5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Tested it with my kids computer build and they were cranking it with high settings. 60FPS on most games like SONIC GENERATIONS, SPLIT SECOND, LOST PLANET 2.

Cons: It should have had a blue led light?

1 out of 5 eggsArived DOA

Pros: I cant really say, I didn't get to use it.

Cons: Arrived with defective memory, causing instability, crashing, and in worst case, failure to post.

Other Thoughts: On further study and review of benchmarks I have found that this is NOT a good gaming card, so if that is what you are looking for, SPEND MORE MONEY. On the plus side, NewEgg customer service was awesome! They IMMEDIATELY issued me an RMA and and a prepaid shipping label. I rarely have encountered better customer service.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Budget Card

Pros: Can't beat the price / value on this card - full price or on sale
I couldn't find an Nvidia card in this price range that even compares to the GT 240 benchmarks. Of course if you don't mind ATI drivers.. you can always chose Radeon.

Lord of the Rings Online in ultra high 1920x1080 res and maintaining 50-70 FPS (i3 processor, H board & 480 PSU)

Also works fantastic with Amnesia :) and other 3-D intensive games.

Movies and other media - absolutely beautiful!

Cons: I guess the fan is a bit on the loud side..but I wear headphones and I'd rather have a loud fan and a cool card so I'm not docking any eggs for this.

Other Thoughts: Great little card ! I checked out some things with the mobo on-board graphics card and everything was very nice.. but when I put in this card.. woah.. what a difference! I'm VERY HAPPY with this card =)

1 out of 5 eggsNever buy this card or any other Galaxy product

Pros: Decent card for someone who does not need much GPU power.

Cons: To claim the rebate on this product you have to cut the UPC barcode label off the package. This usually would not be a problem because it is the standard process for rebates. The reason it is a problem in this case is because the barcode label clearly states "WARRANTY VOID IF REMOVED".

Other Thoughts: This card is definitely not worth the price without the rebate. There are better cards that can be purchased for the price this card sells for without the rebate. Having to give up your warranty to get the product at a normal price is crazy because if you paid the normal price for a different card you would have a warranty to go with it. I will never purchase another Galaxy product again because of this. It makes me wonder if it is a trick because they know the cards are not dependable. Time will tell.

4 out of 5 eggsLow-tier graphics card for low price

Pros: - When I first got this card, it was meant for a direct upgrade from my low GeForce 9 series card (9400GS or GT I believe), with the idea and purpose for "gaming" in mind. The difference from the upgrade allowed my games such as WoW, Counter-Strike: Source, Team Fortress 2, and such at the time were amazing. Constant 30+ FPS on said games with mostly mid-ultra settings (various settings adjusted for personal preferences)

- Cool "metallic" design with a big fan that definitely kept my system cool. Readings from GPU-Z indicated average 45C when in games (50C on extremely hot days/room temperature)

Cons: - After about a month of use, I began hearing clicking noises from the video card fan. I was not sure if it was a hidden wire being hit by the fan, or if a blade was scratching something on the card. Eventually with the paranoia of a dying card, I went ahead and got a EVGA GT 240 and swapped these cards, and now this is my "backup video card" in case something happens to my current card.

Other Thoughts: - There are screws on the fan design for those who really need (or insist) on getting inside the video card for easy cleaning and such, just keep in mind the screws are pretty small so don't lose them! While it only takes 1 PCI-E slot, the size of the fan will take up almost the space of 2 slots, so be wary about your video card placement if you have any other PCI/PCI-E devices attached.

5 out of 5 eggsgood card

Pros: this card was a replacement on a hp i have had for a few years. it fit my slot and power supply. the card works really well compared to the old card i had. It will work out wow really well and starcraft 2 will play on mid settings.

Cons: I like it

Other Thoughts: Galaxy cards are nice i think. Im glad i bought this card.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks fine on most games

Pros: Without breaking your bank, this is a pretty decent card. Will it run Crysis? YES, it will, on high settings I got an average around 23 FPS during intense scenes, not so great. Tone everything down to low and I got playable rates. With anything less GPU intensive as Crysis, you can run on high smoothly. How about on photo editing? Runs with multiple layers without a hitch.

Cons: Fan is a bit loud.
Only supports Dx10.1, colours may not show up on some games.
This will not be enough power for extreme applications.

4 out of 5 eggsNot Bad

Pros: Bought this card about 6 months ago. It was about $100 at the time. It was my first graphics card purchase and wasnt bad for what i needed it for. It ran Fallout 3 on ultra high settings with no issues.

Cons: It's really overpriced now for $85. I'd probably reccomend going with the new GTS450's for the price. Galaxy's heatsink/fan on this card seemed pretty cheap but it kept it very cool so no issues there.

Other Thoughts: Intel Core 2 Quad @ 3.5Ghz
EVGA GTS 450 (fermi)
G-SKILL Ripjaws 8GB (4x2gb) DDR3 1600
RaidMax 730W Modular PSU
Antec Dark Fleet DF-30

5 out of 5 eggsDecent for the price

Pros: - Low price
- Very low power consumption (running it on a 260 PSU)
- Stays cool most of the time
- Fan is quiet

Cons: I've had a few crashes with this card every now and then, usually when I run games on ultra-max settings for long periods of time. After about 4 hours of L4D2 on everything maxed out, it overheated and restarted. It could just be that my case has bad ventilation, though. Not taking an egg off for the low price. It can also run any game I have tried with it so far, including Mass Effect 2, on highest settings. I also regularly play Global Agenda on high settings with great frame rates.

Other Thoughts: I'm not sure why some are complaining about fan noise, mine has an almost silent fan. Can't even hear it while gaming. All in all, it's a great card for the price. I've owned it for 8 months and It's running like a charm. Bought it for $110 at the time, but came with a SF4 voucher; can't complain :D
