Update from my previous review.
- Pros: Running 2 Pushed 3dmark03 scores to over 62k, which is one of the highest dual core processor scores with 3850's! Currently have them OC'd to 820/1010. Props to HIS for a high quality card, it was a cowardly mistake by me not removing those drivers from my X1300. Works well with my DFI X38 Motherboard.
- Cons: INSTALL THE DRIVER DISC FIRST BEFORE USING CROSSFIRE! I had problems with crossfire getting put to use, only scoring 13k in 3dmark05. After driver disc was installed, 21 thousand!
- Other Thoughts: I am quite sorry about my tone in my previous review. I obviously didn't know about removing old drivers before installing the new hardware, that is what was causing my green screens.
Who needs liquid cooling if you have this card?
Fastest Radeon 3850s on the Planet
- Pros: Purchased 2 of these for a CROSSFIRE X set-up . These Cards run cool and even though they are already Overclocked I easily pushed them further to 850/1100 . ATI 8.4 Drivers worked without a hitch . I have owned several HIS video cards and they have ALL performed without any problems . Why buy 3870s when you can get the same performance for less with a Rebate too. As always NEWEGG delivered in 2 days . Highly Recommend this Video-Card !
- Cons: None
- Other Thoughts: Running these cards on an ASUS A8R32-MVP DELUXE motherboard Socket 939 with a 4800+Dual Core Overclocked to 3.04 on AIR . Averaging 40FPS playing Crysis on high settings with XP-PRO .
Absolutely Awesome Video Card
- Pros: An absolutely awesome video card. Great frame rates; stable; sturdy construction; wonderful heatsinks--what's not to like? Runs even the most demanding apps, games, etc. with complete ease. For instance, I've been getting 130 FPS on HL2 Episode 2. Most bang for the buck that I've found.
- Cons: None so far.
- Other Thoughts: Riva Tuner is a must. With it installed you can manually set your video card fan speeds. Running my fans fixed at 75% I'm getting GPU core temps of 39-40*C, and that's fan cooled as opposed to water-cooled.
