4 out of 5 eggsExcellent Value

Pros: I was a little skeptical on purchasing these cards based on past negative reviews but this was an exceptional value so I took the risk and purchased two to run in SLI.

The cards fit in flawlessly and started up with no problems. The EVGA P55 SLI board places these two cards extremely close to each other with a gap of 1-2mm separating the two. Despite this tight tolerance, heat does not seem to be an issue. The stock coolers are designed fine and I have yet to run into any stability issues.

Either the other users did not do proper research or Galaxy stepped up their quality control but these cards are far from previous reviews I've read.

Cons: Lack of accessory cables... although I may be biased based on previous Nvidia cards I've purchased in the past that were bundled with various accessories.

Other Thoughts: My Setup:
Core i5 750
Galaxy GTS 250 in SLI
OCZ Special Ops 8GB (4X2GB) DDR3 1600
2TB Hitachi HD
Antec Three Hundred Vision Case

1 out of 5 eggsIssues

Pros: Works great for about an hour.

Cons: Runs VERY hot. Shuts down my computer.

Other Thoughts: I got this card at Best Buy, not newegg. This card has been in two different computers with different motherboards and I have same same problem. Both with 600wt PSUs. I may have got a bad card, haven't checked the memory yet, but I cannot seem to find the other 6pin connector anywhere on my card. The box and Nvidia control panel says it's the 1GB version. The SSN checks out for the 1GB as well.

4 out of 5 eggsSo far so good.

Pros: Solid construction
Overclocks well
Low price with rebates

Cons: Only gripe is the fan noise. Hope to mod the fan/heatsink in future.

Other Thoughts: Bought 2 for SLI. No problems yet. Overclocked to 789,1170,1890. Never bought Galaxy before, but I like em now.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Worked well when it did.

Cons: Had red artifacts the first day playing games(OLD WC3 and DAO) that would freeze my computer. Unplugged and plugged back in made it work for awhile. DL latest drivers but would get artifacts here and there. Emailed galaxy but no reply. Last day i had it gave me non stop artifacts even when watching youtube. I returned it and wont buy from them again. =(

Other Thoughts: I had the 1gig version and didn't buy from newegg.

4 out of 5 eggsRMA processed

Pros: This is an update to my "memory issue review. I was able to RMA the card relatively easily, and the new card is free from memory issues.

Runs fine now and I am happy. Stock cooler is actually pretty good. I tried a Zalman VF900 cooler and it was worse than the stock cooler by 5 degC.

Cons: A little on the loud side when the fan ramps up, but it does help keep the keeps in check.

Other Thoughts: If you can pick it up for a good price, it is great. Otherwise I may go with a GTS 250 from another manufacturer.

4 out of 5 eggsNot that bad...

Pros: I felt like I needed to counter balance the many bad reviews of this card. The stock speed of the fan is set at 40% in the included xtreme tuner software, however you can set it down to 25% with Riva Tuner and program it to respond to increasing heat. This makes a big difference in the noise generated by the card. I have found no artifacts or pixelation on this card even after hours of graphics intensive processes. Their tech support is different from that which I have dealt with before, but they are prompt and get the job done.

Cons: I did end up RMAing my first card due to a distinct clicking from the cooler. The process was not that bad though, I sent it in on Thursday and got the new card back on the following Tuesday (and that was with a 3 day weekend for UPS!). The fact that I did need to RMA knocked off an egg.

Other Thoughts: Definitely pair with Riva Tuner to control the fan and you have yourself a very nice video card. Dropping from the stock 40% to 25% only upped the idle temp from 40C to 43C, and with it set on auto it only gets up to 60C under load.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Card!

Pros: I bought this card in a store by accident cause it was on sale when i was rly shopping for memory and let me tell you this card ROCKS!
--738 core clock
--not a huge card
--easy OC software
--Good for the price
--Amazing graphics with most everything maxed (depending) in most games.
--2 DvI ports + a HDMI port ( audio cable for hdmi is provided)

Cons: --RUNS HOT! If you have issues with heat already, dont buy this card. It's runs hotter than most other cards stock outa the box. You will need to turn the fan speed up using the software control if you plan on OC or not.
--Req 2x 4 pin power connectors, but can boot off only 1 (tested)

Other Thoughts: Not a bad card for the price. Basically its a repackaged 9800 with alittle faster speeds. My only regret is not picking up the 1Gig version of this card, but i didnt know about it till i had already bought this one.

2 out of 5 eggsMemory Issues

Pros: Good power, and great price when I purchased.

Temperatures at full load never reach past 65C and fan speed never above 70%, even purposely stress testing.

Cons: Having memory issues with artifacts and game freezes, apparently random.

Will see about RMAing and getting one without memory issues.

ATI Tool artifact checking shows no errors initially, but then tends to show error after ~15 minutes.

Video Memory Stress Test shows TONS of errors in memory.

Other Thoughts: If you get one without memory issues, it will probably be ok, though some people seem to have issues with fan noise. If you are trying to build a quiet PC, this is not what you want.

It doesn't crash or show any issues in normal 2D use, but you wouldn't buy this if you just browsing the web...
