4 out of 5 eggsnice card bad fan

Pros: Nice card, fast 25-30 fps average on empire:total war with highest settings no aa.

Cons: Fan broke after about 2 months so I put a cooler master aquagate duo viva and the internal temp never gets above 50 now.

Other Thoughts: Good card but I would probably buy something more powerful if i got a new computer

3 out of 5 eggshigh price, low quality

Pros: Good card for photo editing, watching movies, or online hd video.

Cons: Cheap construction. It sounds like the fan is making contact with the shroud causing it to make just enough noise to drive me crazy. After inspection i found that it is the shroud vibrating. The card is secured properly, it just was not made very well.

Other Thoughts: For the amount of money i spent on this outdated card, i would expect the build quality to be better than this. I'm sure that i could find a way to silence the sound it makes but i shouldn't have to. In the future i will stay away from galaxy video cards.

3 out of 5 eggsexcellent product if it lasted!!!!!!!!!

Pros: i bought 2 of these to run sli on 3-2-09, they worked flawlessly until about 2 months ago i started getting an occasional BSOD<blue screen error> then about a week ago i got a BSOD and couldn't recover started looking at hardware and saw video card 2's fan was not spinning up. so i pulled it and tried booting then got error that os was corrupted took me 5 days of being down to remember where i had put my vista 64 ultimate disk at. once i found disk i ran repair and everything has worked great so far without second card.

Cons: i had never tried a galaxy product before usually go with pny or evga, because they are tried and true, but i decided to give galaxy a try. big mistake!!!!!!!!!!!

Other Thoughts: i spent almost $1600 building my intel I7 rig with 12 gb ram and 2 of these video cards the only thing i bought for it that wasn't tried and true were these cards and it has been 1 year and 2 months and one of them has already crapped out on me. i have other systems that i built that are still running three years later with no issues. i will never buy another galaxy product. these cards are great until they die. big loss for galaxy considering i recommend a lot of products to my clients.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Card!

Pros: Runs perfectly in my full atx HTPC. The S-Vid out is about the best I've seen (as good as any component in my stack)... which is an excellent feature for those wanting to build an HTPC & still use it on a CRT.

It handles down-converting HD video to SD out of the S-Vid port flawlessly. Plus, the HDMI port with audio is great to have for the future. It's nice to know that I can use it for my cheap TV for now... and also use it for an HDTV in the future without having to buy another card. Nice.

I've used this card for 8 months now without a single glitch. So as far as I'm concerned, it gets high marks for both performance & durability.

Cons: It is big, but I knew that before I bought it, so no eggs off.

Other Thoughts: This card is only loud if you let the room temp get too warm. When the room temp gets to around 75°, you start to hear it. Below that, and it's as quiet as any card with a fan. I like the room temp between 68 & 70° anyway... so it's quiet for me.

1 out of 5 eggsSLi didn't work

Pros: Card works awesome by itself didn't even think it needed sli, installs easy.

Cons: - 0 eggs b/c I bougt for sli and flat out didn't work w/sli like advertised!

When hooking up 2 GPU's it didn't work tried for 4 days going on sli forums and troubleshooting etc... in the end I got it working by using a driver from the stone age and the games just sucked, I took it out then couldn't even return it for the price i bought it for b/c nvidia decided to send a copy of WOW that I didn't want or need, and basically made it like I got a discount on the GPU so if I want to return it for half price I can... it's rediculous, I'm probably gonna sell it on craigslist along with the WOW game if I can!

***DON'T BUY THIS CARD FOR SLI USE***

My Specs:

q6600 quad core
8 GB DDR2 Ram
750i Sli Mobo
1050w PSU

Other Thoughts: Tried EVERYTHING to get them to work together, in the end the drivers now just don't support sli and the ones that do are so outdated that your GPU runs better alone with the new drivers... I'm angry!!

-also on sli forums everywhere this is an issue with this and the 8800 series cards, don't use them for sli, that's all I'm sayig!

4 out of 5 eggsBUY THIS CARD!!!

Pros: Runs in XP-64 bit Pro but be sure to download the drivers from Nvidia before installing as they are not on the CD. Also be sure to connect two 4-pin power supply Molex connectors from separate rails to each of the supplied dongle ends for the 6-pin Molex that attaches to the card as the PCI-e bus does not have the power to run it alone..Manual only states this was necessary for the 6 and 7 series. Software is great with all kinds of configuration possibilities. It will run my HDTV in the living room from my desktop up in the loft without a problem. Has various adapters so you shouldn't need to buy anything. Fan is not as noisy as some have stated and it found and configured my monitor automatically without any other adjustments required. Don't forget to connect the S/PDIF plug from the mobo to the card otherwise you'll wonder why you have no sound. Just a great card for the money and will buy another for the his and hers routine. This card is a hard one to beat at any price.

Cons: Manual said that the auxillary power connector (6-pin Molex) was required for the 6 and 7 series so I didn't hook it up and had a dead screen at first. Also, the yellow and black wire on the supplied connector also has a brown wire where a black wire is normally found. This brown wire also is a ground wire and I wished it was black. After checking things out, all you need to do is plug the connectors together and you will be alright. Yellow side-to-yellow side and the rest will work out OK. I had to bend the S/PDIF pins downward 90 degrees to clear the chassis on my Apevia X-Qpack case but it was no problem.

Other Thoughts: I was never much for on-board video.. This replaces my Nvidia 6150 on an AUSU board. Although I have not yet put this card to the test, it is feature rich and the specs say enough. I don't think I will be looking to replace this card for a long time and will probably just always keep it around. It also works great on my PCI-E 1 bus as it is backwards compatible so it will probably end up on my new board should I ever find a need to upgrade.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very powerful, very fast and it's a pretty good price.

Cons: This thing is huge. Covered up 2 sata ports, but it was just the plastic covering so I cut it off, hasn't affected performance. And these things run pretty hot. I'm seeing 50-60c at idle. Using some software I can crank the speed of the fans up to max which does a lot to help lower it. These things sit right on top of each other and cover up a couple PCI slots together.

Other Thoughts: Even though the cons list is a lot longer than the pros, I love these cards and I'd buy them again. I use a full tower case with 360mm side fan and going to add another 60mm side fan to help cover the second video card better.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Product & Quick Rebate

Pros: Overall is a good product. It has HDMI port works very well without complain. Rebate is done quickly. Shame on other companies do not honor customer rebate.

Cons: User Manual does not instruct how to connect to the power supply clearly.

Other Thoughts: Need to improve on HDMI audio connector and power connector to make easy connections.

4 out of 5 eggsQuiet & Steady

Pros: Runs quiet. I use it in my HTPC and it displays 1080p movies perfectly thru the HDMI port.

Cons: The driver CD that comes with does not detect the card. I had to download them from Nvidia's site.
