: Bad performance for the money

Other Thoughts: For the same price, I could have gotten an older GDDR5 card with less memory and better performance.

I bought this to replace a 3yr older Radeon card, and that was my initial mistake. This one is much worse than that one, not only in my personal testing but also in written review, and scoring just over 950 on the PassMark benchmark.

Overall, it's my own fault for not doing my research prior and just trusting the numbers provided. I intend to ask for a refund but I don't expect it since it isn't faulty.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Amber, perhaps try returning it for a credit?

5 out of 5 eggsworks fine in linux htpc system

Pros: No fan and using in htpc doesn't seem to tax it enough to be an issue.

Cons: It can be a little poky trying to drive a 4K screen (4096x2160 or 3840x2160), but this isn't surprising.

Other Thoughts: Works fine in a ASRock A770DE+ system (PCI Express 2.0 16x slot) running Linux (3.14) and the open source ATI (radeon) drivers with vdpau/vaapi.

Manufacturer Response:

Great! We're happy everything is working as expected.

2 out of 5 eggsBurn Baby Burn! Disco Inferno!

Pros: Silent, Lo Profile

Cons: Puts off ALOT of heat! Turned my htpc into an oven! Now I'm trying to figure out how to underclock it so it might run a little cooler.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, Yes, all GPU's that use energy will have heat as a by product.

The more wattage the card uses, the more heat created. The heat output vs wattage would be a constant. Are you seeing any temperatures above 90'c?

5 out of 5 eggsSeems pretty good

Pros: No fan, nice big heatsink, short card, fully powered by pci-e slot with no need for a pci-e 6 pin connection

Cons: No displayport or dual dvi

Other Thoughts: would be a good card for an htpc if you wanted something for 2d better than the intel gpu

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for the great review!
