1 out of 5 eggsPiece of junk

Pros: It was cheap and its better than stock at least for 5 seconds.

Cons: Every time I start any game the piece of junk starts reducing the core clock and preventing the usage from going over %10. I cant even play a game like minecraft on minimum setting without it acting like a mental subject and quitting out on me. If I could rate -5 then it would be slightly accurate as to how bad this item is.

Other Thoughts: Make better products galaxy. I would have been better off to have spent another 20 bucks for one that actually would work.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi alman1234,

I'm sorry to hear your GTX 460 is having problems. As hard as we work to build graphics cards to the highest standard possible, defects can occassionally happen. I wanted to follow up to make sure you were able to get your card replaced, and that your replacement is working perfectly. Please email me at andrew@galaxytechus.com and let me know, and I'll do whatever I can to make sure you're fully satisfied.

Thanks,

-Andrew Fischer

5 out of 5 eggsWorth it

Pros: Handled everything i could throw at it exceptionally well. Overclocked about 15-20% with ease, considering it was factory oc.
Only required a 500W PSU.
Great value at the time.

Cons: Forgot to send in the MIR lol.

Other Thoughts: Purchased as part of my first self made system, saw lots of reviews touting asus, msi, and evga, but decided to take a chance on a lesser known brand.

No regrets, upgraded to a Galaxy GTX 570.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: a 460 card at a great price.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: What can I say. Upgraded from a 9800 GTX+ to this for less than $100 dollars? How can I say no to that. I'm not a hard core gamer so I don't need the most powerful card out there. Just something that will run the games with high settings at a decent frame rate. This does the job, and I probably won't have to upgrade again for another 3 years.

5 out of 5 eggsgalaxy is awesome

Pros: I have bought to video cards from galaxy and newegg. Love them both. one was the 465 that was paired with a amd 965 X4 for a friend, and other was GTX470 for myself. they work flawlessly. High quality components on pcb. So worth the money. I will get this one for another build in a couple weeks because price/performance cant be beat.

Cons: wont work well with an under powered psu, cpu, no ventilation case set up. Wait, this is not a con, but lack of common sense. No cons for this or any 400 series that are made by Galaxy.

Other Thoughts: Galaxy does make good on rebates, received mine in about 2 months or so. $40. also remember to run a 460, a good power supply is needed. cheap no name brands will give only problems and cause damage. Also the case you use must have good air flow. A 460 gtx needs only 24 amps combined on the 12v rail to work smoothly.Using a 460 768mb version, I have used a corsair 400 watt with 30 amps, with a quad-core , dvd burner, 2 hard drives and 4 120 mm case fans. This works perfect, and has enough power to over-clock CPU and gpu a bit. The 460 does need a good CPU to stretch its legs also. combining this with an old Pentium 4 that even has a clock rate of 3.2ghz would be a waste. the minimum i would recommend would be dual core athlon II or E7200 long as they can be over-clocked. i use a Q9550 O/C @ 3.6ghz and stock AMD X4 840@3.2 ghz. the q9550 does play great at the stock clock 2.8ghz with my GTX470 @ 1080p. With a newer quad cpu this 460 uses 150/160 watts of power on its own when gaming.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card

Pros: Runs pretty cool at 65c and being overclocked to 850 mhz in my Xigmatek Utgarde.. helps having a 200mm fan blowing air on it lol... bought two of them one for me and one for my wife.. We play rift and it doesn't lag at all unless you put on supersampling and even then its at about 25 FPS and about 60 or so without it on ultra settings. As far complaints about the fan noise.. use MSI afterburner to control it.. no reason to have running at 100% even while gaming and hopefully you don't game without the sound on.. if you do your missing out =)

Cons: Got a $40 rebate for each still waiting on that been about 2 weeks so still waiting on that.. missed the 2 games though =/

Other Thoughts: Cheapest of the Gtx 460's with the $40 rebate.. overclocks very well and plays games very very well..

5 out of 5 eggsawesome

Pros: Very powerful

Cons: power hungry, 2, 6 pin connectors each

Other Thoughts: Ive run just cause 2 and left for dead 2 at all maxed out settings, works great. I got the SLI kit for a little more then what one cost. Remember for SLI you have to have a 700 watt supply and an extra case fan or 2 wouldnt hurt

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Buy

Pros: What can I say that ha snot been said before. This is a solid card. Runs any game I have with FPS 60 or greater than on ultra high graphics. Games are Rift beta,WoW,FO New Vegas, Global Agenda to name a few.

Cons: Fan blades will break if one is not careful.

Other Thoughts: As mentioned the fan blades will break but galaxy made good on sending me a replacement one. Due to the fan blade issue I would think Galaxy would stock spare fan blades to sell maybe.

5 out of 5 eggsBlistering Fast Video Card!

Pros: Ate Just Cause2, World of Warcraft, Rift(beta), Crysis alive with my current rig. I am able to keep a solid 60fps+ through all benchmarking tests and with fraps running in game. Definitely a big fan of Nvidia after getting this card and I upgraded from ATI.

Cons: Nothing yet.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great Video Card and very silent which is key to me. It is already overclocked from the manufacture so what more can you want. I am not using SLI which I might get in the near future if my gaming needs require it but for now I am good.
GAMES PLayed Max Settings
Call Of Duty Black Ops
Crysis
Prototype
Wolfensteien
IT RAN THEM LIKE A CHAMP!!!

Cons: I did see a little bit of lag in Crysis just for like a split second but nothing major if you want dual this up with SLI and you should have no problems
