XFX Ghost Thermal 2.0 Technology

The New and Improved Floating Heatsink Design of XFX Graphics Cards Provides the Ultimate Cooling Solution

XFX's exclusive ghost thermal 2.0 design creates a floating heatsink with open airflow between the PCB and the cover so that air can quickly ventilate off the card while simultaneously cooling the core process and the components. We've also made major advances from our first generation which includes a heat tested light weight plastic to create an overall lighter thermal which reduces the physical strain on your GPU.

Up to 13dB Quieter and 45°F (7°C) Cooler Than Our Competitors

The Exclusive XFX Double Dissipation Design is Cooler and Quieter than Others

XFX's exclusive dual-fan, double-dissipation design utilizes two larger fans which run at slower RPMs than comparable single fan solutions, which must run at much higher RPMs just to barely achieve the same cooling needs. Because of this design, XFX is able to achieve up to 13dB lower noise than the competitor while simultaneously increasing the overall cooling by 45°F (7°C).

Improved Multi Sample Anti-Aliasing MSAA Technology

Smooth Lines Make All the Difference Between Itty Bitty, Low-Quality Graphics Versus Smooth Realistic Graphics

MSAA smooths out the jagged edges of a curved object. A black curved line on a white background displayed on a computer screen will have some jaggedness along its edges due to the inherent limitations of using discrete pixels to display the image. Anti-aliasing smooths out this jaggedness by filling in the white spaces between the jagged edges with varying shades of gray which gives you the smooth soft shadows, crisp sharp lines of buildings, and crisp tiny details in clothing that make your experience truly realistic.

4 out of 5 eggsGood entry-level high end card

Pros: Beautiful card, plenty of ports for monitors, handles games well, scores decently on the 3D Mark Firestrike benchmark test

Cons: Pretty big card, if you don't have a full size tower, I wouldn't recommend purchasing this because it likely won't fit. Not much of a con for me, but someone else may see it as one.

Other Thoughts: Haven't had it long, but it plays all my games well. I hope it continues to work well in the future. It IS a bit loud, but I'm not looking for a silent computer.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Price and performance card

Pros: I finally upgraded my XFX 9800 GTX+ to a modern day card. XFX does not make Nvidia cards, so I took a chance and tried a Radeon card for the 1st time. I chose this one because XFX has always had high quality cards. I ran this card hard for 4 days and it did not even hiccup. All games are running on Ultra and I am quite impressed with this card. Quite a good value for the performance you get.

Cons: None

4 out of 5 eggsGreat performance for your dollar

Pros: The card is a beast and takes everything I throw at it in stride. It's quiet, it's cool, and it looks pretty.

Cons: It arrived DOA.

Other Thoughts: Although it arrived dead, I was able to RMA this very quickly and received my brand new replacement card today. XFX was prompt, professional, and helpful. I will be buying another in the future so that I can run them in Crossfire.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: This is my second XFX Double D card and it replaces my aging XFX6950 DD. Comes as advertised, runs cool and quiet. At just over 200 bucks it provides good value. Games at 1920X1200 are a treat and Alien Isolation and Bioshock Infinite can be run maxed out.

Cons: None at the moment. The gaming bundle my card came with was a bit dated.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for the great review, we appreciate the positive feedback.

4 out of 5 eggsgreat card

Pros: The card arrived packaged very well. I have had the card for about 6 months and have never had any issues while gaming. It runs most games maxed out at 40fps minimum.

Cons: the cards HDMI ports are not hdcp compatible. This means no watching blurays or high def streaming services. Luckily the mini display port is and mini dp to HDMI adapters are cheap

Manufacturer Response:

Hello and thank you for the great review.

We appreciate your feedback. We provide HDMI to MDP adapters for the few cards that didnt have the HDCP chip.

If you have any questions, please let us know.

1 out of 5 eggsDead on Arrival

Pros: The graphics card came in safe packaging and also had what you'd expect from buying a card. For the actual card though, the heatsink is solid and allows for a lot of easy ways to grip the card. It feels quite solid, even without a backplate.

Cons: I didn't like where the power connectors were. Out of the several high-end graphics cards I've handled, I'd say the positioning on this was among the worst: right next to the heatsink so it was somewhat difficult to remove the power connectors if you need to.

Dead on Arrival.

Other Thoughts: As it was dead on arrival, I couldn't test how well this card performed. I might as well talk about how handling the card went.

5 out of 5 eggsNothing Slows It Down

Pros: So far the card is amazing. I have run lords of the fallen at max(which warns you need greater than 4GB of vram) and it only slows when loading texture after zoneing. And that is from running the game off a 7200RPM hard drive and not a SSD. Skyrim runs with 100+mods, 20 or so contain 2-8K textures and remaps, with no slowdown at all.

The card has not gone over 62C under load for hours at a time and it is quiet even at higher fan speeds. though it has not needed to go over 53%.

The card is fast, cool, quiet, and XFX has the best customer service I have seen. BUY ONE!!!

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: The card is about half the size of a full ATX MOBO you need a very large case to fit this card. despite the size it is very sturdy with no wobble after the screws are in place. I dont know about other cases but the built in modular clips on my HAF932 would not clip around the card so you will have to use screws.

I have owned the card about 2 months at the time of this review. Some people have had failure around this mark though i do not see and signs of defect. If the card fails i will update this review.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Value and Performance

Pros: The card is a fantastically solid performer, running circles around the 5770 it replaced, and miles ahead of a previously reviewed R9 270.
4k capable gaming at 30+fps frame rates, what more can anyone want?
All for $170 after rebate! with 3 games!

Cons: Not really a con for me.., but a large card. Any case other than a full tower my have space issues to deal with.
Only real con, I should have bought 2!

Other Thoughts: The card has a 6-pin and 8-pin power adapter. Upon swapping of the old 5770, the driver reinstalled and all was good and operational!
Alien Isolation Ultra graphics looks beyond realistic, on a large screen with the lights low and surround on, it feels like you're in the action.
Everyone has a different case. I have an NZXT whisper which sounded like a small college refrigerator in the next room, a quiet room (not very audible) and the addition of this card fully cranked adds absolutely no additional noise.
