3 out of 5 eggsGood card, bad fan

Pros: The card is good for the price. I'm not a big gamer, but it works for the things I need it for. The gaming graphics windows 7 experience index score is 6.2, which is surprisingly high. But the graphics score (desktop performance for Windows Aero) is only 4.4. But that really doesn't mean very much. Also, the fan, when it worked, was quiet.

Cons: After almost 8 months of ownership, the fan started making a loud, annoying noise. I took the fan out and when I spin it, I can hear that it's catching on something. I tried using a can of compressed air to clean it out, but it made no difference. The bottom line is that the fan stinks. Although, I honestly don't know if it needs the fan or not. I may try running it without the fan and see if it gets too hot.

Other Thoughts: On a positive note, they have 24/7 tech support and I called the number and was immediately put through to someone who is sending me a form to fill out. So far, the tech support aspect has been good.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: Has been a great card for me. I love pc games and have had no problems. I have played City Of Heros with this card, with settings just below max and no problems. I would recommend this card for anyone who plays games on a budget.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I am constantly tinkering with my computers and have swapped this card between three different systems. It still works so Nuff Said.

2 out of 5 eggsLousy Support - The last straw

Pros: Cost, graphics quality for non-gaming use.

Cons: (1) Display Driver errors constantly - (2) Some of the poorest support I've ever encountered

Other Thoughts: I purchased this card primarily for its dual monitor capability. I''m running a Dell AMD 64 3.0 Ghz with 8Gb The first card started failinng after 2 weeks, indicating a display driver failure. I called support, was told to update the driver, and it still failed. I opted to return the card to Newegg, since I would have to pay shipping to Galaxy.
I've had the card a little over 2 weeks, and have had several display driver failures, and Photoshop CS4 is complaining about incompatability.
I called support?? only to have the equivalent of a human form letter tell me I should download a later driver from NVDIA.

When I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was told that if I didn't want to speak to him, then I should hang up the phone.

They just lost a customer.

The product is only as good as the support you receive when it doesn't work.

There's been numerous posting about this problem, but, I don't want problems solved by internet postings. It's the manufacturer's probl

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome value

Pros: Value per dollar is great. Great for budget builds that require something a little more hefty than integrated video. Will play most older games without a hiccup. So long as it's understood that this is not a top of the line card and therefore will not perform as one I would say 10/10 customers will be satisfied with this purchase.

Cons: Component quality is so-so. Nothing wrong or damaged but if you are used to higher end graphics cards you will certainly notice the difference in quality.*

Other Thoughts: The pros outweigh the cons significantly and this is truly a great value/buck purchase.

Installed and recognized without issue. Will buy again for other builds.

*Better quality components start at much higher price points.

4 out of 5 eggsGood card for price

Pros: Great card for replacing my 8600GTS that died. Comparable performance for HTPC dual display use. Windows 7 picked it right up and installed driver automatically. Large heatsink/fan nice and quiet. Good card for those who want more than entry level w/o breaking the bank. Includes Component video and VGA adapters for legacy displays. Lowest priced dual DVI card I could find anywhere.

Cons: Large heat sink covers PCI slot next to card, not a big deal unless you still need all your PCI slots. Since it's going to cover the slot anyways why not run the heat out the back like gaming cards do? Would have been nice for them to have included DVI-HDMI adapter.

Other Thoughts: Just got it, lets see how the rebate procedure goes. Price is good on it's own but the rebate would really sweeten the deal.

3 out of 5 eggsNot for gaming

Pros: Runs silent, cool, doesn't require extra power.

Cons: I was expecting this to be a gaming card, and because I never did my research I was wrong. This card is not meant for gaming. Expect 20FPS on mostly everything you play on medium/lower settings (with a few exceptions such as Counter Strike: Source). I got this for $150 retail, and just bought a ATI 4770 for $100 after the mail-in rebate.

- Very slow memory
- Decent clock speed
- bad stream processors number

Other Thoughts: This card would be great for somebody who wants HDMI video streaming, as that's what it's meant for.

2 out of 5 eggsBetter to buy GDDR3

Pros: 2 x DVI

Cons: I thought this would be better than my 8600GT, but based on WEI, it was not and I'm guessing it's the GDDR2 mem. WEI was 4.7 for Graphics and 6.1 for Gaming graphics under win7 after the updated drivers. My 8600GT has 256MB of GDDR3 and has WEI of 5.8 Graphics, 6.4 Gaming Graphics.

Other Thoughts: Try a card with GDDR3 before getting this one.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: stable once latest drivers are installed with Win7

Cons: PC crashed once using windows 7. Once latest drivers were downloaded, it's been very stable. No problems.
