5 out of 5 eggsFor what it is... excellent.

Pros: Maximum performance on a PCI interface

Cons: I think the price is steep considering what it is.

Other Thoughts: I installed this in my wife's computer, an extremely old Gateway machine that does not have an AGP slot. She wanted to play a free MMO game however, and the onboard video was not up to the task. With this card, and the resolution settings turned down to about medium-low, she can play the game smoothly. I think that speaks volumes for what this card is able to do on a PCI interface.

1 out of 5 eggsH155F256EDDPLN

Pros: The card installed easily and has worked great until now

Cons: I bought two the last time and both have gone out in less than 6 months. Have had no luck getting them warrantied by HIS.

Other Thoughts: Too hard to get product warrantied, HIS phone line is always tied up and have gotten no return calls or emails.

3 out of 5 eggsTook a Chance

Pros: zip

Cons: No high profile bracket! Can not be used in standard PC chassis without, so never used. Manufacturers web site no longer shows a HP-bracket being included; as of this writing, NewEgg does---old info. Manual in package does not reflect same physical hardware in package; probably an older manual.

Other Thoughts: Too bad, the dual link DVI ports would be very hot.

Not particularly wild for the side by side DVI ports, anyway.

5 out of 5 eggsNice for dual monitor workstation

Pros: Worked great as used. See other thoughts.

Cons: Only 1 DVI-VGA adapter

Other Thoughts: Needed a dual monitor setup on a workstation that uses Excel alot. Older workstation with P4-3.0 Gig that has only PCI slots. Power supply was a 300W slimline type(Power Man brand). It is rated @16.0A on the 12v rail. As this workstation only has to supply power to the CPU,memory(1Gig),HDD and now the video card, I took a chance and tried this card. It works great. Just loaded the latest driver from the web site (no catalyst control). The workstation user is very happy with the additional workspace area. This is in a strictly busines environment with no gaming done on the workstation. Also with the addition of the card ram memory was freed up as the onboard video was no longer needed.

1 out of 5 eggsPiece of junk

Pros: similar to the rest but...

Cons: Failed just outside of warrenty. I bought the card and 1 year and a couple of days later the card failed. During the live of the card I had multiple restart issues because although the second monitor was there the card would forget where it was.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat!!

Pros: I have had this card for over a year, and it is still working great! I use it for a basic build (Web surfing, Word applications, LIGHT gaming) and it is still working strong!

Cons: You do not want to use this card for gaming! It has compatiblity issues with many games, and will not work AT ALL! However, this isn't really a con, as I didn't really get it for gaming, just discovered as I used it.

Other Thoughts: Great card if you don't care about games and you only have PCI slots in your computer.

5 out of 5 eggsPositive Results...

Pros: Dual DVI card for standard PCI slot--not very many of these around.

Decent software package: Dungeon Siege, Game Shadow, PowerDirector 5 SE, Power2Go 5, Medi@Show 3, plus a number of game demos and software trials.

1/1 good experiences with HIS telephone customer service.

Cons: The card does not come with a second bracket for standard size PC cases, despite what the product images may show. Had to call HIS support at (408) 331-8847 to request one. Fortunately, the new bracket arrived within a week and without any cost or unnecessary hassle.

However, 1/1 bad experiences with HIS website/email support (never received a reply to my initial request).

Other Thoughts: This card is running successfully in tandem with a Radeon 9800XT AGP card in an older Athlon XP system powered by a 300 watt power supply. The 9800 runs the primary display while the X1550 runs two secondary displays (three total monitors). 2D performance in the secondary displays is a little sluggish, but gets the job done--this may be because of the aging 1.6ghz processor, the standard PCI bus, missing optimizations in ATI's drivers, or all three.

Finally, ATI's Catalyst Control software is not installed to prevent potential headaches.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes this come with a full size bracket?

Pros: Looks like a nice card.

Cons: This is low profile card, but in the pictures it shows a full length bracket. Can anyone confirm whether or not this does come with the full size bracket?

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Dual DVI, PCI, Direct X 9.

Cons: Low profile bracket only! Normally video cards that are low profile include the normal profile one as well.

Instructions are generic.

Other Thoughts: Works fine in Windows driving two LCDs.
