RMA took 12 days +an extra $9.20
- Pros: Overnight shipping, Newegg did a good job considering the faulty card was clearly a factory reject. I would have scored this transaction @ 4 but the replacement came in a badly damaged box. I will continue to recommend Newegg to everyone I know. The card works just fine, installed the latest Catalyst driver from the Ati DL page, it took 10 minutes to install and I was off to the races.
- Cons: It cost me $9.20 to ship the first defective card back, and it took 12 days from the initial purchase date to get a card that I expected and paid for overnight delivery... the second card appears to be working fine, Even though the box arrived badly damaged, (Ups box was undamaged) I actually wondered if the new card would work due to the extent of damage. The package damage was just another level of stress Newegg should have spared me.
- Other Thoughts: So the final total... shipping cost me over $30 for an overnight delivery that took 12 days, I realize that Stuff happens but I would be more receptive if Newegg would have sent me a courtesy coupon with my new card, to compensate me for the inconvenience. A 5% coupon would go along way to show me that my patronage is appreciated and would have changed this review considerably. At the end of the day it should never be the responsibility of the customer to cover shipping costs due to faulty/defective merchandise, that should be charged to the manufacturer.
- Pros: Great card, installation was easy, runs cool 49c, quiet.
- Cons: None
- Other Thoughts: Newegg got this card to me in 2 days flat! there is alot of confusion regarding powering this card, and HIS does'nt make it any easier. I have an Antec Neopower 650 PSU with 3 - 12V, 19A rails. Everything I read suggested splitting the power between 2 of the rails. This PSU comes with a Pcie connector in the primary bundle (not the modular acessory cables). Powered it with that cable and it works super.
Good card
- Pros: Serious overkill for a 5 year old box, but I dusted this off recently and wanted better video. This replaced an ati Radeon 9800 Pro 128mb, which had a dead fan anyway...Runs cod4 well, excellent HD video quality, runs cool and quiet.
- Cons: None so far...this really is overkill for my system, just biding time until i can build a new one
- Other Thoughts: dfi lp nfII ultra B mobo
