2 out of 5 eggsRMA choas

Pros: Great price when I bought it and spec to price ratio is really good.

Cons: Horrible RMA. If you turned in the UPC for your rebait then it makes it even harder. Newegg will not accept an RMA without the UPC. This leaves you to go to the HIS RMA service that is LexyPacific. They make you pay to ship it to them which is about 15 dollars from the east coast. I tracked the package and it arrived at their RMA building and they did not update or tell me they recived it until after a week after it had arrived. After all that time you then have to wait 2-4 weeks to get the new card back. Basically if there is an issue with your card when you receive it you will not be using it for a long time.

Other Thoughts: Customer service over the phone is the quickest and most polite out of any company I have talked to over the phone.

2 out of 5 eggsGreat card, Horrible RMA service

Pros: Card runs Quiet and cool.Very solid and can run some high intense graphic games at 50-60 fps average.

Cons: RMA service is horrible. When I first bought my card it came defective. For the first couple of weeks it was going black after playing a high graphic game for around 6 minutes. I thought that I was doing something wrong and did not rma it with newegg since the 30 days had past so I had to do it with Lexy Pacific(HIS distributor company). First off they make you pay to ship them the defective card to Sunnyvale Ca.Which I though was bad enought but they played for the return shipping. They took an entire 4 weeks to process and return my card. I dont recommend buying this card because from I have seen defective cards are somewhat common and the rma process is horrible.

1 out of 5 eggsHorrid RMA service

Pros: It's a solid card for its price and tier, and it runs both cool and quiet. I really want to love this card.

Cons: My card was defective. It worked for a bit (sometimes 10 minutes, sometimes 100 minutes) and then would blackscreen whenever I was streaming or playing a game.

So I had to RMA it, having to pay shipping to send it to the company to replace it. Even then I didn't figure this was that big of an issue.

However, I was wrong, and this is where the problem comes in and why I can't recommmend HIS. HIS's RMA service (done through LexyPacific) is godawful.

I put in an RMA request a month ago and they still haven't sent out a replacement card. They have my old card (received it January 26th) and are 'processing' the RMA. They say that they'll send me my replacement when they get the shipment from their supplier, which they get weekly.

The thing is, this is the same excuse they give me every week. They still have not even shipped a new card to me. So either they don't get shipments weekly like they're saying, or they're not getting my card. Either way, they're lying.

Avoid this brand. While the odds of getting a dud might be manageable, the consequences of it happening are way too high.

Other Thoughts: At this point I've actually spent significantly more time WITHOUT the card than I did WITH it. They had originally said it'd take roughly 2 weeks to get a replacement, not more than a month. Thank goodness I have my old card.

1 out of 5 eggsbad customer service

Pros: good price

Cons: received DOA but because newegg rushes you on rebatei cut off UPC but still had possession of it but they would not take back so I had to send it to third party that then sent to manufacturer and here it is a month and 3 days and they keep telling me it'll b in next shipment which is a weekly thing. still waiting

5 out of 5 eggsBest gaming experience yet!

Pros: -Overall very happy with this video card
-temps stay nice and low
-almost silent during normal operations, and even though the fan does produce some sound when playing graphic-intensive games, the sound from the games drowns it out almost completely (can only really hear it when I pause the game)
-Plays Skyrim on MAX settings (as well as every other game I've played on it so far but Skyrim was the most graphic-intensive)

Cons: -WOW this card is huge. not sure how it compares to other video cards of this generation (last build was with a gtx 9800+) but it certainly surprised me. It still fits in my case just fine though but it is blocking some hard drive slots.

2 out of 5 eggsScreen artifacting

Pros: Nice card price with rebate.

Cons: From day one the card had issues with BSOD. Tried different drivers and seem to stabilize for a time. Now the card is having artifacts with blue and green lines across the screen. Windows keeps popping up a warning telling me that the video driver has stopped responding and eventually the pc locks up and has to be restarted. Tried different drivers with no luck. Installed a R7 265 and pc now runs without any video issues.

Other Thoughts: Since the return window is up to return this card to Newegg I will have to deal with HIS support for an RMA.

2 out of 5 eggsGot a defective one

Pros: -Performance by cost is actually quite high. While I got this card as an upgrade to a 6850, this is a good card for an early build.
-VERY quiet and seems to do a good job of managing its temperatures

Cons: -If you're upgrading, it's probably better to stretch your wallet a bit more and get a stronger card. This is a good card, but it's still much more budgeted than its bigger siblings.

I started having issues as well.
-First issue I had was a screen flicker at the bottom of my extended display when I first installed it. I was able to relieve it for a bit by adjusting refresh rate.
-After about 2-3 weeks of use (and after I had already sent in my rebate, meaning I could no longer go through newegg for a replacement), I started getting a weird crash issue. My screen would cut to black after a few minutes to a few hours of use. My PC would still be running but there would be no response, BSOD, or crash report after a hard reset. EventViewer had nothing abnormal to report either. I tried numerous fixes, from older drivers to underclocking it only to still get the same issue.

Other Thoughts: I provided a review earlier, this is an updated one now that I'm finding I'm having issues.
I chose HIS because they seemed to have a low frequency of problematic cards. Looking at the build I think they still tend to have higher integrity build quality compared to some other manufacturers, and I just got unlucky, but either way a defective card is still a defective card.
I'm in the process of RMA'ing the card through the manufacturer. In the meantime I'm back to my 6850.

4 out of 5 eggsGood so far

Pros: It works well!
Cheap, comparatively. I didn't get the rebate though. I honestly wouldn't have wanted to bother, but that seemed like a good deal.

Games are running much smoother, it's running Bioshock Infinite at 60 FPS with all settings maxed out, haven't tried any newer games as of yet.

It's also running decently off a 500W PSU, and doesn't seem to be getting very hot under load, it maxed out at 55C during Bioshock.

Cons: Well, this Graphics card is much chunkier than I expected it to be... It also seems to be sagging under its own weight, and I'm not sure whether to attribute it to the build quality or if all video cards do that... If it becomes a problem I'll definitely update this review.

I also received a graphical glitch I've never had happen before- my computer froze upon waking up from sleep and displayed a multicolored screen. I'll see if that problem occurs again, hopefully not. Docked an egg for what could be flimsy build quality and a possibly malfunctioning video card.

Other Thoughts: Just realize how big this graphics card really is. It takes up the whole interior of my case and is just almost touching my hard drive bay.

5 out of 5 eggscrazy deal

Pros: stupid crazy sale price + rebate on R9 270X
so far so good. not overheating. not noticing any graphical glitches others have stated.
able to run all the games I throw at it on the highest settings
highest temp I've seen it get is low 70's F. Idles @ 35F.

Cons: card built for economical price meaning cheapest lowest quality components that deliver stated clock speed/performance. Not intended for overclocking.
can't replace therm paste without voiding warranty
AMD CCC now includes pointless "Gaming Evolved" junk ware app (will install as RAPTR)

Other Thoughts: Not used to seeing a video card as big as this. Make sure your case has enough room!

Fan noise is noticeable, but not loud.

I HATE shopping for video cards. Between reviews that bash cards over legit bad performance because of poor video drivers, horror stories of over heating, or people blaming the manufacturer after they ruin the cards themselves, its hard to tell if any card is any good. It always seems half the reviews for any card are negative. Often times over problems that used to exist, but don't anymore.

This HIS IceQX2 card has been running solid close to a month now. Will update with an angry review if it dies on me within the year..
