Overall great card!
- Pros: This video card is one of the most efficient cards I've used. It uses barely enough power to require an additional power connector. Due to its 45nm chip it also stays very cool on low fan settings. It can run all my games from HL2 to CoD4 on high settings for under 120 dollars.
- Cons: the circuit board is red?
- Other Thoughts: I put this card into my SN78SH7 Shuttle case and ran fine with only a 300W PSU. The heatsink did not fit due to the PCIE location so I installed a fanless zalman heatsink on the video card. The card runs at 50C idle and 56C load with a fanless heatsink in a compact system with only one system fan; now that's cool (pun intended).
Best Value
- Pros: Low power consumption, high performance. 500 iter/sec folding FAH. Can handle pressure. I can play decent games with no issues.
- Cons: none
- Other Thoughts: It can run Crysis Warhead at 1440X900 enthusiast setting. No lags.
Intel Core i7 920 @ 3.19 6GB dominater RAM 1.6Ghz 450W BFG PSU ATI HD 4770 GDDR 5 Evga X58 759 3way SLI /3x16x/ Motherboard
Did I downgrade or upgrade?
- Pros: First of all, it is only $99. Well, when I bought it, at least. The price keeps fluctuating. Secondly, it is GDDR5 and it's 40nm. For someone like myself who plays some of the most popular games, this vidCard is very good. I was actually thinking of buying the Sapphire 4870 1GB because I do a lot of animation & video rendering with Maya & Lightwave. But since I am on a budget and I'm only using a 19" monitor, going with this card was a very wise decision and a total surprise. Handles pretty well with the games that I play, works well with animation even though it is only 512MB. I downgraded from an ATi 4850 512MB vidCard by Visiontek and to be honest with you, I am actually starting to ask myself if I really did downgrade. Perhaps I didn't...
- Cons: There is actually no disadvantages that I have found nor encountered with this vidCard. The only gripe that I have with it is how come they didn't make a 1GB version? That's it. I guess we're gonna have to wait. Putting all that aside, I highly recommend this vidCard to anybody that is looking for efficiency, performance and price.
- Other Thoughts: "This is proof that high performance gaming and price can co-exist without compromise..."
