5 out of 5 eggsNice Video card

Pros: For being a little brother in the series, this card is very reliable and blows my old 9800 out of the water by a longshot. It scored pretty high in furmark, but not as high as I thought. But I sort of expected that.

Cons: it runs a bit warm in a machine with tons of cooling options, but it never has gone into a dangerous level of temperature, usually ranging from 45c to 67c.

Other Thoughts: This is a quality card and HiS could have done more for the cooling, but it's not enough to strip an egg.

5 out of 5 eggsNice

Pros: Very powerful, 3 Gb ram, overclocks well, looks good, cools great, quiet. I cant complain really. It does what it says it does. Drivers work fine. Running a i5 2500k W7 64

Its quieter and cooler than my 6870

Cons: The 3Dmark scores were a little low. P6555 but with the i5 clocked at 4.3 and the card at 1050 they went to P7900. GPU was 67c

And the price is high

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing card

Pros: This card surpasses my 6850 cfx without an overclock. While the max fps is a little lower (around 10-15%), what matters is the minimum fps which got a healthy boost. I have mine overclocked at 1100/1525 @ 1.2volts tested by future mark for stability. 140 deg F is 60C which is nothing. This card is designed to run in the high 70's low 80's.

Future mark 11 P score 7630

Cons: I like this card so much that I already want twins after 3 days. Must wait for kepler for the price drops first.

Other Thoughts: Make sure to download the 12.2 drivers and the RC11 drivers in addition. There is also a file you need called atiumdmv.dll to place in the syswow64 or 32bit depending on OS to be able to overclock using sapphire trixx.

4 out of 5 eggsIt's quick.

Pros: It's fast and the power consumption isn't too bad even at full load.
Even with the fan at 100% the noise level was acceptable.

Power draw is only a few watts higher than the card it replaced but the boost in performance is significant

Power connectors come out to the side opposite the pci-e connector - much easier to get to than a card with the power connectors on the end.

GPU-dependent games will fly.

Cons: Drivers for this series are new and not fully tested by large numbers of people.

The card has to get hot (+140F) before the fan really kicks on.

Other Thoughts: Upgraded from an HiS 5850 iCooler V.

In regards to temp - keeping the video card running cool helps to keep the overall system temp cool.
If there was no potential issue with excessive heat transfer to the surrounding components I'd let it get as hot as HiS/Amd would let it.
