5 out of 5 eggsGreat card

Pros: This card is extremely quite, cool and shows amazing. I can a lot of big name games on High or Ultra settings with no problem. On high or ultra settings, my card and whole casing remains at a nice 32 degrees and my whole PC at 43 degrees, my CPU runs at around 40-45 degrees. I know that it may be irrelevant but if my cards is cool than my whole PC stays cool.

Cons: There no real set back to why or where I would place a con at but for owning this for around 4-6 months, I think this card is best bang for your buck.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat!!

Pros: This is probably the third one I have bought, and I must say, I'm still and probably will never be disappointed with this video card. It works great, and plays all the games I want, no lag or hiccups. Great Price!

Cons: none

2 out of 5 eggsDefective card

Pros: RMA process was very effective and resolved all my issues thoroughly.

Cons: The card i received was defective. Nothing would ever show up on my monitor. I got two other cards to work on my rig so I am very certain the issue was with the card itself.

The video card also came with 2 codes to download games, but neither of those codes worked, either. I was told both codes were "invalid" upon entering them.

So, none of the items i ordered worked.

Other Thoughts: Newegg has been very good and consistent with the return process and i got all my money back. While the process was in no way fun, i am very satisfied with how it was handled now that it is all over with.

1 out of 5 eggsHigh expectations for the next one.

Pros: None so far. In the RMA process, will update this review once the new one comes in.

Cons: DOA. I'm a little upset as this seems to be new on the market, and I've bought HIS before with no issues. But these sort of things happen, so I have high hopes for the next one that comes in.

Other Thoughts: Plugged in, no display whatsoever. The fan on it was running, and all the other systems seemed to be running fine, just no picture on any of the ports. Pulled it out and tried it on another system I have. Same results. If it's to the point where it doesn't even display the POST, then it clearly isn't a driver issue. As I said before, I'm not mad, just a little disappointed that quality testing is so poor. It seems like I have to RMA 1/4th of the items I buy anymore.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat step up from entry-level.

Pros: This card's performance is noticeably higher than the 7770 GHz Edition GPU that it replaced. It's not quite as impressive as the 7850 1GB I have in another machine, but its performance is closer to the 7850 than the 7770. Power draw (as measured with a Kill-a-Watt) is closer to the 7770 - in fact, the 7790 pulls only about 10W more than the 7770. The 7790 scores a 7.7 in Windows 7's Experience Index, and I can play Far Cry 3 passably at 1080p on Ultra Quality, though it's much smoother at 1080p on Med-High Quality. Crysis: Warhead manages about 40-50 frames per second at 1080p on Enthusiast/Good, and BF3 at 1080p is 50+ fps on Ultra Quality.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: The performance is more like a 7850, the power draw is more like a 7770, with the game bundle the price is more like a 7770. If you're considering a 7770, then seriously consider springing a few more dollars on a 7790. The price:performance ratio for these 7790s is the best in AMD's GPU lineup right now, in my opinion.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: Supports at least 4 monitors (4 is all I run).
Runs very quiet (my case fans are louder).
Price is decent to good.
Free game.

Cons: This is no longer top of the line, hence the lower/decent price.
The cooler is longer than others (about 1/4 of an inch) making it a tight fit on smaller cases. (I personally had to move my hard drive)
The free game is a Steam download :(

Other Thoughts: This was an upgrade from a HIS HD 5590. After five almost six years the fan went out on that card causing it to overheat. Yes this is a PCI-E 3.0 x16 card and the motherboard only had the original PCI-E (1.0) x16 slot, but it works fine. In fact it is a great improvement in terms of quality, and video processing power. I play a game called EVE Online, and I would often run 4 copies of the game at the same time. With the old card there was a little lag doing that on max settings. With more than 4 copies running it was unplayable. With this card there is no lag running 6 copies of the game on max settings (I only have 6 accounts so I cannot test it further, but I would surmise about an 8 account cap based on cpu/ram usage).

HIS in general is a great brand name in my opinion. I personally have preferred this brand over others for many years now, and have never had a card fail on me in less than four years. Additionally I repair computers for a living and have found next to none of the bad video cards with the HIS brand name. There are other brands that I will not mention that I see much more often.

Currently I run a five almost six year old personal built computer with an AMD Phenom X4 9850, 8 GB of RAM, and 4x Dell ST2320L 23in widescreen monitors at 1920x1080 resolution. Yes it goes higher, but my eyesight is not what it used to be. I personally am planing to upgrade my computer by the end of the year, and this video card is the second piece I bought out of necessity. The monitors were the first pieces I bought, and ironically they were also out of necessity.

Overall this is a great video card that has given my old pc new life.
