The HIS IceQ OC H280QC3G2M is powered by a Radeon R9 280, the latest AMD GPU designed to take your gaming to the next level. Based on AMD second-generation GCN architecture and boasting support for DirectX 11.2, the Radeon R9 280 gives you the power to drive today’s hottest games — and tomorrow’s, keeping you in the fight whatever the circumstances. With Ultra Resolution Gaming you can leave HD in the dust by gaming on displays much, much larger. Whether using a 4k monitor or combining multiple HD monitors, you’ll get an expansive experience that’s truly out of sight. A rich set of AMD innovative technologies is included, such as App Acceleration, AMD PowerTune, AMD ZeroCore, and AMD HD3D technology. With these technology advancements, you'll get more than one way to elevate your gaming experience.

This card is slightly overclocked to 953MHz Boost Clock (standard 933MHz) for smoother gameplay. The IceQ cooling solution, selection of top-notch components, and meticulous build ensure reliability, stability, and durability for hassle-free high-load gaming in challenging environments.

  • newegg IceQ – Cooler, Quieter With IceQ, the card is cooler and quieter than the reference design. 2x 6mm plus 2x 8mm wide heatpipes optimize cooling performance by removing heat from the core area. The extra large 35 x 28 mm copper heatbase provides a large heat dissipation area. The super large 80 x 21.5mm single blower fan draws a massive amount of cool air to cool the GPU directly. The black hole impeller ensures a large amount of cool air is ready. It draws cool air from both sides of the fan, even if there is another card blocking the fan inlet on the front, such as in a CrossFire setup. The card also features fan control and fan monitoring; you are able to read the fan speed and Asic temperature from the CCC or software. The card is below 28dB when watching movies, surfing Facebook, or working. The card remains quiet whether you are gaming, socializing online, or entertaining.
  • newegg Special Metal Rib The PCB might easily warp due to prolonged hanging on motherboard and casing, potentially causing cracks on the BGA solder joints and resulting in malfunctioning of the card. The HIS special metal rib provides extra strength to the PCBs to avoid warping, making the cards extra stable and durable. You can count on HIS cards to game hard 24/7/365 for years!
  • newegg OC Equipment OC material is ready for overclocking to the limit! HIS cards utilize a Dynamic Phase Control PWM IC to save power for better use. Along with a digital power design and a two-ounce copper layer, HIS cards make the best out of power, allowing users to tune clock speeds to the full potential! A solid state choke stabilizes the card, while full solid state capacitors ensure the best power quality and enhance the card’s stability in critical gaming situations!
  • newegg Second-Generation GCN With AMD's second-generation GCN technology, the card optimizes DirectX 11.2 gaming performance automatically up to 2.5 times faster! It also offers up to 4.5x compute performance and up to 95% lower GPU idle power consumption!
  • newegg Mantle There’s optimization, and then there’s Mantle. Games enabled with Mantle speak the language of GCN architecture to unlock revolutionary performance and image quality. (Application support is required.)
  • newegg See More, Win More! The card is capable to turn your computer into a super gaming machine. Enjoy the latest 3D games with stunning graphics and effects that your enemies cannot match! Get an immersive experience with AMD Eyefinity! Expand your game across up to four displays, while your opponents have just one monitor. Along with all-new support for stereo 3D, universal bezel compensation, and brand-new display configurations, take unfair advantage of your opponents and win more with surround sight.

1 out of 5 eggsHope you dont need support

Pros: None yet

Cons: I had a problem with the HDMI port at the back of my card so I decided to do a warranty claim.
If you have to do a warranty claim with the US distributor, good luck! You ship your card back to them, in CA and they then ship it to Asia. The Asian factory ships a replacement card to them and they then ship it to you. They wont touch their US inventory. So after being without a graphics card for 5 weeks(!!!) I got my replacement. But almost immediately after launching a 3D application, I would get colored lines or a blue screen. Tried different drivers, no difference.
So to test, I borrowed a friends Sapphire R9-270 card and my system was completely stable and remained so for the week I had it.
So I called Lexiypacific again and they just told me to file a new warranty application and they will just follow the same procedure. They cant do anything else to help!
So at the end of this, it looks like hopefully after 11weeks, Ill have a functional GPU again, maybe? Terrible customer service system.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Card

