This low profile card from HIS is just the thing for building an HTPC in a small case. It has two dual-link DVI outputs and an HDTV out that supports composite, S-Video and component outputs. It also has a PCI interface for maximum compatibility with small form factor motherboards.

The ATI Avivo engine is include for encoding or decoding the latest video formats including MPEG 2 and 4, DivX and H.264.

POWER SUPPLY

Pros: Could not tell you. Could not install this card properly.

Cons: Requires 450watt power supply. Unfortunetely, the reason i purchased this card is for a small dell form factor computer that I cannot upgrade the power supply on.

Other Thoughts: I tried this card with Vista 32 bit with no luck. The device manager '!' says that it needs more system resources. It cant be the memory because i have 2GB in the machine. I thought I would write tjhis review for future dual monitor lovers to save new egg and them the hassle if they do not have a strong enough power supply.

For what it is... excellent.

Pros: Maximum performance on a PCI interface

Cons: I think the price is steep considering what it is.

Other Thoughts: I installed this in my wife's computer, an extremely old Gateway machine that does not have an AGP slot. She wanted to play a free MMO game however, and the onboard video was not up to the task. With this card, and the resolution settings turned down to about medium-low, she can play the game smoothly. I think that speaks volumes for what this card is able to do on a PCI interface.

Pros: The card installed easily and has worked great until now

Cons: I bought two the last time and both have gone out in less than 6 months. Have had no luck getting them warrantied by HIS.

Other Thoughts: Too hard to get product warrantied, HIS phone line is always tied up and have gotten no return calls or emails.

Took a Chance

Pros: zip

Cons: No high profile bracket! Can not be used in standard PC chassis without, so never used. Manufacturers web site no longer shows a HP-bracket being included; as of this writing, NewEgg does---old info. Manual in package does not reflect same physical hardware in package; probably an older manual.

Other Thoughts: Too bad, the dual link DVI ports would be very hot.

Not particularly wild for the side by side DVI ports, anyway.
