5 out of 5 eggsTwo years and still working well

Pros: I needed a replacement AGP card for my Dell Dimension 8300 and this worked perfectly until I bought a new system. No problem installing drivers and worked with all the games I play.

Cons: No Issues

Other Thoughts: Note that this card requires a 400W+ power supply. The original power supply in my Dell 8300 was only 250W. The current power supply in my system is 480W.

5 out of 5 eggsAbsolutely Great Card but check AGP Aperture size before installing drivers!

Pros: Everything... even the 2D desktop looks more crisp and vivid then it did with my previous Radeon which was a top notch card circa 05. Others have commented on the pro's so I'll get to why I'm writing this...

Cons: It was a bit tricky to get this to work because my Aperture size was set to 2mb for my previous card. My previous card also had much faster memory then the system DDR. As such using the AGP aperture slowed it down so I set it to the lowest setting possible which greatly improved the performance of my previous card.

When I got this card I tried every driver available, followed everyone's tips and still couldn't get the HD 4670 driver to load.

After taking a step back and reading the details of the failed driver load in the device manager, which indicated a shortage of system resources, it came to me...

I then went into the bios of my ABIT Ai7, increased the AGP aperture size and the card worked perfectly! I'm now assuming many of the problems folks are having with this card is related to not having the AGP aperture set large enough to function on some sort of system level.

After some testing I concluded that the minimum AGP aperture size for this card to operate is 32MB. I am leaving it there for the same reason as my previous card; the 1GB of DDR3 on this card is much faster then the system's DDR so leaving it as small as possible will reduce the bottleneck of DDR system ram.

Summary of my 4 hour experience of getting this card to run in XP SP3:

1. Set AGP aperture to 32mg or larger in BIOS
2. Install ATI/AMD driver 8.65 from HIS website
3. Run 10-7 hotfix from HIS website
4. Run 12.6 Hotfix from AMD/ATI (link on HIS website)

Following these steps should get you up and running with what many consider to be the best AGP card you'll ever have!

Other Thoughts: Love this card, my 8 year old P4 3.4 with 4GB RAM overclocked slightly to 3.6 with 1:1 CPU/RAM ratios still rocks for 95% of whatever I need to do and is a decent gaming machine too! I will be setting up a dual boot drive with Windows 7 and if the system still works as good as it does now I'll keep using it!

5 out of 5 eggsGREAT CARD!

Pros: A fast AGP card. If you want to get more life out of your AMD XP or Pent4, this is the way to go. I just now upgraded my daughters computer because the processor failed, not because of the card. Gave me an extra 3 years out of her computer!

Cons: It's AGP, so it will not be able to go into a modern machine when you do upgrade the entire box.

Other Thoughts: I am not sure what anyone could complain about. There ARE drivers for XP, Win7 and Win8 - and they come straight from AMD, so no problems. I am using this card in a server box now - just installed win 7 pro again - and of course no problems. If they ever get the card in again, and you are not ready to spend hundreds on a completely new box - this is the way to go!

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome for AGP

Pros: 320 streaming cores and DX 10 support for AGP.

Cons: Had to do a fresh install of Xp pro to get this card to work. I tried 4 times to install just by removing old nvidia driver and installing the new drivers from the CD or the latest from the AMD website , nothing work and my system would crash to blue screens while gaming. You must also disable HD audio from the device manager . But if you want to keep your old system a while longer you must do a fresh install of the OS. It maybe a whole other story with Vista or Windows 7-8.

Other Thoughts: This card let you play Crysis warhead and Crysis II just great in Med setting... Thank you AMD for giving AGP a small lease on life with our older systems. This card replaced my Nvidia 7950 GT (agp) . The old card could not play those games.
And Thank you newegg for keeping this card available.

- highly recommended! -

My system:
Epox 9nda3I
AMD Opteron 165 @ 2.8
2g Corsair DDR 400
Antec 480w Ps

5 out of 5 eggsStill going strong...

Pros: Solid performer in pretty much anything I really threw at it, allows OC'ing, doesn't seem to make much noise. Somehow it still survives after over a year of heavy use and being in a home with cats ans smokers, so clearly the heatsink does its job lol

Cons: Wish it was cheaper. Just found a 3.6GHz P4 cpu online for 12 bucks and the mobo's can be had for maybe $40 online, if not free by the curb on appliance pickup day. Realy hope it might let me get away with GTA IV on lowest settings, but thats about all I couldn't play on it. I'd prefer to lug around a cheap old socket478 system to LANs than drag my main system

Other Thoughts: There are those who say it wont work in a dell, however it worked flawlessly in a Dimension 4600 I built up for older XP games, and my coworker snagged it from me a few months ago and plays Diablo III on it and loves it for his needs.... go figure

Dell Dimension 4600
Intel Pentium 4 HTT 3.0GHz 800FSB 1MB
2x1GB PNY DDR400, 2x512MB PNY DDR400 in dual channel
HIS Radeon HD 4670 AGP
XP Home SP3 32bit

5 out of 5 eggsNew Life to Old PC

Pros: AGP
Works as expected for the best AGP video card available.
Great replacement for dead GeForce 6800gt.
No problems once the Catalyst software could be installed.

Cons: The latest Catalyst software does not recognize this graphics card.
I made the mistake of downloading from AMD and trying to install the latest Catalyst drivers (12-6 at the time).
After 3 days of frustration I finally got it to work.
Must use 10-7_agp-hotfix_xp32_dd_ccc.exe downloaded from HIS website. Then you can get the latest drivers from AMD. That worked for me.

Other Thoughts: For about $120 I do not have to replace my 8+year old computer. Seems like good value to me since everything works fine.
System specs:
A64 3200+
Asus K8n-e delux
3GB ram
Radeon HD 4670 1GB
Windows XP 32

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Excellent speed for an AGP card; able to play most games circa 2010 and back at high-very high. HDMI support works great. Good life-span, works as good now as it did new.

Cons: Several Win7 driver support issues. You might be able to find working drivers if you dig for a bit, but the ones provided on the disk and on AMD's website don't seem to support aero as well as they should. Anymore you'd be better off upgrading as it doesn't match up to today's standards but great if you feel like beefing up an old WinXP AGP 8x build.

Other Thoughts: Needs to e cleaned regularly to allow proper airflow.

Pros: Makes a sempron 2800 have the ability to play blu rays.

Cons: Pricey
