5 out of 5 eggsPretty decent video card

Pros: I can run F.E.A.R. on full video settings, Far Cry Full video settings, and the video encoder and decoder on this card is pretty nice.

Cons: This card is Huge takes up 2 to 3 PCI slots.

Other Thoughts: This card gives life to old AGP systems.

2 out of 5 eggsHate this Card

Pros: Doesn't crash when using no hardware acceleration under linux

Cons: Could not get card to work realiably in Windows Vista Ultimate or Windows MCE2005. If you have a setup similar to mine, be warned do not buy this card. Maybe it works fine on Intel Chipsets or NVIDIA chipsets but this sucks on my VIA
Setup: 939 A64 3500+, Asus A8V Deluxe, Hauppage PVR 150, HIS X1650pro

Other Thoughts: People who like this card, I'm interested to know there computer hardware setup. I have tried a couple MPEG2 decoders and I cannot even get this card to play a dvd without crashing in media center

3 out of 5 eggsH-I-S

Pros: The huge fan is nice. Installed nicely and runs cool.

Cons: Bought as open boxed item, nothing came with it, only the graphics card. You have to download proper drivers from the HIS site. The card won't let you install the OEM drivers from ATi.

Other Thoughts: ....Buy another one?

5 out of 5 eggsIt Works

Pros: ATI Rocks! All you whiners must be new to ATI. Installation of high-end ATI display cards has been fussy for years - Get over it.

Cons: Not a one!

Other Thoughts: When updating the drivers, ATI warned that upon first startup, the driver runs a system stability test. That explained the panic-inducing "hang" upon 1st re-start

3 out of 5 eggsgarbage

Pros: fan, runs cool, fan is quiet. has the potential to run well. Runs a few games well.

Cons: it came stock running at 64 bit, even though it advertises 128.

Other Thoughts: lets find out how good HIS customer support is.

5 out of 5 eggsBest card for the money

Pros: Great performance for the money. (AGP-wise) Runs great. Is usually quiet enough to not be heard unless you're in a really quiet room or something. Runs Battlefield 2, 2142, Half Life 2, Doom 3, and Quake IV at maximum settings at 10x7 reso at a decent framerate. Runs Oblivion at med-high setting, and FEAR at the higher end settings.

Cons: Not the best card in the world, but hey, you're still using that agp mobo, so what were you expecting?

Other Thoughts: The big fan on the card seems to run at full speed whenever I turn on my PC for some reason. Could be a setting problem, may have to check that out. Also, the drivers on the disk isn't the latest, so make sure to download the latest Omega or Catalyst drivers. Also comes with free games and software, that's always good :D

4 out of 5 eggsPicky Graphics Card

Pros: Man does this card work great. I stepped way up from a Radeon 9550, and I can tell the difference in every game I play. I didn't even know Half-Life 2 could look that good. Wow.

Cons: Seems very picky about the drivers that you use with it. Currently (1-5-07) you can't seem to use the drivers off of ATI's website. I wrestled with it for a whole night trying to figure out why it was giving me so many problems, when I got desperate, wiped all the drivers and installed the ones off of the manufacure's disk. It worked great after that. Then I tried updating the drivers after that, and it went back to the same problems. Maybe the manufacturer somehow has newer/better drivers than what ATI is offering?

Other Thoughts: The packaging seems a little inconsistent. The box (correctly) calls it a X1650, while the manual refeers to it as a X1600 series. I almost panicked when I saw it. Maybe I'm just not with the lingo as much as I thought.

1 out of 5 eggsCard doesn't seem to work

Pros: Beautifully packaged, all the bits and pieces needed are included

Cons: Card only partly functions in 2 different computers. The monitors would lose signal after the card warmed up. First one port goes out, then the next.

Other Thoughts: I'm not sure if it's this newer Radeon part or the HIS design. Noticed that the box says they require a 450+ Watt PSU for the card.
