1 out of 5 eggsGood while it lasts...

Pros: Runs all you throw at it at very high levels.

Cons: It went bad before the two year period, and the one I got in warranty went bad this week.

So both cards went bad one in warranty the second one is already out of warranty.

Other Thoughts: Longevity is an issue but you get a new card (equal or similar) if you are under the two year period. Over two years? You'll have to buy a new one (like me now).

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,
We are sorry for your situation and suggest you try to check following steps.
1. HD6850 was EOL item, if it was out of warranty, you can try to consider upgrading your configuration.
2. If possible verify the HIS graphics card on another working system or verify another working card on your motherboard. Need to ensure that the platform is no problem.
3. If you need further assistant, please feel free to contact our customer service department directly.

Best Regards
HIS Customer Service (webenquiry@hightech.com.hk)

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: - Still running in my system right now (2011-2015)
- Excellent price to performance ratio, and longevity. Cards with similar performance only started selling for less than I paid about a year ago.
- Still runs almost anything with medium settings @ 1080p.

Cons: - Runs extremely hot. Will cause CTDs under full load in some games.
- Always ran a little loud, but after about 2 1/2 years the fan started making really awful noises. Can't wait to upgrade...

Other Thoughts: - If you're in the market for a new graphics card, I would recommend based on my experience with this card to go ahead and spend that extra $15-20 for a version with a high quality fan. In the long run you will be glad you did.

4 out of 5 eggsReally nice GPU

Pros: Was a really nice card while she ran in my system, was able to play DnF and Deus Ex: Human Revolution on Max settings. Played Skyrim on High Settings on 1080p. was a nice card when I used it

Cons: After owing the card for about 3 years, the CPU fan started making loud noises and I had to replace it.... wish these fans had longevity

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent after 3 years

Pros: 3 years running strong, plays most modern games smooth 30 FPS average such as Crysis 3, FC3, and Tomb raider to name a few from my steam collection. I installed an aftermarket cooler turbo artic, runs it nice and cool.

Cons: Ran very hot, however I simply invested in an aftermarket cooler for around $30

5 out of 5 eggsStill going strong after 3 years

Pros: Performance is as expected when compared to benchmarks. I run dual monitor and it has no issues running both, main monitor is 120hz 1920x1080 and it runs games with no issues.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I have owned the card for over 3 years and it is performing exactly as it should, would definitely buy from HIS again.

5 out of 5 eggs3 years and going

Pros: I've had this bad boy running for 3 years, never had issues running any of games.

Cons: None that I can think of.

Other Thoughts: Much like any other gpu, be sure to keep your drivers update or if your not have any issues dont update them, until you run into an issue. I typically update the drivers once a year.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat performance, some issues

Pros: Great performance for the price. I can run nearly every modern game at high or ultra settings with no slowdown. Easy to install, fits in most form factor computers.

Cons: Overheats easily during summer, occasional hard crashes when dealing with specific programs (specifically DirectX 11)

Other Thoughts: I suspect this card would be a 5 egg item for me if I had a stronger cooling system, as my rig does not have anything besides stock fans.

The crash issues have been a recurring and incredibly frustrating issue. I suspect the drivers are at the root of the issue, but people with Radeon 6800 series cards seem to often experience the same crashes as I have when dealing with modern games.

1 out of 5 eggsEHH

Pros: Fast when it decides to work.

Cons: I can only play about half my games ever since I installed this video card. When playing certain games like Skyrim, SimsCity (2013), and Battlefield 3 to name a few, my PC monitor turns black and forces me to do a hard reset after about 15min of playing the game. I never had any problems with my old Geforce 6600GT while playing some of these games.

After owning this card for almost 2 years (one month left on warranty) I am now going through the RMA process to get this card fixed. I will post an update on how HIS RMA process goes.

Other Thoughts: I don't think I will be buying another HIS and maybe even a Radeon graphics card. I never had any problems with Nvidia and will probably go back with them.

5 out of 5 eggsTakes Everything I Throw At It

Pros: This card can really render! It runs every game I own on highest settings without a stutter. Admittedly, I don't have the very latest and greatest games, as I keep back apace from cutting edge in order to keep costs down, but it still runs some of the newer games perfectly. It also does extremely well in rendering 3D in SolidWorks.

Cons: I honestly can't think of any. Of course, I don't care for the ATI Catalyst Control software, but I just don't use it. It just sits in a dusty directory, out of sight out of mind.

Other Thoughts: I bought this when it had only been out for a few weeks, and I don't regret it for a second. I adore this video card, but it isn't new anymore. If you're looking to blaze through Crysis 4 on highest settings, you're going to need to shell out some serious cash for a different card. If you just want some amazing graphics for a great prize, low power consumption, and cool/quiet performance, get this card.