Pros: Excellent card. I play Civilization 5. It's at maxed setting running at 75fps which my monitor is. I'm sure if I had 144hz monitor it would be close. Very quiet at 100% fan speed. I had an msi gtx 660 ti at 70% fan speed was louder.
Can get 1100mhz on clock speed and 1500 on memory OC. But I'm only running 1000 on core and 1360 on memory because it's overkill for what I'm doing. Civ 5 only uses 1.3 gigs of ram. Large card. Feels quality. Got it for $249 on sale with $150 game coupon.
The CCC was easy and no problems like sone people have. No problems. Was one of the things I was hesitant buying this card over a gtx 760. But I'm glad I did.

Cons: Only cons are it really are: it droops slightly in my case and the r9 270 has almost same performance for less. It's like 5fps average difference. OC is not great on these cards. Could get a higher end 270 for better performance. The 7950 never did good for having like 500 more shaders than the 7870. Bad on amd. But

Other Thoughts: Still a decent card, runs great with zero problems. If it was on sale I would buy it. At regular price, no way. Even with $150 game coupon. Card itself is good just AMD put the 280 in a hard spot to sell. Spend the same on a gtx 760 or save some and get the 270x. It's all similar performance. Give or take some fps. This card other than price is great. Specially if you need that extra gig of ram over 2gig cards.

1 out of 5 eggsDO NOT BUY!!!

Pros: None

Cons: This card arrived with the cooler inoperative. Newegg would not replace it because I sent in a mail-in rebate. The mail-in rebate was declined because newegg did not include the plastic wrap with bar code in the packaging. HiS would not replace the card despite a 30-day no questions replacement guarantee because Newegg would not accept the product for RMA. I was finally told to mail the product to a third party for inspection at my own cost, and if it was found to be faulty it would be repaired. Now I am $235 into a card that I payed $189 for, and it still doesn't work!!!!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card but runs a little hot.

Pros: This card is amazing. I threw pretty much everything I could at it and it didn't budge for anything. Currently, my system is running on the AMD fx-6350 CPU(not over clocked), 850watt PSU,8Gb of ram and this card. I could tell you from testing it brutally that it can hold up to the finest games of the present time without a doubt. For under 180$ this card was a great upgrade from my previous HIS Radeon HD 6950 GPU. I didn't bother stating everything that was good about this card since the other reviewers beat me to it. However, I did run benchmarks and tests as results.

These are the Temperatures I got with a enclosed case (sound reducing case).

Web browsing and no GPU intensive programs; Avg Temps: 45-47C

Battlefield 4; Avg Temps:80-82C Settings:Ultra 1080p Avg Fps: 45-50

Planetside 2; Avg Temps: 80-84 Settings: Max 1080p Avg Fps: 57-60

Outlast; Avg Temps: 70-73C Settings: Max 1080p Avg Fps:60+

Just Cause 2 (online multiplayer); Avg Temps: 68-73C Settings: Max 1080p Avg Fps: 28-33 During intense airport battles
Avg Fps: 58-60 during casual online battles in all other areas

Min:65
Batman Arkham Origins (benchmark); Avg Temp: 80-82C Settings: Max 1080p Fps: Max:159
Avg:106

So far so good. I did also run it through a few minutes of extreme tests and it ran with a consistent 94-95C. Which is not so bad considering it only has one fan and my case is very enclosed. The case I chose does not allow for much air flow even though I have five fans running. So, if you have a more ventilated case I would expect 5-10C lower than my temps.

Cons: As for the Cons, all I can say is the size of this card is enormous. It really takes up two and a half slots, so be prepared for that. Also, I had to RMA the first card because it was defective. I wasn't too upset since this was a upgrade and not a new build, so I chose to wait. But, other than those two I can't see any other faults to this card. I will update if this card suddenly fails or any other complications arise.

Other Thoughts: Newegg was fantastic. Their customer service was top notch when it came to resolving my issue. They RMA'd my card and replaced it with a free 2nd day AIR shipping. You can't beat the egg.

