4 out of 5 eggsGREAT

Pros: Inexpensive, powerful 2+years ownership and still very happy.

Cons: Fan. The fan works, but it is LOUD. I ended up buying the Arctic-Cooling-Accelero-L2 as a replacement and have been happy at the near silent fan noise. Also cools it significantly better too.

Arctic-Cooling-Accelero-L2

Other Thoughts: I normally dont review anything but I have been so impressed with this card that I want to do it justice. I bought this card over 2 years ago (!) and have been running all sorts of games at max setting ever since. Im just happy that I spend like $140 2+ years ago and can still play Far Cry 3 and Dishonored at max without any issues.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat little card

Pros: Great little card for its price.

Cons: the ONLY complaint i could possibly leverage, is regarding fan noise while playing anything that really engages this card, such as SWTOR.

Other Thoughts: For the money, I love this card. It was a vast improvement from the last one I had. Small tip for anyone who installs a DX11 card on a fresh install, find and install the DX9 library of cab files, if you play games that use DX9, this "can" speed them up.

3 out of 5 eggsSolid but...

Pros: I got this card in May of 2010 when it was much newer and not as outdated.

It can play literally every game no problem, most on max or close to max settings. Only games in which I had to dial it down a bit were BFBC2, BF3 and of course Crysis. Runs the Bioshocks and Mass Effects maxed out no problem, among others.

Cons: I never really realized I was having heat problems with this card until I tried to Crossfire recently with another 5770 by a different brand. On its own it had run around 75 or so under load, but with crossfire it was easily pushing 100, shutting itself off. Interestingly the competitors card right next to it only ran about 65 while the HIS was over 100C.

After much experimenting I RMA'd through HIS, who backs it for two years.

Other Thoughts: Great card overall, but its worrisome that it runs 30C hotter than a competitors card when crossfiring. Am not sure if this is specific to my card, or a design flaw with the model itself.

5 out of 5 eggsHIS HD 5770 on Treadmill Build

Pros: GDDR5 1 GB PCI Express 2.0 x 16 HDMI out

Cons: None as I write this

Other Thoughts: This HIS Radeon HD 5770 was dropped in an Asrock board
attached to a wood plank on the back of a treadmill. My son plays team fortress 2 online at 60 frames per second, suppose if it can do that, there is no telling what it can crunch. It is 5 eggs on this end.

5 out of 5 eggsNice card that does what it's supposed to do.

Pros: Great performance for the price. Runs all my games maxed out no problem.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Just added a 2nd one for CF and i'm amazed at how well theses cards scale. Should not have to upgrade for quite some time.

4 out of 5 eggsGood card.

Pros: Cheap. Low power consumption. You can buy a cheap PSU with only a 6 pin saving you even more money.

Cons: Not powerful enough to max the newer games @ 1920x1080 without a 2nd one. Doesn't do well with tessellation.

Other Thoughts: I bought this 6 months ago and at the time it was on sale and it was the best bang for the buck card out. There has since been one other card that has surpassed it. If you are a gamer looking for the best bang for your buck look elsewhere.

4 out of 5 eggspretty decent card

Pros: a lot of card for the price. u can't beat price to permorfance ratio as compared to nvidia. i actually bought it when it was on sale for 150 bux on newegg.

Cons: can't max out the vid settings on bad company 2.

Other Thoughts: so i been playing bf bad company 2 for 2 months now. i play on a 24inch monitor with 1920x1200 resolution in full screen, on medium settings and i get on average 50 fps. which is decent and playable. fps drops however during intense fight and explosions (down to 30 fps) which affects your gaming to a certain extent. i have a core 2 quad 9450 OC'ed to 3.0 GHz and 4 gigs of ddr2 1066MHz.

3 out of 5 eggsWorks well, for a few hours

Pros: Very good performance for the price. And I'm happy with how it functions when it functions.

Cons: After about 3 or 4 hours of playing any graphic intense game, it starts to render everything poorly, and then not at all, and games crash. Seems like it gets too hot, and then needs time to cool.

Other Thoughts: So far the issue hasn't been worth going through a month replacement process. But I don't think I would buy HIS again, as this is my only experience, and the only card I've had that's had issues from the beginning.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for the price range

Pros: It displays graphics very well. Kinda the point right? It usually stays pretty cool with the heatsink I installed on it. Didn't really trust that egg shaped thing for a second. Generally runs around 45-50c, and hasn't had a single hiccup in the entire time I've owned it. Really, a pretty nice card.

Cons: The 128 bit interface is a major bottleneck. Suffice to say I'll probably be purchasing a 1.5GB DDR5 384 bit card when next years tax season rolls in. It's a steep price climb but by all accounts it'll be worth it. Other than the fact that it's not a high end card, it's good.

Other Thoughts: If you're on a budget like I usually am, I'd recommend this card.
