Do i really need the 750W power supply i have a 600W and a buddy has been running it on 600W for about a year no issues but im a little worried about doing the same. is it safe?

There are several things to consider when it comes to PSU (Power Supply Unit) and graphics card combo. But I can try to do my best to help you make your decision. If you have 600W PSU that is rated Bronze it will not be enough especially under heavy load. If it is a Platinum 600W PSU it may be able to handle it at load but with put it under extreme load. Not really recommended. If you really want to have this card run a top performance I would buy a 800W to 1000W PSU at no less than Gold Certified. Really why would you chance ruining you pricey hardware or your gaming experience. A little more power is better than not enough.

Question 2

Is this compatible with my motherboard:

Looks like it is compatible, but that's not the real issue. The question is, do you have space for this beast? It's going to take up two slots on your MoBo because it's twice as wide as a normal PCI card. Look into your configuration to see if you've got the space, or if you don't mind sacrificing something else to make room.

Looking at your MoBo via Google images, it looks like you'll have enough space in your first PCI dock for this.

If your computer case is small, be sure to measure it and make sure you can fit this card in. I had to actually buy a new case to fit this sucker in (Well, I was going to buy a new case anyway). You can find the dimensions of the card on the specs tab.

Another thing you need to know is whether or not you have enough power to run this card.

Question 3

I recently bought this card and when I turn on my computer it runs fine for about 6 minutes and then the monitor goes into standby mode (eventually turning off). I am trying to connect to the internet to download the drivers for the card. Could this be the reason why my monitor keeps turning off?

Standy on your monitor happens when it's not receiving a signal. It could be the computer is freezing and that causes the signal to drop out or any other number of things. Usually the basic display drivers work fine until you get the proper ones installed so kinda hard to say what is causing your specific problem. You could try updating bios, resting bios settings to default optimized. Make sure your ram speed is set right in bios if default still doesn't work. Sounds like a general computer / hardware problem causing your issue, not specifically the GPU.

Question 4

Is there a way to turn off or unplug the white led's?

I've never done it but you would have to take the heatsink and fans off (voiding warrenty) and unplug them. That or just put electrical tape or anything else over them if you're annoyed by them.

I want to know if this is compatible with msi's 890fxa-gd70 mobo?

So from these specifications PCI-E 2.0

Simple answer yes, however in a multi-card environment it's faster to have the higher PCI-E versions.

You can search difference between PCI-E 2.0 and 3.0 to get a fuller understanding.

Can I tri screen with this bad boy with out a active converter?

Yes. Just get the right one. Use both DVI ports and get a DP to DVI adapter which states it is for Eyefinity. Works perfectly for me. I have both Mini Dp & Reg DP and they all work with different cards. I did buy a cheap one locally which did not work. Again, make sure it says it is for Eyefinity. Newegg has them and I think XFX makes the ones I have.

I know it's a bit large and probably on the heavy side. Does it have a backplate? Is it a sturdy card?

Not sure what you mean by a back plate but the card is very sturdy.  Be advised it is a big card so check your measurements closely, it barely fit in my mid to large size tower.  Width was no problem but the length was almost to long.  I have been very happy with the new GPU, I went from two 7850's crossed fired to this card and it has performed very well.  It's not the end all for poor game optimization but again I have been been very happy.  Also you will want to make sure you an adequate PSU.  This card requires two power cords to run it.

Yes, your motherboard will support this GPU. This card is a beast, make sure you have at least a CPU running at around 4 GHz to avoid bottleneck. I would recommend FX-8350 or 8370. The PSU at 1000W is more than enough. You may also consider the R9 290 for almost the same performance.

Can this work with pci express 2.0 slot motherboards?

What OS is everyone using....Windows 7, 8.1 or Windows 10  beta..  If  you  have a SSD have u enable UEFI ?  Esp if you are using Windows 7.  XFX said to disable the security boot when installing Windows 8.1 so that my Asus motherboard will recognized it.  Know enough to be dangerous but not enough to keep out of trouble. Will this run on an ASROCK 990FX Extreme3 motherboard with PCI Express 2.0 x16 & chipset AMD 990FX + SB950AMD using an FX-6300 6-Core 3.76 cpu? And if it does, will I notice the loss in performance due to the half bandwidth of the 2.0 vs the 3.0. I have heard that the 2.0 bandwidth wasn't even being utilized anyways.

Yes, it will work fine in the 990FX.   (This is a physically large graphics card.  Make sure it will fit in your case.)  No, there will not be a performance hit by using a PCIe 2.0 x16 slot.  There are a few websites that have tested PCIe 2.0 vs 3.0 with graphics performance.  This message won't allow me to post links to other sites.  If you Google search for "pcie 2 vs 3 video card", without quotes, check out the one from pugetsystems.
