5 out of 5 eggsGreat Warranty Support from HIS

Pros: I had written earlier about the fan going out in this card after about a year. I contacted HIS support and shipped back the card as per their instructions. I have just received back a brand new card of the same model. I installed the new card and everything again works great. The support was through a 3rd party company but everything pretty straight forward and I didn't have any problems along the way. Too bad they don't still sell the card I would buy a second for crossfire.

Cons: Card's fan went out after a year - but HIS replaced with a new card.

Other Thoughts: Thanks again to HIS support for resolving the issue. I am very happy with the results!

2 out of 5 eggsFan Stopped working

Pros: The card was fast for running games

Cons: The fan when it was working could get loud. Now after a year the video card fan will intermittently work. The card when the fan stops working will spike over 90C and cause my PC to shut down :(

Other Thoughts: Ive had other HIS products (a Radeon 800GTO) and this is the first that has died. I'll bump up the eggs if HIS takes care of it since its under warranty.

1 out of 5 eggsFailed after a year

Pros: Good price, good performance

Cons: After a year it began artifacting and showing weird colored lines. I removed and cleaned the card, but kept getting the same screen corruption. I tried multiple outputs (both DVI ports and HDMI), I tried using it in my wife's PC. All with the same result.

As soon as the warranty period expired it died on me... Fantastic.

3 out of 5 eggsGood Card but fan is defective

Pros: This is the first HSI product I have purchased. Runs almost any game at high settings. Good price for the card, especially when I bought it in 2011. I would buy the card again in a second if it wasn't for the problem I mention in the Cons.

Cons: I am having the same problem as kwtan88. It is about a year later and fan started grinding and card is overheating. The card started going out yesterday and it would turn off my computer. I tried cleaning everything out, moving the card to another port on the MB. Can not resolve myself. I will be calling support and hopefully they can help.

Other Thoughts: I have been very happy with this card up until the grinding fan issue. I will be contacting HSI support and hopefully they can help resolve the issue.

2 out of 5 eggsUgh

Pros: Can run almost any game at high settings even a year later. Fair price.

Cons: It is EXTREMELY loud. The other reviewers hit it spot on. It's either quiet or going all out. You get used to it after a while but getting used to something shouldn't be required when you shell out $260 bucks for a supposedly quality product

A year later, randomly, the internal fan seems defective. It emits a terrible grinding noise and starts and stops and gets to over 100 degrees easily when under load and runs in the 60's on idle. I expected better from HIS.

Other Thoughts: Submitted a ticket to HIS and hope to get this replaced. Difficult to reach HIS customer service so far. Will update if resolved.

2 out of 5 eggsFast, but obnoxiously loud

Pros: I play alot of videogames. I normally play at 1920x1080 using the highest settings I can get by with. I'm using a core i5 quad core 3.3ghz processor and so far, the combination of the two has run everything at nearly the highest settings. Of course, it runs WoW at max settings, which was my main goal, and LOTR online at close to max settings. It's fast, and that's about the only good thing I can say about it.

Cons: The fan is quite loud. There is no middle ground with it. Its either quiet, or running full tilt, sounding like a hair dryer. I'm getting more used to it. But, its annoying that it kicks on during some minor 2d applications, like watching movies or playing older games. But, I guess it would kick on with hardware acceleration of the movies. Still, louder than I wanted, and quite obnoxious. I've used alot of videocards over the years, and this one is by far the loudest.

Other Thoughts: I already threw away the packaging, which I never do. But, this time, for some reason...I tossed it. Otherwise, I'd have probably RMA'd this card. I'll probably replace it as soon as something similarly priced becomes available with a little more power. Right now, there's nothing at the two hundred dollar price point that can compare.
I've had the most horrible luck with ATI cards. This is my 3rd one. The first two died within a year. Now this one is a dissapointment. I have 6 PCs in the house that I've built, support, and upgrade, and I think it's safe to say, this is the last AMD card I'll buy for awhile. I normally stick with Nvidia, but they had nothing to compete with this card at the time of my purchase. I've had much, much better luck with their cards.

2 out of 5 eggsWorked, sorta

Pros: Powerful, cheap

Cons: Fan ran at 100% anytime the card reached 60* C even though in the cards bios it should have been 4X%. HIS Support said to RMA, I tried to fix it with bios work, but it appears to have been a bad controller on the card. Newegg handled the return flawlessly as always

Other Thoughts: I will be staying away from HIS cards due to their quality control issues.

1 out of 5 eggsAweful Card

Pros: Low Price

Cons: - Fan Reving without control
- Fan Reving during simple low stress applications such as MS Excel.
- Not a reference design so you cannot change out the Cooling solution

Other Thoughts: If you don't care about the noise then this is a great card. I strive for quite PCs so this card definitly isn't a good solution. The fact that there are zero fan controls leads me to believe that this card is broken.

Kudos to New Egg for issuing an dRAM

2 out of 5 eggsPerhaps a bit loud...

Pros: It will play just about any game you can throw at it on high or highest settings, but this is expected from an expensive card in my opinion.

Cons: Perhaps it's a bit loud... My roommate and I are building computers and he decided to shell out the money for this card. I think he's only used profanity and the word "abnoxious" when this thing turns on. It runs at 10000% when he checks his facebook. We live in a dorm and my buddy down the hall said he knew my roommates computer arrived because he could hear it in his own room down the hall and across the way. Napping is no longer an option, and I can sleep through ANYTHING. Yeah, it's a great graphics card, but it's even better at agitating people.

Other Thoughts: Sure it'll play games on the highest settings, but my roommates speakers are barely loud enough to hear characters talk over the fan. I think they should sell this product with a pair of shooting earmuffs.

1 out of 5 eggsDefective product

Pros: Great card if it was to run correctly.

Cons: Obviously a defective product that HIS is selling ot its customers. Fan reving up and down for no reason and you can't control it .
