5 out of 5 eggsOHHHH WOW!!!

Pros: All I can say is WOW!!!! This is one heck of a video card! I got this card for free from an AMD training I went to and it completely blows my mind. I am able to run Strangle Hold, Left 4 Dead, Fallout 3 all at 60fps at maxxed out settings and Crysis at about 31-40fps at all High settings (running at 1600x1250)! The overclocking utility that you get from ATI is also a very useful tool because you can over clock the GPU and Ram as well as control fan speeds. Would Recomend this card to anyone who wants a good gaming card. My card runs at 43-44C idle and 49-51C under load.

Cons: Not having the 4870!! Runs a little hot out of the box but thats why you the catalyst controller! you can increase/decrease your fan speeds.

Other Thoughts: AMD 5400X2 OC'd 3.2Ghz
6GB 800Mhz Ram
HIS 4850 ICEQ4 OC'd 630Mhz
Gigabyte 7xxSeries Mobo
Thermaltake V1 heat sink
Sunbeam 4Channel fan controller

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing!!!

Pros: I bought 2 for my Xfire setup and they are blazing... I run WoW, Dead Space, Fear everything at max and these things never go over 70% load. they stay pretty cool, I haven't noticed them being loud like other reviews say, they are beefy and look hawt!! price is great and of course newegg had them here in Hawaii ahead of schedule.

Cons: When I ran the catalyst overclocking software it turned them way up to the point they started distorting the screen with red hatched squares. It left them pretty highly overclocked saying they were good to go but I'd get the red hatched squares about every 30 seconds or so so I manually turned them down. Don't have the setting sin front of me right now but they are stable and took a pretty good beating for a short while.

Other Thoughts: I'm no techy by any means so I don't know how to safely overclock them and fine tune them for maximum performance but as I said.... I play some graphic intensive games and no hicups..... 40 man raids on WoW full settings and I MIGHT drop to 40fps... great cards... if you're thinking of getting one.... get TWO!!!

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: Great Card. Runs very cool and fan is very quiet.

Cons: I had two out of nine cards fail.
The first one was fine on 3D games but would produce errors on 3D Rendering and CAL/Brooks Applications.
The second one had a very loud capacitor squeel in 3D mode but was fine in 2D mode. The 2nd card still worked but the sqeel was too loud to ignore.

Other Thoughts: I own 9 of these cards and only have 2 defective but newegg has been fast with RMA's and the CS reps have worked with me to get the situation fixed very fast.

It is expected that a select few cards will have a flaw, that is with any product but I am very Happy with Newegg's assistance in getting the defective cards replaced.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Installed in small form factor case with Q9550, 8 GB ram, 2 hd, DVD and 650w ps. I choose this unit because of my concerns about heat, but no problems at all with the gaming I have done so far. I have only noticed fan noise when I was running 2 instances of a game with all the goodies turned on at a resolution of 1920 x 1200. Very Happy with this card.

Cons: none

4 out of 5 eggsGood video card!

Pros: Very quiet and IceQ4 technology keeps the card much cooler than the stock 4850 cooler. Connected easily to my HDTV and after some underscan tweaking everything ran great.

Cons: I have nothing bad to say about the card itself, but there are some issues with ATI's drivers which are cons.

DX10 and 720p/1080p underscan issues. 8.6+ drivers have issues with hardware (DXVA based) H264 decoding.

In my case I was trying to play at 720p and even though I had adjusted the underscan for the desktop resolution, I was getting underscan when playing DX10 games at 720p. I used the "Force Resolution" option to forcefully add the 1280x720@60Hz option and my problem went away.

As far as getting H264 decoding working, I haven't found anything short of switching to the 8.5 drivers. A symptom of this problem is no video output in PowerDVD (or similar player) when playing back H264 content (Bluray, HD-DVD, etc).

Other Thoughts: Overall this is a great card and ideally the driver issues will be ironed out in subsequent releases.

5 out of 5 eggsCool performance for the buck

Pros: Great performance. Playing Fallout 3 at 1920 X 1200. Runs smooth and cool. I waited for a card with improved cooling and this is exactly what I was hoping for.

Cons: * Seems to make a high-pitched, barely audible whirring sound

Other Thoughts: Wish I had the money right now to buy another one

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing ATI 4850

Pros: I have been very impressed with this card.
These Cards run very cool & quiet.
Even at 80% fan speed, you can't hear the fan.
Temps @ 99% GPU load never get above 55C and that is at 50% fan speed.
Overclocked to 700mhz on GPU Core

Cons: Memory will not overclock - even 1mhz but that is not a big problem for me.

Other Thoughts: I run Folding@Home on this card.
It is at 99% load 24/7 and I have had 0 problems.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: Super powered video card, runs any games at full potential.

Cons: Out of box the 4850 is quite hot, but can be fixed with a little tweaking of Catalyst files to change the fan speed. With fan tweak the card can get a little loud but that is better than a excessively hot card
