1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: -Got it for a good price black friday 2011.
-Runs games well.
-Free game.

Cons: After owning it for about a year, started having problems.
It gets HOT playing not so demanding games (WoW, LoL, EQ2) going up to 75c in a well ventilated case with fan cranked up to 80%. when I played BL2/Skyrim and sometimes in LoL the temp would go >80c and bsod the whole computer

5 out of 5 eggsBeast

Pros: This thing is a monster. Have not found a game to challenge it yet (2013)!

Cons: Big

Other Thoughts: Bought this on black friday 2011 for a big discount... best video card I've ever bought. 2 years later and it's still unopposed

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: I have two of these guys and I have no idea how much power they actually have. No game has tested them yet. Skyrim, Witcher 2, ect does not seem to touch them.

Cons: Two may have been unnecessary--that that is not really a con.

4 out of 5 eggsHIS 6970

Pros: It plays all my games maxed out on 3 22" monitors. CoD WaW CoD BO never drop below 55fps and usually hang around 75-80fps, F3AR DX11 maxed (no AA it just kills one card in eyefinity) @ a very playable 45-50fps never drops below 30fps. This was a nice improvement over my previous 5770 CFX

Cons: Because of the gaming perfomance i only took off 1 egg, but the fan is rediculously loud, and i mean hair dryer loud. @ 70% it stays around 82-85c but at that speed it takes away from the gaming experience. I am considering replacing the thermal compund (which is no doubt some junk they got cheap for a bulk price) but I'm leary to do so cause I know it will void the warranty.

Other Thoughts: I decided to go for a multiple hardware system upgrade for $500.00 (CPU, RAM, GPU) rather than drop $570.00 on 1 7970. When the tax returns get here i'll add another for CFX and be good to go for at least 2 more years.

3 out of 5 eggsGood Card

Pros: Awesome performance, I'm playing Skyrim, BF3 and others at highest graphics at an average of 60fps with no overclocking.

Cons: Updating the drivers causes major problems. It might be compatibility with my monitor (HP 2311x LED). Newer drivers will not keep resolution settings.

Other Thoughts: Great card if you want the most out of your games. Install the drivers on the CD and don't update unless you want a headache.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing.

Pros: Card is amazingly fast. Chews up anything without even trouble. Supports 4 monitors. 60C on ultra in bf3

Cons: The fan is loud. Really loud. But I guess it doesn't really bother me. I have a lanboy air with 13 fans already, its not really a big deal.

Other Thoughts: Bought a zotac 570 and was nothing but problems and trouble. Ill never buy zotac again. It made me want to try ATI for the first time and now I'm not sure if ill ever look back.

3 out of 5 eggsForget about water cooling

Pros: Fastest card I've ever owned
BitCoin GUIMiner pulls in about 350 Mhash/s compared to my Radeon HD 5750 series card which only does about 120
Black Friday 2011 deal was a great price on this card for a 6970

Cons: Loud, non-reference PCB, gets up to about 90 degrees C under full load

Other Thoughts: I wanted to stick a Swiftech KOMODO-HD6900 water block on this card to quiet it down but it has a PCB version C20431 (the picture on newegg shows the PCB version in a slightly different location and appears to be C20401 which would have been great) Unfortunately, I can't find a compatible full cover water block for C20431. Swiftech's HD6970 (which doesn't look like it is anywhere near as good as the KOMODO) heatsink MIGHT work with this card with a water block only covering the GPU but it isn't explicitly called out on the compatibility list.

PS. Why the heck doesn't newegg offer email support?!?

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing carddd

Pros: To loud?? My laptop was 10x louder when it game to playing games. This card is so quiet. And its out performing what all the specs say it should. I'm getting 90 fps minimum in battlefield 3 with all settings on ultra. This is one great card.

Cons: Can't think of any, so far its been great. Besides the free game it came with is stupid as hell, much rather of gotten dirt 3 then dues ex.

Other Thoughts: I did just build my system 2 days ago, so ill update this in a few months.

2 out of 5 eggsNoise makes it a no buy in my book

Pros: Runs games like any 6970 card very fast. Does not cost as much as many 6970 cards out there. No lockups or problems with the card.

Cons: Absolutely unbearably loud. Sounds like a hand held vacume cleaner when playing games. It will even spin up and get a little noisy just watching youtube videos. It should be absolutely silent when doing this sort of thing.

Had to finally buy and put on an aftermarket cooler, now its dead silent even under full load. If you do not want your computer emit deafening fan noise might want to avoid this card and get one with better cooling options already installed.