4 out of 5 eggssweet card

Pros: plays games on ultra at 1080p with playable framerates. it is paired with a fx-6350. tomb raider 2013 on ultra with tress fx with a slight frame rate drop here and there but its rare and hardly noticeable. i don't own them yet but metro, far cry and a few randoms will probably bring it to its knees at 1080p. fairly quiet. my stock amd cooler fan is louder than this card. no coil whine that I can tell. I have it running just fine on a 650 watt power supply. a 750w is recommended. worked the very first time I hooked it up without issue. not an ugly card to me. I like blue led to light the inside of my case and this goes with that theme. it fits in my mini tower despite how big this is. I had to take out the floppy cage for it to fit but I didn't use it anyways. doesn't seem to get very hot and I've used for a few hours straight heavy gaming,

Cons: its more like a 3 slot card and makes all my expansion slots unusable so I can't use my trusty thx Audigy card anymore. i do have a matx board though. a full atx board would probably not have this issue but don't quote me on it. not the end of the world as this gpu has audio through the hdmi cable. with it being as big as it is I think doing a two fan setup would make it near silent. no crossfire bridge is included and they really couldn't throw a couple screws in with it for mounting. my psu came with extras so it worked out.

Other Thoughts: my mobo had to be rma'd back to the factory right when I ordered this so today when I got my replacement finally I was able to use this card. I am very happy with it. its my first card since 64mb cards were for the hard core gamer. I can't believe how much more beautiful games look and run with it. if new egg hadn't had this on such an insane deal I would have spent the extra 30 bux and picked up the 280x instead which would be a little wiser but I can't complain at all with how well this is working out for me. very excellent product. I will also add for the most part if you aren't crossfiring, playing above 1080p, or playing a game with a lot of mods and texture packs 3gb of vram is a little over kill but may come in handy down the road.

5 out of 5 eggsSo far, so great!

Pros: Definitely a big card. The HIS iTurbo app rivals MSI Afterburner IMO.

Getting 80+ FPS using Heaven benchmark. Steady 80 Celsius at max load Turbo OC (I also have five case fans).

Running my entire Steam library on ultra w/ 60+ FPS solid.

Worth the money. Easily OC'd to match 280x with zero performance issues.

Cons: Kinda ugly. I have a windowed case and it is definitely not as pretty as my MSI R9 270 was, but it's what's on the inside that counts!

Other Thoughts: I got this card for $170 after rebate; A TOTAL STEAL. This purchase -- including the three free AMD gold titles -- was a no-brainer for me at this price, but even at full retail this card is very competitively priced (especially against those nVidia cards).

GET THIS CARD; YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!

5 out of 5 eggsGood Card

Pros: Chose this to upgrade my 7770 1GB Ghz Edition in a new rig. Caught it on introduction sale for $199.99 and chose it over a 280x due to it just being a downclocked 280x anyway.

With an 8320 @ stock settings and 8GB of vengeance ram, I am running BF3, Titanfall and FFXiV on ultra/max and getting 60+ fps in each @ 1920x1080.

I haven't OC'd yet due to the fact that I am waiting on new case and fans to get here (i don't trust myself with water cooling).

Cons: Card can run a bit hot, but nothing too bad. You do not want a cramped case with this thing and you want good air flow around the card. I haven't sent it over 70c yet but given the size and single fan, no doubt I think with some OC you could easily push it to a dangerzone without proper air cooling.

Another thing, this thing is hugemongous. It's over a foot long

Other Thoughts: I got it on sale for 200 bucks, so this was an insane deal. It's a bit less than 280x so if you are on a budget and want some performance, go with this and if needed oc it to 280x speeds. It has the same stream processors and memory. They are so identical you can't even find the 280 in a lot of benchmarks.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat bang for buck

Pros: Great card for the price.
Most modern games are at Ultra setting with ~55-70 FPS.
3GB of memory
AMD's Mantle technology
Temps hover around 45 C, w/ stock cooler

Cons: Not sure if it's just because of my case, but a fairly noisy card. Definitely recommend good air flow.
Perhaps the inclusion of dual fans may have helped take the load off of the one fan (Odd considering temps are not high at all).
Did not fit completely in my PCIe expansion slot.
sub 1ghz clock speed

Other Thoughts: Best card on the market for the price. 3GB of RAM is unbeatable for the price, and still more than what you'd get from a 780.
